The Alley at North Beach *Bowling Alley & Pool*

Historic 5 Cedarwood Ave was originally constructed in 1910 as a library and bowling alley for Fort Screven on Tybee Island. Immediately adjacent to the Historic Tybee Barracks. The 2022 restoration of the building included 6 bedrooms (2 master suites), 4 full bathrooms, new modern bowling lane with automatic ball return and pin setter, bright white kitchen with Carrara marble counters and island, separate mini bar, in-unit laundry, a heated pool, and private yard.

This is the perfect multi-family getaway tucked in the historic Barracks area of North Beach on Tybee for up to 14 people total. The spacious main master suite in front of the cottage boasts a large en-suite tiled bathroom, large closet, 50" Smart Tv, and tall ceilings. The bunk room is the perfect hideout and quiet spot for kids and teens to get away. You'll find the main great room with wide open kitchen, bowling lane, dining area, and massive smart TVs the perfect family gathering spot to bowl, watch movies and sporting events, and relax after a long beach day or dip in your private pool.

The house has a second master suite with en-suite tiled bath tucked back in the corner which is a nice private retreat. Additionally, there are 3 more bedrooms on this side of the house; 2 queen bedrooms and a (2) twin bedroom.

The side yard is where the outdoor fun happens! A sizable heated pool, outdoor shower, lots of lounging space, a full bathroom, Tesla charger, and a commercial-grade ice maker, are all amenities to make your Tybee stay complete.

There is also an on-site Golf Cart that is separately rentable per day (rentable days are 10 am to 10 am). The link to rent the golf cart will be sent when a reservation is made for the house.

Pool Seasonality: The Alley Pool is open year-round. It is only heated on the following date range:
October 1 – December 15
March 1 – May 30
The pool is not and will not be heated from December 15 through March 1 as the air temps are too cool to maintain an adequate swimming temp.

We as owners and managers are happy to provide this fun amenity in the house and we work hard to maintain the functionality of the lane. Any damage to the lane or equipment will result in immediate cancellation of your stay and forfeiture of all monies paid, and fees to repair any said equipment will be assessed. *Any outage of the lane during your stay due to power outage, lane malfunction, equipment malfunction, etc, will not result in any refund of any monies whatsoever.*

We had a good time. The only disappointment was the pool had a lot of leaves. It was nice and warm and the younger adults enjoyed lounging and chatting. I’d suggest having a pool vacuum and or a cover.

We loved it here! Very thankful for the bowling alley especially in the rainy weather. Management is incredible, everything clean, pool warm and the property is in a really neat area. Bring your discs! Disc golf course is right behind the house

Great Stay

We stayed at the Alley for Spring Break. The house is adorable and slept all 10 of us comfortably. Location is a perfect walk to the beach and lighthouse. Kitchen is the most thoroughly stocked kitchen I have ever had in a rental but could use some oven mitts.

Fun house! Close to the beach!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Alley! Had a few issues with the bowling alley but they were fixed very quickly! We had so much room and really enjoyed the pool!

Tybee family fun.

We had 3 generations, 10 people total, and we had a blast. The bowling lane was a hit for all ages. The beach was close, the pool was perfect. The beds were all very comfortable! We all had a great time and would recommend The Alley to anyone going to Tybee!

The pool, bowling lane and location to the beach made this property ideal for our stay with 4 generations of families. We had 12 people total and used all the bedrooms-suggestion for 2 of the bedrooms- there are no closets so if you are staying a week in those rooms storage can be challenging.

Family time at the Alley

We had a great stay at The Alley! Everyone bowled their hearts out. Took us a few days to get the bedroom heat to work but that was user error on our part! lnitially we were bummed that the pool could not be heated due to the time of year and while we would have loved to have it, bowling took over! Our family of 12 came together to celebrate Christmas the week between Christmas and New Years. All agreed we would rent again!

Favorite Tybee House

We’ve come to Savannah, staying in Tybee for the last four years while our son was attending SCAD. We pick a different house each time (4-5 times a year). This trip was to celebrate his graduation and it was by far our favorite! Only bummed we didn’t discover it sooner. Although it’s historic, it is so well kept and has every amenity you’d like. The beds are super comfortable, the bathrooms renovated beautifully, the kitchen was well stocked and the pool and yard are so clean. We LOVED bowling (how cool!) but also the short walk to the beach. The screen porch sat us all comfortably. We didn’t use the golf cart, but really appreciated the ice maker in the garage. I typically can see a few things I would do differently, but not here! This place had it all!

The Ally - Tybee Island

The Ally on Tybee Island’s North End is as advertised. And more. The house, which appears from the street to be a modest cottage, is as capacious as, well, a bowling ally. And until our family spent a week in this recently updated property we didn’t really appreciate how large a space a regulation lane requires. The space works well. It’s nicely organized. It’s a given that it’s a unique experience, and we may have spent more time than strictly necessary obsessing on one activity - bowling. But it was a blast. The property is beautifully kept. The Rendezvous team readily accessible and helpful. And we did find time to enjoy the lovely back yard by the pool under the shade of a live oak, as well as to put the nicely outfitted kitchen (with help of the Weber grill) through its paces. Washer dryer in kitchen area, high & low outdoor shower for beach clean up and industrial ice maker in garage were handy amenities. Couple of reality check points: bowling is as loud as it is addictive (which is why you will feel good complying with Tybee noise ordinance requiring 9 pm shut down on that activity) and the pool is lovely but relatively small. We had a great time.

House worked well for our family. Bowling lane was fun to use during our stay. It would have been nice to have a few games available in the house and another little seating area (just one big sectional is available for comfortable seating). We appreciated the pool being heated for us. It was still a little chilly due to the air temps, but we were able to use it a little. Great historic house.

Perfect blend of relaxation and city convenience

We loved our stay at this home with its incredible location, just a short walk from the beach and 20 minutes from downtown Savannah, it offered the perfect blend of relaxation and convenience. The property itself was well-equipped with comfortable beds, all necessary bathroom & kitchen items and air conditioning worked well. We had a lot of fun with the bowling alley and outdoor pool. We would definitely come back again!
