Had a great time!!!

We stayed here in June 2018. We had a party of 14, 7 adults & 7 children. Spent a lot of time at the pool and the kids playing in the game room. With children it was so nice there was lots of toys to play with, we have never had that at any other place we have stayed. The house was comfortable and Joni is a very kind and responsive host. Only issue was we didn't want to leave... we hope to go back to the Happy house again in the near future!!!

Happy House was large enough for our group

Game room and pool was a plus for us, never thought I’d see children put down phones and enjoy each other laughing and enjoying life as we did when we were young, there was plenty of room, washer and dryer was a plus to keep up with clothes for 14 people. Overall stay was awesome, we will return. Joni is an awesome owner.

Cozy

Joni is the best hostess I have ever come across on HomeAway, AirBnb and VRBO. We evacuated from Florida ahead of Irma's landfall and she was extremely kind to let us check in early and even offered to let us stay as long as we wanted at no extra charge. We were so blessed to rent a cozy home with every amenity possible. Our kids loved the game room. The pool table was a hit with the kids. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality. We will be sure to rent from you again should we ever end up in Mississippi once more.

Home away from Home

We had a couple families staying together, there was plenty of room for the kids and adults to have their space. Our kids enjoyed the pool, game room, and the huge backyard! The adults enjoyed the outdoor sitting area, the large family room and plenty of space to cook and grill. We ran out of propane and I sent an email at 830am, and the tanks were refilled and hooked up at the grill by 9:00am. We truly were impressed working with Joni and her ambition to make sure we were happy campers at the happy house!

I was going to give it 5 stars but the furniture was older a little renovation wouldn't hurt.

Besides the furniture everything that was explained on the website you got, I have no complains it was clean, just little things that could of been better but I had a great time overall!!

Pros: Large back yard, nice neighborhood, great location, dog friendly house. Washer & dryer work. Comfortable bed. Good ac. Nice breakfast bar and dinning table. Cons: Pool and pool area were dirty upon arrival. Lights in carport were burnt out as were some in house fixtures, could not find replacement bulbs for them. Game room was dirty, cluttered and unorganized, pieces and parts to things were all over. Hot tub is inside game room, there was blackish slimy stuff in bottom. All cabinets and pantry full of stuff, no where for our food. Leftover food from previous guest in refrigerator. All drawers in kitchen are broken and full which is dangerous. Remotes missing batteries, remote for dvd player could not be found. Almost all channels on box in living room are locked, not just movie channels. Hot water was questionable for showers and there were only two of us! Rack in master bath shower covered with rust. Fire ants are all over back yard, not just in a couple places. This was our first time using VRBO and was supposed to be a relaxing vacation for a family wedding. There were so many details that needed to be addressed before we got there, things that you would just expect to be done. Maybe it was end of season, maybe it was timing as the owner was out of town. We don't really know, it left us feeling very disappointed and a little less enthusiastic about renting again.

Vacation 2015

This was our second stay at Happy House and enjoyed it as much as we did the first time. We all enjoyed the pool and all the ammenties it had to offer. My grandaughter referred to it as "home" lol. I highly recommend Happy House. We look forward to our stay in 2016.

We love this house!

My family & I rented this house in December 2014 and again June 2015. It was my dad's 60th b-day celebration and we had family come to the house from several different states! We loved utilizing the pool, the games outdoors, and the game room. We had enough room to hang out, play games, and cook. The owner is fantastic, has great communication, and let us to take home some blueberries from the blueberry bush outside! I know this house is perfect and I am sure we will be coming back! Thanks again!

Great house for family & friends!

My family and I rented the Happy House for Christmas 2014. The house was located in a great location and enabled us to find a nice place for our family to meet and enjoy the Christmas holiday together. The house provided enough space for all of us to spread out. In addition, the open floor plan allowed us to have quality interaction time while simultaneously making dinner, playing games, working on puzzles, watching tv, etc. We actually enjoyed the house so much that we are now renting it this summer again and cannot wait to be able to use the pool and huge backyard as it was too cold to do so in December. Further, the owner was more than helpful and very easy to work with!

Home away from home for large family

This is my 2nd time to rent Happy House for extended family visiting the area, and the experience was just as great the 2nd time! This house is set up for family living. The house has great floor plan to keep napping youngsters separate from older kids, and several different seating areas for overlapping conversations and competing TV shows. There are great indoor and outdoor play spaces for all ages, and plenty of games, toys and amenities to keep all entertained. We had great weather and used the pool into October. Well appointed kitchen ready for cooking large family meals and essential washer and dryer too. Our family (ages 2 1/2 to 91) were all happy here. We spent alot of time hanging out and not as much time 'going and doing' as we had originally planned. We will be back again!

Crazy family fun at the Happy House!!!

The house is beautiful and perfectly set up for family fun. The bedrooms being shut off from the house helped us, because they could nap and we didn't have to be quiet. We'll be back hopefully before next year, but next year for sure. I would have recommended this house already to friends. Thank you for your graciousness.

