About the property

Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Peaceful, quiet, charming, this new Guesthouse/Casita in a private compound off of Acequia Madre offers a beautiful retreat in the heart of Santa Fe's historic Eastside. Architect designed in traditional Santa Fe style, with smooth plaster walls, fine woodwork, high beamed ceilings and skylights, the bright, comfortably furnished interior overlooks a lush garden planted to attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Help yourself to fresh herbs from the garden if you feel like cooking, or try one of one of Santa Fe's many outstanding restaurants instead. Enjoy a stroll along the 400 year old Acequia Madre, right outside your door.

One block from Canyon Road galleries, shops and restaurants, a short walk from the Plaza, downtown, Museum Hill, and the Railyard, take off from here to explore the best of Santa Fe on foot, through one of the most distinctive historic neighborhoods in the country. Don't hassle with parking during tourist season or special events like Indian Market or the Folk Art Festival. On Christmas Eve, walk out your front door to join in Santa Fe's spectacular Farolito Walk. A wonderful place to visit any time of the year!

About Margaret Denney

We have lived in Santa Fe since 1993. As architects and artists, we love the aesthetic appeal of Santa Fe's unique historic district and chose to live in this neighborhood because of that. Santa Fe's small town atmosphere combined with its wide range of cultural opportunities fits our lifestyle. We also appreciate the natural beauty of the area and the easy access to hiking, cycling, and winter sport opportunities.

Margaret Denney purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Margaret Denney chose Santa Fe

We think this location is simply the best in Santa Fe. Our guesthouse is tucked away in a lovely private compound in a beautiful, unique neighborhood, and provides easy access to all that Santa Fe has to offer.

What makes this cottage unique

One reason we chose to live in this spot is because we love to walk around Santa Fe. From our home we are minutes (on foot) from Canyon Road, the Downtown Subscription, the Plaza, museums and all of the shops, galleries, restaurants, and homes along the way.

Guestbook comments from the owner

A small haven within a larger haven (Santa Fe). I always felt it was like coming home.

Thank you Peg & Ken for it all.

Quintessential Santa Fe

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at the Casita! It was a perfect little space for a romantic getaway. The casita is in a little enclave of adobe homes and has so much character. Inside, we loved the high ceilings, cute little kitchen, well-appointed furniture/finishes, and the comfy bed. We made a delicious New Mexico breakfast each morning! This casita is in a beautiful location, a short walking distance to Canyon Street and all of the wonderful art galleries and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to our friends. Thank you for a delightful vacation!

Perfect Oasis

  • 5 of 5

This cozy casita is tucked away on a historically elegant, quiet street, offering a peaceful retreat. It was exactly as the pictures depicted, very open and airy and comfortable. The kitchen had everything I needed, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was roomy and highly functional. The owners, Peg and Ken have a beautiful garden right outside the front windows. It was an easy walk to the Canyon Road area. I walked to dinner at The Teahouse which serves delicious food, and is not so touristy. I would stay here again. Very nice place and people.
