If you could please turn off the exterior lights at night when not in use and especially at check out. Our neighborhood is big on reducing light pollution for wildlife and also for people stargazing.
Trash pickup is Wednesday & Saturday. place can at end of the driveway for pickup the night before. lid must be closed or they wont empty the bin. leave a small space between each for the claw to grab
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Joe could not have been more thoughtful or accommodating! This is a fantastic property, even better than the pictures. The house can sleep a ton of people, and there’s plenty of room to eat together and gather together even with big groups. Highly recommend! The pool is beautiful and well maintained, and the outdoor shower with both hot and cold water was blissful. We did as he suggested and took advantage of the (limited) 4WD passes available to purchase from the county. The four-wheel-drive beaches are much less crowded than those within walking distance. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Baby Fiest Beach Trip

My husband had a health issue that prevented the two of us from going, but we convinced my adult children, their spouses and my 12 mo. old grandson to go without us. They loved the home; lots of space, clean, close to shopping, attractions and restaurants. They enjoyed the neighborhood beach access to avoid the public access crowds. Joe was very responsive to our last minute change in plans and showed such kindness to my husband and I at a very difficult time.We plan to go back, next time with all of us and look forward to working with the host again.

Great stay!

We loved this place. It comfortably fit our 12 person group. Joe was very communicative and kind. The water view was lovely from the back porch (lake, not oceanfront) and a pretty close walk to the beach. Be sure to carpool with larger parties! We will definitely be staying here again

Family Vacation

The house was very clean and nice. The decks and pool were great. The kids had a good time fishing in lake. Kitchen was wonderful. The house could use a better outdoor grill and manual containing things like check out procedures and tv operating instructions. All in all our multi generational family had a great time.

Family 70th birthday celebration vacation

We had a wonderful vacation week! A few minor blips but Joe, the owner, was quickly on top of it and very easy to reach, very communicative. The pool was wonderful. Having small children with us, this was a definite plus, they loved it! The pool didn’t need heating at the end of June and seeing the turtles behind the house was fun for us all.

Vacation

Overall the house was good! It does have a lot of steps to get to the main living area. The walk to the beach was a bit longer then I was expecting as well. The heated pool was great and the open floor plan was wonderful for family time.

Very enjoyable

Facility was perfect for our stay. A few minor issues (some towel racks not secured, would have liked to be able to clean the bottom of the pool, unable to control the a/c temp as some times got a little chilly). Dont get me wrong, overall the house was wonderful and really made our vacation a memorable one.

Most well stocked rental ever

This was a wonderful rental property to spend a week relaxing. Joe was very easy to reach when we had a problem with the pool heater on the first day and it was quickly taken care of first thing the next morning. By afternoon the water temp was already in the low 80’s and enjoyable to swim in. The lake directly behind the house provided some good fishing throughout the week catching quite a few bass and a couple of carp. If you have little ones they will love all of the turtles. The kitchen was extremely well stocked. The beach is a short walk away. We loved eating our meals on the third floor deck enjoying the view of the lake behind us. The grill is a charcoal park model grill but wasn’t a problem for us picking up a bag at the Food Lion which is a short 5 minute ride up the road. All in all it was a week that went to quickly as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

House needs some TLC, but overall good place to stay

Pros: Joe was super easy to communicate with, was always quick to respond and was extremely nice! The house was close to shopping and amenities. The kids also loved the pool and being able to fish in the lake behind the house. Cons: The house could’ve definitely been cleaned better. The floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped in a long time, there was splatters of stuff on the walls and areas that really needed to be wiped down. There was also no hand soap in any of the soap dispensers in the bathrooms. None of the bedroom TVs were useful since they were not smart TVs, so the only working TV was in the living room so the adults were doomed to watch kid shows the whole trip when inside. There was also a horrible fly infestation outside near the pool, so you couldn’t bring any drinks or food outside by the pool without flies swarming your head. The beach walk was also farther than anticipated. It was probably closer to a 10 min walk because you have to walk around the lake to get to the beach access. We ended up taking turns driving and dropping everyone off because the kids that were with us were little and couldn’t do the walk (infant and three 4 year olds). You also can’t rent a golf cart in that community which was a bummer. Overall, we still had a great vacation, but the house could definitely use some TLC and improvements! Overall Good but Some Stress

After getting settled on our first day, we realized the refrigerator wasn't working properly. Turns out that the fridge was dying. The ice maker was leaking, causing water in the freezer and leaking onto the floor and the fridge wasn't able to keep things cold. After reaching out to Joe, the homeowner, and explaining the situation, he placed an order for a new fridge. Unfortunately, the new fridge couldn't get delivered until Wednesday so we had to live out of coolers for three days. Daily trips were made to Harris Teeter to get ice for the coolers. Needless to say, this caused some undue stress. We understood this was not Joe's fault and he should be commended for doing what he could to make the situation better for us. It was a bummer that the anticipation of a relaxed vacation turned into a somewhat stressful time. Once the new fridge got installed, the vacation became less stressful and more enjoyable. As far as the house, it was very accommodating and roomy. The walk to the beach wasn't bad (5-10 min) and the lagoon out back was a cool addition to a beach vacation. Walking the dog around the perimeter in the morning and kayaking in it were fun. We didn't bring a fishing rod but we watched neighbors catch a few smaller fish each evening. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, cookware, spices, etc. The fridge issue really put a damper on the vacation. However, the vacation turned out to be enjoyable. Thank you, Joe!

Beautiful home!

We had such a great stay here! The home was very clean and well maintained and about a 5-7 minute walk to the beach. Loved hanging out by the pool and the close proximity to restaurants/shopping in Corolla! Joe was very responsive with any questions we had, our only wish was that there was some hand soap supplied in the bathrooms and some spices for cooking but other than that everything was wonderful! We will definitely be back!
