mountain views, walk to plaza, urban wildland interface
Two story home built into hillside, 2 Bedroom, (Sleeps 5), 1 Bath. Private entrance and parking for guests, owners, Chris & Joseph split time between San Diego and Santa Fe in downstairs area. Private roof top deck with BBQ for guests and patio with shade most of the day from a few young and 70 year old pinon trees!
10 minute walk to plaza for great restaurants! 25 minutes to drive up to the Santa Fe Ski Basin on clear roads. Minimum lease period is 30 days and this property does not require a Santa Fe Short Term permit. My late father, Edward Quintana and many friends & family helped to complete the construction, built this home in 1958. It is a very special home - fully remodeled in 2009. My parents cound not afford new furniture back in 1960, they elected to have many pieces hand made by an unknown crafter from Chimayo, New Mexico. We have added newer pieces, providing a comfortable and welcoming stay. The home is in a quiet neighborhood that is amazingly close to all of the attractions that make Santa Fe so unique. We wanted a space with lots of natural light and warm and inviting rooms that would also be ADA compliant. This vacation rental incorporates a lot of art from local artists, including carvings from Ben Ortega, paintings from Vallie Weingarten, Sebastian Picker, and water colors by Ann Marie Trapp. One stay and your too will appreciate the wonderful aspects that this special Santa Fe home has to offer. Sorry we can no longer accept pets.

We wanted a place to settle for a month or so within walking distance of the Plaza AND the pickleball courts at Fort Marcy Rec. Great experience with the owners and a lovely 2 bedroom unit to watch the sun set after many hiikes and pickleball sets.

We are happy that you enjoyed your time and also we’re close to the courts and actually that whole complex is pretty great with exercise paths, swimming, and a weight room. Thank you for refilling our bird-bath, as I’m sure you could tell we have a lot of visitors, including the mule deer.
We loved our stay in this casita on a hill overlooking Santa Fe. There are amazing views of the city and sunsets from the deck. I’m an artist, and the beautiful art collection and hand crafted furnishings in the home made our stay even more enjoyable.
This is a wonderful place to stay in Santa Fe. It's convenient for walks to the Plaza and about a mile from Canyon Rd which I found to be a very enjoyable walk.
I was by myself for some of the visit and felt safe in this home and neighborhood.
The kitchen has high quality appliances, cookware, etc. which made it easy to cook meals when I wanted. The other furnishings in the house are very comfortable.
The sunsets on the back deck are unbeatable.
Communication with the hosts was great (they live downstairs with a separate entrance); at the same time they gave me complete privacy.
I have no complaints and would rebook this site.

Thank you for the review! We invite you to stay upstairs anytime! You are a great visitor! Chris&Joseph
My wife and I booked Christopher's place for the entire month of August. Christopher was incredibly accommodating, providing an extra table for both of us to work from the house while here and even bringing in a portable air conditioner due to the unseasonably hot temperatures.
The house is very well set up for a long term stay, the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and every cooking utensil you would need. The location is perfect, less than a 10 minute walk to dozens of restaurants in the center of town and just a short 15 minute drive up Artist road and you are in the middle of a mountain wilderness with endless hiking, mountain biking and picnic opportunities. We would definitely stay here again!

Superb and cozy adobe home
My wife and I really enjoyed our one month stay in Chris and Joseph's home. It's well appointed, spacious and clean, solidly built, perfect for a couple, yet has a second bedroom. It's a relatively short walk down to the plaza on Otero St. The neighborhood is quiet, with off street parking for two cars, nobody across the street or to the sides. We loved the outside deck on top of the building below (where our hosts live when they have guests) with a clear view of the sunset and western horizon. We'd recommend this place to anyone, with hosts who will be quite attentive to your needs, though quite discreet in their manner. We'll be back! We love Santa Fe, the food, the arts, the nature, the cultural mix. What's not to love?

We’re happy you enjoyed the stay! Let us know when you plan to return! Chris & Joseph
My husband and I spent 2 wonderful winter months at Chris and Joseph’s lovely Santa Fe home before we were chased back home by COVID-19. It truly felt like our home away from home. The online photos just can’t do it justice. It was clean and comfortable and thoughtfully laid out. It was very nicely appointed, from the Santa Fe art on the walls to the wide selection of books on the shelves to the comfortable, locally made furniture. It seemed newly renovated and was very well kept. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook as we would at home… that is, when we weren’t tempted out by Santa Fe’s great restaurant scene. The location couldn’t be better: the street is quiet but it was very easy to walk to just about everything of interest in town. The mountain views and the sunsets were spectacular. Because we were there in the winter, the sun was setting about the time we ate dinner and we had a little competition for the best sunset viewing seat. We enjoyed the fireplace on colder days. Chris was a very responsive host, making sure we got settled and checking in periodically during our stay without being intrusive. If you have a chance to come to Santa Fe, DO. If you can stay here, perfect!

