Magnificent Farmhouse with swimming pool, acres of unspoilt farmland with Olive trees and Lavender fields. Incredible views over the Luberon Valley and nearby village of Murs.
The “Mas de Roquejeanne” is a magnificently restored French Farmhouse settled on the hillside in acres of its own unspoilt farm land boasting lavender fields and olive trees in the heart of the Luberon National Park only 7 kms from Gordes and 40 kms from Avignon. The Farmhouse, once a sheep farm, is surrounded by thousands of acres of oak forest with exceptional views over the Luberon Valley. As you drive up the lane, through the typically Provençal garrigue woodland dense with wild oak and olive trees, to the property you will be amazed to discover a lush green lawn below a majestic and ancient oak tree giving shade at the rear of the farmhouse. Fields of lavender in long straight lines proudly await you and the splendor of this incredibly beautiful domain will strike you as you walk down towards the pool deck and front terrace.
Built and restored in local stone on two levels, the Farmhouse is fully furnished and beautifully decorated with pretty Provençal furniture, charming objects and bright paintings. The terrace and courtyard are accessible from the kitchen, dining room, library and lounge and the property is equipped with all modern amenities. As you walk into the entrance hall you immediately feel at home in this charming old farmhouse. The kitchen is a gourmet Chef’s dream, huge central island with zinc work top, stone work tops, battery of utensils for cooking, plenty of high quality plates, glasses, platters and cutlery. 5 gas top stove and a huge stone sink, dishwasher. You also have access to the quaint cool little rear terrace with it’s round stone table and barbecue area with views over the mountains. There is plenty of cupboard space and a pantry to the rear of the kitchen with American fridge, coffee machines, robots and everything you would need for preparing delicious meals. The laundry room is adjacent to the kitchen with washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities.
The long wooden dining table is great for informal lunches or evening meals and an impressive stone fireplace warms the cozy armchairs in the little sitting room next to the dining area, a perfect spot for relaxing and taking an aperitif before dinner. The ceilings are à la française and the stone slab floors sober and natural. The library and second lounge continue on along the ground floor with views over the garden, terrace and pool area. Another stone fireplace awaits you in the far lounge and the library has comfortable sofas to sit in for reading quietly, listening to music or watching TV.
The shady outdoor covered terrace has pretty tables and chairs ideal for bubbly evening meals and summer lunches. You can spend hours sitting in the shade relaxing and talking about the different markets you have visited in the week whilst tasting one of the many delicious rosés that are produced in the Luberon. The flowered courtyard is protected from the Mistral and many herbs grow wildly but orderly between the old stones.
Upstairs are three spacious sunny double bedrooms, each with its own luxurious bathroom (two bathrooms have both bath tubs and separate walk in showers, washbasins). The bedrooms all have spectacular views over the gardens, grounds and valley and are decorated in natural soft colors and fabrics. Beautiful curtains drape the windows and pretty bedspreads lay over the beds, adorable decorative objects adorn the dressing tables and walls. The floors of this superb farmhouse are a mixture of bleached wood and terracotta tiles, the natural stone walls and light colored furniture provide a pure cheerful atmosphere. Three bedrooms have queen size double beds and are in the main building. The fourth bedroom has a double size bed and en suite shower room and is accessible via the courtyard, ideal for young or older couples (no stairs) liking more privacy.
The Farmhouse swimming pool is set in a teak 'beach' with olive trees and cherry trees. There are sun loungers around the pool and parasols. The views from the pool and surrounds are breathtaking and you will think that you are on top of the World up here. If you come when the cherries are ripe you may pick as many as you wish from our cherry trees and also gather bunches of lavender when the summer sun has turned it blue and mauve.
This entire property is completely secluded and private, a haven of peace for those who wish to enjoy a lazy relaxing holiday in the Provence region and not too far from all the amazing perched villages with their lively markets and pretty little streets definitely worth the detour before coming back “home”.

A Little Bit of Heaven
From the minute we booked our time at this beautiful villa, Beverly helped us with all the details. She provided excellent directions, a day of cooking with Cosette and attentive follow up with any questions we asked.
We were welcomed our first night by her daughter, who showed us the villa details as well as providing a bottle of wine and some French treats, to make us feel at home.
The villa was very clean and well stocked with everything we would need to complete the perfect vacation.
We took day trips to surrounding towns and wineries, ending up back at the villa for a beautiful sunset or dip in the refreshing pool.
I have stayed at several villas in other countries. This is by far the most beautifully furnished, most comfortable and well taken care of villa, so far!