An Extraordinary Vacation Home

My family and I had the privilege to stay at the "Happy House" enroute from Florida to Houston. What a blessing! The house good easily sleep over a dozen people, and is very tastefully appointed, wirh more amenities than we could have ever imagined. Great location. HIGHLY recommend!

Wonderful Home! Great Owners!

The house was beyond our expectations! The family loved the game room as well as fully stocked game closet! My family ranged for 5 months to 73 years old and there were no complaints! The owner was available for all questions before, during, and after our visit to the happy house! The kitchen was well stocked and clean! The Happy House will always be my number on choice when staying on the Mississippi coast!

Mini-family Reunion

We had a wonderful time at the "Happy House". Our family ranged in age from 17 to 81 years old and everyone had a good time! The game room was awesome, the house was very private and the beds were comfy. The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils needed to cook a great meal! There were a few grocery stores and a seafood market close by. We went to the Saturday street market in downtown Long Beach. We visited Darwell's downtown for lunch; excellent Cajun food (featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri)! We visited "Beauvoir", the last home of Jefferson Davis in Biloxi and also the Beau Rivage Casino. We went to the beach and took a day trip to New Orleans! I liked that there were a lot of TV's, we could watch whatever we wanted and it just so happened that "A Streetcar Named Desire" was playing the night night we returned from N.O.!! The week flew by way too fast! I would definitely recommend the Happy House to stay in!! Thanks Joni for sharing your home with us!

Happy House comes through!

This home made us feel comfortable, and our host made us feel welcome. We made great use of the large pool in the cool mornings accompanied by coffee and reading, the hot afternoons, and the delightful evenings when the pool was warm and the lighting relaxing. Our family dogs also loved the huge fenced yard. The rec room hosted our family ping-pong tournament and numerous other games. Best of all, the large dining table and the family-friendly seating in the living room gave us great time to talk and enjoy each other - that really was the best part of the week! We made the trip into New Orleans (including biegnets at Cafe du Monde and lunch at Muriels), and spent an afternoon on the beach. Happy House was our favorite place to be, and we're thankful we found it.

happy times

My grown children and grandchildren loved this house. We had not been to the gulf in 8 years so our family is bigger now and this was great for us. I wanted to stay in Gulfport but we love the location and ease of getting where we wanted in Long Beach. Ages from 62 to 2 and something to do for all. We enjoyed using the huge kitchen and the game room was great. The pool was used everyday and you had thought of everthing that we needed. At night some of us just sit outside and grill and just was with each other. We did the beach, sight seeing, New Orleans and the casinos. A place to get supplies less then a mile away and a Walmart close by. The last two day was just spend around the house and it was great. Big enough that the baby could nap and we just went on doing what we was doing. Internet was used by all as at least 4 was doing school on line. We live about 13 hours away but we will stay at HAPPY HOUSE again when we come back. Thank you for thinking of everthing we could need. Brenda and Roger

Great Rental!! Perfect Location!

Joni - I am so sorry it has taken me so long to write this review. I am guessing at the date that we were there but I think it is close. For anyone who loves the south and wants to do site seeing this was the perfect home. We had 15 people staying in the home and we were never crowded. Very spacious, clean and fun. Having the bedrooms separated from the main part of the house helped when the little ones went to bed earlier then the adults or were napping during the day. We didn't have to worry about being loud and waking them up. It was situated perfectly between New Orleans and Mobil so day trips worked out great. We made lots of use of the internet connection doing research on places to see, restuarants and driving directions - sometimes we had 4 laptops going!! The family is already asking if we are planning another trip down and it is a definate YES that we would be renting this house again. It was also close to my aunt's house that lived in Gulfport - we had 5 more family members staying with her. She has since sold her home and moved up to northern Mississippi to be closer to her son - be we still plan on visiting again. Again - thanks for providing a GREAT rental Joni!! Sheri from Illinois

I trusted the previous reviewers- and am SO HAPPY I did!

We rented Joni's "Happy House" for a destination wedding. As our family was travelling a long way, we wanted space for everyone to get some peace and relax. Before the we all (sadly) had to leave, everyone was enthusiastically asking "When can we come back? Let's rent this place again next year!" If you have a dog, your pet will be in HEAVEN- It's the largest fenced back yard we've ever seen, with lots of room to run and explore. If you have kids, they will be ENTERTAINED- the pool and water slides are fabulous, and the game room kept everyone busy. If you want to do relax, you will be PLEASED- there are five? TVs in the house, multiple group seating areas, and even the world's comfiest hammock in the yard. Twice people spent the night out there sleeping underneath the stars, the neighborhood is so quiet. It was extremely clean, and the owner was very friendly and helpful. If you go- make sure to eat at the Half Shell Oyster House in Gulfport, and Shaggy's on the Beach, which is right on the water. Thanks for a wonderful stay- it would be a joy to return!

Great House and Host, Everything was there even the little items that makes it all worth renting a house not a hotel for the weekend get away. What a greathouse and host, Three couples no kids had a blast and already making plans to bring the whole familes later this summer, house has everything you'll need to make it a weekend or whole week stay, Nice and peaceful at night time swimming pool was great hot tub great..Plenty of kids toys and x-box games.
