About this property

Studio on the Bay.

A studio apartment sits on a hill. You will have to walk up stairs from the parking oad and a grassy hill (can be considered a mildly steep incline). Its also within a short walking or driving distance of three private beaches in our community. There is 1 bedroom with a queen size bed, spacious bathroom and closet. The living room has a pull out full size bed and a kitchenette. Coffee, teas, beach chairs, cooler, fishing poles and tackle are provided. Guests have access to the above garage apartment ( not the garage /basement),
Shared spaces and items:
Parking pad (each Cottage on the Bay & Studio on the Bay get ONE space EACH) this is a tight fit…two large vehicles will not fit comfortably, best suited for mid size to compact vehicles, additional parking can be provided ONE block away from the property, fire pit area/back yard, two kayaks and two paddle boards are available for use and are shared with Studio on the Bay guests.

Updated 8/28/2023: to include a 3 person Hot Springs Jacuzzi, this is a shared amenity. Sits on the back of the property behind the fire pit.

Being on the western shore provides amazing sunrises and lots of hiking nearby.

Fifteen minutes from Solomons Island (home of the Tiki Bar). An hour or so from DC, Annapolis and Waldorf.

Perfect retreat!

Everything was fantastic! Clean, well stocked with essentials, and close to the beach. Quiet neighborhood and only 15-20 minutes from many state parks. Great communication from the host throughout our stay. We will be visiting again!

Awesome stay

The studio was amazing! The location was perfect and exactly what we needed . It also had some nice added amenities ( kayaks, jacuzzi ) we truly enjoyed our stay.

I loved walking to the beach at sunset. And access to a larger beach for the day. Everyone friendly and a quiet nieghborhood. The stairs were quit interesting and you have to duck under a bush on top. But nice atomosphere and inside is nice as the pictures show.

Super cute!

We enjoyed this adorable studio apartment! It was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with gadgets. My 8 year old son used the futon in the living room and it was comfy. Also, we found more shark teeth on the bay than at Calvert!

Tranquil piece of Paradise!

Wow, it was the perfect cottage that landed us in peaceful Paradise. We had a wonderful time there and look forward to going back. A fabulous weekend getaway with spectacular views of the ocean.

Lovely beach cottage

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this property. It was stocked with everything we could need and more. Having the little sand beach nearby was a lot of fun and my son enjoyed catching crabs and little fish in the water. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Great location!

This was our first VRBO experience and these hosts set the bar high! The accommodations were very well appointed - everything was very well thought out, from the toiletries to coffee/snacks/food to beach chairs, kayaks, fire pit etc. A stones throw to the Chesapeake and close to great restaurants and Calvert Cliffs state park. We would definitely stay there again! Good job Joey & Jen!

Lovely stay

Beautiful spot for a relaxing trip. Went with my best friend and we spent lots of time walking and exploring. House is fully stocked so we were able to cook at home several times but we also found some great restaurants. Property owners lived nearby so they were quick to help which was nice. Highly recommend visiting!

Fantastic home-base for fossil hunting in Calvert!

We had a super comfortable stay and can't wait to come back next year! The owners thought of everything. Such a nice base for fossil-hunting at the community beach, Calvert Cliffs and Matoaka beach. We found a 17 million year old prehistoric White shark tooth!

Beautiful studio!

Beach Cottage Stay

From the moment I first booked this trip it was effortless and smooth communication! Not only is the cottage warm and inviting, but the view is beautiful and Joey and Jen go way above and beyond to keep you comfortable! Perfect little get away

Quiet, remote and beautiful bay views! I overpacked! Everything is provided…. We could have explored more of it wasn’t 96 degrees outside!! Beach good but the area offered so much more.

Perfect Getaway!!

Such a perfect getaway! We needed a change of scenery, and got just that! We walked the beach all the way from the neighborhood to the edge of Matoaka. It was a beautiful day! The beach house is perfectly and thoughtfully designed and set up!! Thanks so much!!

Cute place in a beautiful setting!

This was a wonderful place to get away, I wish we could have stayed longer! There's a nice but little beach right down the road. There's also multiple state parks with beach access not far away. We went to Calvert Cliffs (?) and it was stunning! The studio is cute and comfortable with many nice touches. Everything you might need is supplied, even things you don't think about! The bed was super comfortable and my adult daughter said the sleeper sofa was better than her bed at home! This place is definitely a keeper and we can't wait to go back!

Perfect Beach Studio

We had such an amazing time! The studio was everything we expected plus more. They provided so many extras like snacks, beach equipment, personal hygiene products, entrainment for children, wifi, Netflix, etc. All we needed to do was show up! Check in was easy. The neighbors were friendly. The environment was tranquil, and we could literally walk to a little beach in less than 2 minutes. It was the perfect place for our family of three to unwind, reconnect and spend quality time together. We definitely plan to return in the near future.

The property was beautifully maintained and well supplied, and the hosts were very responsive. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because the apartment is at the top of a very steep hill and flight of stairs. The kayaks and paddle boards are also at the top of the very steep hill and flight of stairs. We had been looking forward to using them, but there was no way we were going to haul them back-and-forth up those stairs. The stairs are mentioned in the house description, but really buried deep, and people that are not in peak, physical health need to keep that in mind when consider considering this location. If your knees or hips give you trouble, this might not be the place for you.

Perfect gem hidden by the beach

What a beautiful little gem hidden on the shores of Calvert beach. The description of the house was perfect and drew our attention when booking. In reality, it was even nicer. Can’t say enough how impressed we were. The house was decorated tastefully, and had everything we needed for a few day stay. Thank you for thinking of the small details that make you feel like you are at home. Location is everything. It is so close to the beach. The area is gorgeous. We took multiple trips to local parks and booked a paleontology fossil tour. My husband enjoyed a few rounds of golf nearby as well. We had a great time and appreciate you for making this such a pleasant experience. Those few days went by too fast!
