This is an absolutely beautiful home with an amazing deck that gets a great breeze. It has a very well stocked kitchen, laundry room and smart TVs in all of the bedrooms. You even get a bonus room downstairs with a sink and a toilet. The management company y is very responsive and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time down there and would love to go back. I’ll f you get the chance rent tbis beauty.

Nice birthday get-away

We had a great time relaxing and being right on the water. Weather was perfect and we enjoyed kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and fishing.

Great for a weekend getaway

My family stayed at Heron's Nest for an extended weekend and we really enjoyed it. Outside of a couple of minor issues, the house is a perfect place to get away and be close to the water. We would definitely stay at this place again.

Great Jamaica beach get away

I love going to Galveston. My family has been spending one or two nighters there for many years. This beach house was spacious with a large deck perfect for fishing. Kitchen and bathrooms are newly remodeled. Had a great experience with family.

Excellent Rental

We will definitely stay here again. Plenty of room for everyone and the kitchen was fantastic! It was well equipped and had everything we needed. Only downside is deck stairs need replacing. Otherwise it was an excellent place to stay.

Great vacation spot

Loved being able to wake up and fish every day. Close to the beach and dog friendly. Some recommendations: Unfortunately king bed was Very lumpy, refrigerator was rusted in the front under water dispenser, Kitchen Cabinet doors need to be cleaned better, downstairs room smell was very musty.

Heron's Nest Stay

Property was good for the family. We needed all rooms. Water downstairs for cleaning off and for fish station disabled. We needed it. The room downstairs was musty so not an option to stay in it. The rest of the stay was excellent. Dock was great for fishing, close to beach, all appliances worked.

Lovely property! Kids had a great time on paddle boards in canal. Home was great!

Easy check in. Couldn't open downstairs unit at first. Property MGMT sent out people with new keys that worked. Only wish master bedroom ceiling fan had worked and outside lift had worked for our luggage and groceries.

Terrific!

The property was very clean. The appliances were all high end and worked well. Plenty of dishes, cutlery and pots and pans. My husband loved fishing from the pier. It is just a short hop to the beach. One thing I didn't see in the listing was that there is a lift! Not for people but it was great for luggage and groceries! It was an unexpected bonus. Really enjoyed the deck and the breeze.

Nie property for our family

Overall it was a very nice place for our family. Good size and well kept. Some things missing and wrong. There was no propane in the propane grill; the dryer didn't work (6 hours to dry one load of towels); for the 8 people staying there more towels were needed since the dryer wasn't working; only one kitchen towel; lights out on deck (or no instructions about switches); and air not working in one bedroom.. Nothing major but just several things that would have made a much better stay.

Everything about our stay was excellent from check in to check out. They even messaged us to check in to make sure we were doing well. The kitchen and bathrooms upstairs were updated and beautiful! Spacious kitchen, large new gas stove with oven, clean large fridge with working ice maker (a must), 2 types of coffee makers for us to make our Kurig coffee of choice or to make a full pot. Kitchen had a blender and a toaster as well, which we didn’t need to use. The sink and dishwasher was also updated, easy to use and very clean. Kitchen had all the dishes, pots, utensils you would ever need including measuring cups and containers. The washer and dryer worked well also. The deck and stairs need some updates though, a few nails on the stairs, and an area needing an extra bored to close in the gap. But the seating, table, lights and fishing rod holders made up for it. I want to thank you for the gates and fence everywhere! Even at the top of the stairs. It was a selling point for us since my daughter is 2! Safety! They had a bench swing, nice grill downstairs, and bench on the dock for us to sit. We didn’t use the downstairs bedroom since it was musty from moisture, but that’s fine, the extra couple didn’t come with us. Our overall experience was great! Our 3 kids including our teenager and 7 year old really loved it as well. Even the short drive to the clean beach. Will be coming to this house again next year!

Just ok

We booked this place for a friend trip for 4 couples. It is advertised as a 4 bedroom. The 4th bedroom is downstairs at ground level with a separate entrance. The smell of mildew is overwhelming and makes it uncomfortable to spend any amount of time there. You can smell it before you even open the door. Also, two overhead lights do not turn off completely. The primary bedroom bed had sand in the sheets. We also killed a roach on our first night. All in all it is a well equipped home but wish we had known about the fourth bedroom and wish it had been cleaner.

Herons Nest stay

Overall we enjoyed our visit. Two observations are that the home definitely needs some updates and TLC and the photos are deceiving when it comes to room size. The upstairs room with the twin beds was very very small and strangely had no window. Some recommendations are that you bring your own pots and pans as the ones there are not good. We have been renting in this neighborhood for years and this is the first home that has not had a pantry so be prepared to improvise on storing your food. Throughout the years we have also learned that rooms on the ground level have a musty smell and this one is no different. The window unit did a good job cooling but the lack of central air and heat allows for moisture and odor. We bought plug in fresheners to help with the odor. The patio chairs over the boat dock were all broken due to age and the fan was missing a blade so we could not use it. So be prepared and have some of your own folding chairs to use if the furniture has not been replaced.

Nice get away

The property was nice size and relaxing on the water. There were several issues with the furnishings and accessories. The grill was not cleaned and nearly caught on fire. The furniture was pretty old and worn out. They need a couple of items in the kitchen. Nothing that prevented us from having a good time, just needs updating.

Very nice

Thus property was even better than photos and descriptions. Well maintained and stocked. It’s the most quiet property I’ve ever rented….I wonder if they foam insulated the walls. We even had a hard time hearing when the baby cried! Nice setting and really good in every way.

great location, spacious, clean, home atmosphere ; wonderful deck but needs some upkeep

We so enjoyed this property with the large deck over looking the canal in a quiet neighborhood. The appliances were great including the Keurig machine, The atmosphere and layout was home like. It could use a face lift and modernization; simple touch ups. There also were some concerns that have been mentioned in prior reviews and have not been addressed. Feed back and reviews are only beneficial if changes, repairs are made . First impressions make a big difference . Outside of refrigerator needs repairs ; kitchen cupboards need to be fixed , vents cleaned and a solution to the mustiness of the lower room, upkeep of outdoor furniture. Photos need to be updated or updates need to match photos. Overall very good but could be great with a few simple minor cosmetic changes. Hope follow through can be a reality. Thank you. We enjoyed this spacious decked beach house in a quiet canal community.!!
