We are fortunate to 'Live Aloha' everyday here in Maui and our goal is for our guests to 'Live Aloha' while they are visiting. Whether it's just another trip to Maui or the only trip you'll ever take to Maui, our mission is to make it special. Here's how we do that:

1) Check-in: We greet you upon your arrival at the Resort and personally check you into your suite. We show you where things are located within the Resort and also escort you to your room. In addition, we're there to show you where to register your car and where to park.(We don't have you pick up a key and then fend for yourself. (The front desk here does not check in VRBO guests.)

2) Service: We present each guest with a Welcome Aloha Package which includes a box of Maui chocolates, a bag of 100% Maui Grown Coffee, Aveda soaps, shampoo and a bottle of chilled champagne.

We also provide beach chairs and towels, boogie boards (good ones, not those Styrofoam ones), binoculars to watch the whales, free local and long distance calls to the Mainland U.S. and Canada, free wi-fi internet and the cleanest room at the Resort.

We are at the Resort all the time and live only 5 minutes up the street, so if anything should require our attention we are quick to respond.

3) Location: Our unit looks over the palm trees not thru them. Our Studio is 595 sf and located in the inner courtyard. With us you rent unit 623, you don't rent a category and find out what you get when you arrive at the front desk. With us you get actual pictures of the unit and the actual view from the unit. We don't zoom in with our photos.

Please compare to 1 bedroom units, there is only one stack of 1 bedroom units. (700 sf)in the inner courtyard in either building.

4) Price: We offer the most competitive price. Some units may be a little less expensive, but you will not have the location or the view or the service.

Other things to consider:

-25% TO 35% OFF RESORT MANAGEMENT RATES and all the SERVICE you'll need for a great getaway.

-No worrying about when the maid service is going to interrupt your day.

-We personally supervise the cleaning of this unit.

-Use of swimming pool, exercise room, concierge service, bell and valet service and

activities desk.

-The Staff at Honua Kai will treat you like your sitting in the first class cabin.

-Charge all resort costs on your credit card.

HONUA KAI- 'Honua' is translated from Hawaiian as the planet earth; it can also denote firm, stable ground.'Kai' is the South Pacific Ocean as seen from the shores of Kaanapali disappearing beyond the horizon, past Molokai and Lanai, and into what ancient Hawaiians called the 'Great Sea of Eternity'

Parking is free for 2017, however that is subject to change for 2018.

We will accommodate early check-in or late check out when the schedule allows. We understand that many flights arrive late morning and that many flights depart late at night. We were regulars on that red eye to San Francisco.

Lovely view and property

First time staying at Honua Kai. The unit had a lovely view and the grounds were well maintained. There is a boardwalk out front that stretches along the beach to Black Rock and on to Ka'anapali (through a resort) providing wonderful walking/running path.

Upon arrival, Joe was unable to meet me but he arranged for valet to let me into the unit. As I didn't have a walk through of the unit's features I had to rely on the two laminated information sheets to figure things out. What I couldn't decipher through the instructions, Joe was quick to respond with answers via texting.

The unit is pretty compact, but as I was traveling on my own on this trip, it worked out well. The kitchen offered all of the basics, and I didn't cook much so that was fine. I did wish there was a small serving bowl or two and a better wine opener. (It was the inexpensive plastic kind that are very difficult to use.) A number of plates/cereal bowls were heavily chipped. I was surprised that the kitchen wasn't just a little better outfitted for the price of the unit.

The lanai was wonderful! Spent a lot of time out there enjoying the gorgeous view. When not sitting outside, I could leave the "Nana" wall doors wide open to allow the warm breeze to come into the unit. A screen can be drawn across the opening to keep birds and other flying critters out if desired.

The pools are quite nice. Arrive early if you want a lounge chair near the pool's edge. I was there during high season so that was not surprising. Many, many kids there too - which didn't bother me, but know that there isn't an "adults only" area if you are used to that.

Dukes restaurant in on the property, right along the boardwalk and next to pools. Waiters will come through to take drink orders poolside - though when busy a little tough to track down. Easier to go directly to the bar if you want to grab something. At night they have live music. People would gather lawn chairs and blankets and sit on the grassy area behind the stage. Really fun atmosphere.

Parking can either be valet or self park. I parked in the underground garage with no issues. Try to grab a spot right as you enter so you are close to the elevators that goes straight up to the unit on 6. Aina Market on the main floor has great coffee and decent selection of food items, albeit quite pricey. Grocery store 5 minute drive away for larger shopping needs.

Awesome location

We have stayed at the Honua Kai 4 times, each time is just as great as the last one. The resort is in a great area and lots of beach to walk. The unit is clean, well kept and just as the pictures show. On our arrival to Maui, Joe kept in contact every step of the way, even while we were getting our rental car. We had a small issue with the dryer and it was fixed within the hour of us calling. Very professional~ The view is awesome! You can't go wrong renting this unit from Joe and his wife. We will rent again~~

Love Honua Kai and Maui

We recently stayed in this unit for our honeymoon and our first visit to Hawaii. The unit and the resort are both 5 star accommodations. The resort is convenient to anything you would want to do but removed just enough from the other resort areas to be very private and relaxing. The pictures represent the unit and the view perfectly. Joe met us when we checked in and showed us around. He actually text me prior to our arrival after we landed to check on our arrival time. Very personal service. The best part was on our last day there he was able to extend our check out time to allow us another day at the pool before our late flight left that night. Very impressive! The unit and the whole resort are immaculate and we absolutely had no complaints. Would definitely book from this owner and at this resort again.

I was very pleased with my stay with Joe and Rhonda. First off he is no nonsense and quick to provide support.

Joe had no silly rules, no silly expectations, just honest expectations and excellent support. I found him to be easy to get a hold of and flexible. If you are going to Honua Kai check Joe out FIRST!
