Tanglewood 3 Condo with the BEST VIEW, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
Wonderful beachfront condo adjacent to Rathtrevor Provincial Park in Parksville, on the east coast of Vancouver Island, on Georgia Strait (recently renamed the Salish Sea). You will witness the ever-changing natural beauty and wildlife of the West Coast , including migrating blackbrants, eagles and hawks nesting in the surrounding forest, water birds such as herons and egrets, seals surfacing at high tide and early morning/late evening sightings of deer, rabbits and quail.
Sunrise will greet you with warmth and light flooding through large panoramic windows, into the living room, dining room and kitchen. You can be the first to make your tracks across the pristine, rippled sand after the waves have erased yesterday’s creations. Witness the awesome sight of a full moon painting a swath of light on the water and watch it slowly sink into the sea from your window, or even better, go outside and see the brilliance of the star studded night sky, undiminished by the glow of city lights.
Our unit is a haven nestled in a spectacular setting, on the second floor of a beachfront fourplex. Even while relaxing inside, you can enjoy the majesty of nature and life around you. Being outside is exhilarating and a wonderful antidote to the busyness and stress of life. Prepare to unwind, relax and simplify your life.

Why Owner chose Parksville
Our retreat is centrally located on the east coast of Vancouver Island and easily accessible to other areas and attractions. It is a two hour drive south to Victoria, with attractions such as Butchart Gardens, the Empress Hotel, Royal B.C. Museum and whale watching tours. Similarly, it is a two hour drive north to the Courtney/Comox Valley and Mt. Washington ski resort. Day trips to the fishing meccas of Port Alberni and Campbell River are another option. Long Beach/Tofino/Wickaninnish surfing and storm watching are other possibilities, as are trips to outlying islands such as Hornby and Denman. Friends visiting from the mainland (i.e. Vancouver) can take the Vancouver/Horseshoe Bay ferry to Nanaimo and drive north 25 minutes to Tanglewood. Airplane connections are typically made through Victoria, Nanaimo or Comox/Courtney airports.
What makes this Condo unique
The location of our condo adjacent to Rathtrevor Provincial Park affords us access to a beautifully forested area with well-maintained trails, a nature house with summer parks programs for the kids, popular camp sites and tubing on the rapids of the Englishman River and estuary. There are many areas close by where one can go digging for clams and oysters or fishing. We love the quaint markets and local arts and cultural events organized by Parksville/Qualicum, such as the Coombs Market, Parksville Sand Castle Festival, downtown night market and Classic Car Festival.

Rathtrevor Beach Winner!
My family has been coming to Parksville for many years and we have stayed in almost every resort. Let us save you the effort; this unit is by far the best. The location is the most obvious feature. This place is truly walk-on beachfront, as advertised… no access roads or steep hills to deal with. Bonus: the sand quality is best here (the beach is not uniform). The view is perfect – I can watch my children play on the beach while I make lunch in the fabulous kitchen. From the deck, I can even call out to family members on the sand. Every room is clean, crisp, and luxurious. The owners are wonderful to deal with and the rates are fair as they do not charge extra management fees.
Rathtrevor Beach has something for every age group and I have watched my kids evolve from babies playing in the sand to skim boarding and swimming in the warm, shallow water. There are paths for walking, biking and enjoying the wildlife. Mini-golf and restaurants are also walking distance. My husband needs to stay in touch with his office, and setting up a work station was easy. I decided to unplug and spent our entire stay enjoying the beach. There are few places in the world where one has the privilege of walking onto kilometers of pristine ocean floor during low tide. Every day at Tanglewood is a treasure!
A Wonderful Place
We spent six nights here, and we hope to come back next year. The view is even more spectacular than the photos, which is what lead us to choose this venue. Hubby did a time lapse movie of the tide coming in, and it is awesome - the sand being covered by water, the birds moving around, the sun casting shadows on the island in the distance, and the clouds moving past, a mesmerizing couple of minutes capturing a good six hours. The space itself is clean and very comfortable, with a home-like quality that puts one at ease. The living room furniture is very nice and easy sitting. The gas log fire place is one of the nicest we have seen. The dining table and chairs invite one to dine. And the kitchen has everything necessary to prepare those nice meals with fresh fish from the area. The place is well-appointed with plenty of towels, sheets, cook ware, dishes and silverware. Pantry items plus things like dry pasta were available in the cupboards. Plenty of hot water for showering or baths, soaps, lotion samples, cotton swabs... We even got to play Scrabble on a real board instead of on our kindle readers, a real treat. Covered parking right next to the stairs made it easy to get unpacked and out on the beach - oh, did I mention that Rathtrevor Beach Park with its beach walking and lovely forest trails is able to be accessed by a beach access path from the parking area. And Milner Gardens, Englishman River Falls and Englishman River Park are less than a half hour drive, while the Top Bridge Regional Trail going to the suspension bridge by Allsbrook Rd is only a four mile round-trip walk from the door. And the new front loading washer and dryer along with the high-speed internet and large, bright flat-screen TV made for a prime tech experience. Plus the email contact with the owner personalized the stay. Thank you for a perfect holiday adventure!
Absolutely loved our time here. The location is second to none, you want to be right on the beach, this is the spot. Two amazing decks to enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon/sunset glass of wine. No better beach to enjoy walks. Condo had everything we needed, very modern, well equipped. Great time.
Love love loved this condo!!! The view is spectacular and truly beachfront! The beach is right there, perfect location!! Loved spending my mornings going for walks on the beach and spending the evening staring at the sunsets from the living room. The place is in great condition and very clean, we had everything we needed. Cannot wait to come back!!
The absolute best!
My husband and I loved the condo! Fabulous view, very clean, extremely well equipped - kitchen, beach chairs, bathrooms, cleaning products, crayons for kids, etc.
Everything is in good condition. The place is very quiet but close to shopping, and you can walk to the mini-golf.
Close to Coombs and Cathedral Grove. Perfect for a romantic getaway, and also for a families with children.
You cannot make a better choice. Highly recommended
best place on vancouver island
Myself and four other women having been holidaying at this condo for the past 20 years. Why the same place? Because it's perfect! The view and the beach are probably the best on Vancouver Island. One immediately relaxes once you enter the condo and look at that gorgeous view. The location is perfect for walking, either out to sea when the tide is low or in each direction along the beach, through the park or to one of the very good restaurants in the neighbourhood nearby. Not that I couldn't be more relaxed when I am there but there is a Spa if needed nearby. The condo is equipped with everything you could need. I think the kitchen is almost better equipped than my own at home. The owners have kept the condo in perfect condition which amazes me as we having been coming there for a very long time/
Sandy beach stretches out for miles at low tide. Ideal for beachcombing, and water activities of all kinds. Playground and picnic tables, hiking/walking/biking trails and nature walks at Rathtrevor Provincial Park, steps away.
