Silver creek cabin

Beautiful small cabin overlooking a working trout pond. Listen to the small waterfalls from silver creek into the pond. Cabin has amazing views and hiking trails into the national forest and we can’t wait to have you here. Be advised, cellphone service is very limited with most carriers and we do have wifi. Rainbow trout have just been refilled for the year and the owner feeds them daily, it’s such a great experience to watch them. They will swim right around the back deck, there’s also a fire pit in the front yard, very peaceful.

This is a perfect cabin for a couple looking for a quiet get away in the area. Single bed and bath with a porch right on the pond, we enjoyed watching the fish churn the water to a boil at feeding time. Although it may be small for a family, my wife and I had a wonderful stay here.

very cute little cabin! it can be slightly cold inside, but nothing a sweatshirt or a blanket can't fix! the waterfall and fish are a very relaxing touch, even if we did find out that fishing isn't allowed. the hot water was a bit finicky, but still manageable. all in all, it was a very pleasant experience.

It was unbelievable, a cabin 'not too far into' the woods just as I wanted and expected. It is rustic cabin camping, as long as you keep that in mind, you won't be disappointed. Everything provided was clean, and there wasn't anything I needed but food. The little trout stream next to the cabin led to hours of sitting with coffee or by the fire, listening to the water and the fish. The owner John, and his sweet potato Coco, provided fish food, and feeding them was an experience I've never had, and will always remember.

Cabin was exactly as described. Great location, the trout were fun to feed, owner John was very friendly. Perfect place to unplug because there is absolutely no service. The bathroom could have used a good cleaning, but otherwise the cabin was very comfortable.

The owner is a very nice man. My dad broke his foot the day before he and my mom were scheduled to leave to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. The owner was very accommodating and did not mind that a third person (me) had to join them so they had a driver. He even brought over a more rugged walker for my dad to use while we were there. The walker my dad had was very basic and the one we were allowed to borrow was so much easier for him to use. We all loved feeding the fish and learning about raising trout. We would definitely go back

Nice location but the cabin was very dirty and not stocked properly. Cobwebs through the cabin, mouse droppings on the kitchen counter, old coffee grounds in coffee maker, shower was very dirty, bathroom rugs dirty, kitchen trash can was dirty and we did find bags to put in it but it had trash in the bottom of the can. Smelled very musty. The only thing that looked like it was freshly cleaned was the carpet looked like it was freshly vaccuumed. Had to purchase toilet paper.

The manager messaged me letting me know the details. We had 1 small hiccup as i was the first of the year, as soon as a notified them if said issue, they responded immediately and fixed it. They are extremely friendly and kind. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a nice little get away. Oh and the waterfall is such an amazing feature while sitting out and reading.

We loved this property and would stay here again.

The view was beautiful, the home was clean, and the owner was wonderful. Would recommend to any couple looking for a quiet vacation spot.

Worked well for location of family event.

I had the most lovely time! The cabin was very sweet!! The scenery was gorgeous!! Very zen!! The owner was an absolute sweetheart and Cocoa won my heart instantly!! I wish I could have stayed longer. I hope to return in the future.

Relax in nature

Setting was beautiful, perfect for relaxing get away. John, the owner, brought fish food for us to throw into trout pond. And we got to visit with his dog, Cocoa, too! John was very responsive when needed.

Peaceful place

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was very peaceful and quiet. Very unique and pleasant surroundings, being right on the creek. We enjoyed hearing the creek at night as we slept, and drinking morning coffee over looking the trout pond. The place is very clean and easy to stay at. The owner is friendly and helpful. Feeding the fish is pretty fun! There are many beautiful places near here to visit and enjoy. We will definitely come back if we are in the area.

Cabin in the woods

We had a most relaxing time. If you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is a great place to start. John the owner lives across the creek, so if you’re in need of anything, just give a holler. His cute little dog coco was such a great greeter also. Would recommend if you’re looking for rustic.

Beautiful and entertaining stay. We did not realize we were adjoining a trout pond! The fish entertained us and we were glad we chose to reach out and meet the property owner! The location for our activities planned was very good. The only thing I would suggest to change is the address/location listed for the cabin. It was inaccurate. The property manager cleared this up with us but it was confusing at first.

The view was absolutely amazing. There was a small deck out back that overlooked the pond. It was a great place to do a little reading. And appropriately enough, on the morning of July 4 when I woke up and opened the blinds in the bedroom, I stared out at an eagle that was on the other side of the pond (I suspect that eagle was looking for breakfast... the pond was full of fish). You can't beat an experience like that!

This was a great get away. Its very laid back a peace...tranquility. there is no wifi, so if you really need it this isn't for you. You were able to receive text and phone calls. Communication is quickly responded to if there is a problem or a question. The owner of the property does live on the premises and he will supply us you with food to fed the fish. Wish I had a longer time there. Remember you are up north and are renting a cabin, not a hotel, but its nicely furnished and clean.

This is a great property that is right off the main road so you will have no problem finding your way to see other attractions in the area. There is are so many great local fishing opportunities as well as lots of small beaches to choose from anywhere from Hubbard lake to Negwegon state park right here in Black River that will show you a great view of Lake Huron, just gorgeous. We are just about 22 miles from Alpena or 30 miles to Oscoda. Great open skies to star gaze, phone service is spotty at this time unfortunately we are working to correct that. This property has great hiking trails out to the national forest with beautiful waterfalls and a deck off the back to grill your dinner. This is a working rainbow trout farm where the fish are fed daily by the local owner of the property.