Beautiful home and wonderful location
This house exceeded all our expectations. The private location with beautiful views, fragrant gardens and a house equipped with anything you need to make the stay perfect. Beverly was fantastic responding to any questions and assisting us before and during our trip. Our only regret is we had only one meal made by Cosette. The meal was wonderful as was our entire stay. I can enthusiastically recommend this location and Beverly's services.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We are so pleased that you had a fabulous week and we hope to see you again soon.
The Best Rental Ever!
I have rented many lovely houses in both France and Spain over the years. Without a doubt, this house is the nicest. Everything about this beautifully restored farmhouse is first class. The privacy and views of lavender fields and olive trees are wonderful. The furniture, interesting art, and very well stocked kitchen all contribute to complete comfort and enjoyment. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about it. In addition, Beverly, the house manager, is terrific. From my first contact to the last, she has been remarkable. Her immediate response to questions, and her helpful hints about the area helped make our trip a huge success. In fact, she went out of her way to warn me of a possible labor strike that might close gas stations. Happily, I filled the tank in my rental car the day before most of the stations in the area were closed. I would not hesitate to recommend this house to my friends. I had a really special two weeks there.
Thank you Mary Ellen, it makes all our hard work worth it when we see how happy our guests are.
Hope to see you again soon.
We spent one week in this magical farmhouse and had an amazing time. I would highly recommend it and can't wait to return. The property is secluded and breathtakingly beautiful with a wonderful view of Murs in the distance. The lavender field on the property is spectacular. The house is lovely and impeccably updated. It exudes sophisticated French interiors and elegance with the charm of a country house. The photos do not do it justice! The home has two lovely, large living areas with fireplaces and a very large and exceptionally well-appointed country kitchen that has everything for the gourmet cook. We enjoyed everyone cooking together in this very spacious and beautiful kitchen. The house lives even larger as the terraces, outdoor dining area, and pool are lovely and surrounded by exquisite grounds and landscaping. We dined al fresco every night. The bedrooms are elegantly appointed and very comfortable. There are two masters with large bathrooms with showers and tubs, a smaller yet just as charming room with a small shower bath and a fourth small bedroom with a very small bath and it's own separate entrance on the ground floor. House is close to Gordes which is an amazing medieval town perched on a hillside that we went to every morning to get fresh croissants and fruit for breakfast. It has everything one would need for the week. The house was a great jumping off point to tour the Luberon and surrounding areas. Beverly was easy and delightful to work with and very responsive to our needs. The house does not have air-conditioning so can get toasty in sweltering heat, but for average warm days of summer, the thick walls keep it cool and there is a lovely breeze on the patio for delightful summer evenings. Would go back again to Mas do Roquejeane in a heartbeat!
A Gem in the Luberon
We spent a week in this wonderful house and will certainly return in the future. Despite being just a short 5 minute drive from the town of Murs, the Mas de Roquejeanne is completely private and wonderfully secluded. With spectacular views, its own field of lavender and access to wonderful hiking trails a visitor could be quite content never to venture far from the property.
The house itself is charming with beautiful interiors, elegant and extremely comfortable bedrooms, a fabulous kitchen and plenty of indoor and outdoor space for relaxed gatherings. The whole setup enabled us to effortlessly settle into a relaxed Luberon lifestyle for the duration of our stay. We left at the end of our trip with great reluctance and look forward to future visits.
"Merveilleux" in every way!
We spent a week at this property, and it was like something out of a fantasy. The house is absolutely stunning and exactly what we hoped a Provence farmhouse would be. The photos can't do it justice; you have to see it to believe it. The interior is first class, very tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen is incredible and very well equipped; if you like to cook, you will love this kitchen. The three main bedrooms are spacious and luxurious (we didn't use the fourth, smaller bedroom). The exterior of the house is beautiful, too: a charming stone building surrounded by professionally landscaped gardens, a pool, and views of the village of Murs and the valley below. Like something out of Provence Homes & Gardens magazine (if there is such a publication)! Finally, we would be remiss is we didn't mention the lavender field directly behind the house. It was in full bloom during our visit and truly spectacular. "Merveilleux" in every way.
Home Spa”- manicures, pedicures, massage or hair styling...we would be happy to put you in touch with our local contacts who will come directly to the house. “Special Requests”- whether it’s hunting for truffles, seeing how olive oil is made, beekeeping, winemaking, golf, tennis, babysitting or what have you...if we can put you in touch with the right person, we are more than happy to do so.