we are both happy that you enjoyed your stay and are welcome to return and stay with us again! Take care of yourselves, stay safe.
This little gem was my home for a month and I loved it. The owners are very respectful of your privacy but are available anytime you need them.
The kitchen is well stocked with very nice “everything” you will need. Plus, you can do dishes in the evening and watch the sun set!
You have a beautiful view of the sunsets from every room in fact. And outside the dining room window, a beautiful tree where hundreds of birds visit the feeder (not all at once) 😊
I had bunnies and deer visit the yard as well as a few dogs who were being walked by very friendly neighbors.
You can walk to the plaza, or the park, or the Cross of the Martyrs and it’s a 5 minute drive to the great grocery stores nearby. Make sure to visit Ecco coffee on Marcy St. They’re the best.
Thinking about what to write in this review is making me ‘homesick’ for Campana!
You have all the details in the listing so I’ll just say, you can’t go wrong renting this place from Chris and Joseph. What you see in the listing is what you will find when you arrive. I hope I can stay again someday.

Thank you for your review, Jana Runge. We hope you can return to Santa Fe and are invited to stay again in our home for the next visit! This neighborhood, the people and Santa Fe in general is why we moved back into town (this is my 3rd return). Thank you again.
The North Hills VRBO home was a dreamy escape during my stay in December. True to its description, every detail of the house was considered, high quality, and beautiful. The views from every room of the home (even the shower!), were stunning, and the location itself was just a short and safe 10 minute walk to the square. The hosts were quick to communicate on every need or question, and the experience overall was incredibly comfortable and exceeded my expectations. I can't recommend this lovely home more.

Comfortable home, ideal location, great views, lovely neighbourhood
I can't say enough good things about this holiday home. When I was searching for a month-long rental in Santa Fe for the month of December, I was attracted by the price, pictures, and location. When I read the reviews, it seemed almost too good to be true, but I went for it. I held my breath as I walked through the front door...but it was even better than expected! The house is beautifully decorated, and such a comfortable size. The views are fantastic, and it truly is a short walk to the Plaza. A walk up to the Cross of the Martyrs became a routine for clearing my head and taking the beauty of the area. Chris and Joseph are ideal landlords: warm and friendly, helpful, and non-intruding. I hope to have another opportunity to stay in this home in the future.

Comfortable, very convenient, and very quiet.
We love staying at Chris’ house. We have visited over many years returning because we are very comfortable at the house. It is an easy walk to the plaza, as well as, a short drive to the opera. Chris is very responsive if there is anything needed. It is a warm and welcoming place. We are grateful that we can stay there.

Peaceful abode with scenic views!!
This vacational rental was one of those that was even better in person. Very clean and tastefully decorated!! There is a beautiful hill top view of the mountains from the living room , with a sliding glass onto the patio-perfect for evening dinning! The kitchen was stocked methodically and made cooking easy!
The house walls are lined with beautiful south west paintings and charming shelfs with interesting books.
This house was a pleasure to vacation at!!

Beautiful house in a perfect location
We had the pleasure of staying here over Christmas and it was great! I'm originally from Santa Fe, so I wanted some place with a great location for our visit. The house, especially the kitchen and bathroom, have been updated very well. I love the mix of flooring and design throughout. And they'd even decorated a bit for the holidays, which was a thoughtful touch.
Chris and Joseph were super helpful while we were there, always responding quickly anytime we had a question. And understanding that we had a toddler traveling for the first time who wasn't always super thrilled with her new routine and vocal about that.
We'd love to stay here again when we make it back to Santa Fe, maybe for Fiestas one year since the location is perfect for walking to Zozobra!

Great family stay
Our family enjoyed this property immensely. Nice central location with easy access to the best of Santa Fe. We enjoyed the nearby park as well to exercise both the kids and dog. It's very nice to cook your own meals and rent a dvd from the nearby dvd rental store.
I rented this house for the week of Spring Break 2012. It was our first trip to Santa Fe. We had five people in our party - me, my husband, my mother, and our three kids (7, 4, & 1). I expected this house to be nice based on prior reviews, and it was even better than expected. The house was immaculate, beautifully decorated and renovated, and had amazing views of the mountains from every room. It also had a small yard that my kids loved to play in, and a hill behind it that led us on a very nice nature walk and featured even more amazing mountain views. It was easy to walk from the house to the Plaza, and there is a playground/park on the way so the kids burned off energy there. The house was also very close to the road to the ski mountain (Artist Rd.), which was handy as we took the kids up to a snowy area there to play and sled. As for amenities, there is a flatscreen TV (with cable) above the fireplace in the living room, a dishwasher, nice frig, microwave, coffee maker, and gas stove (and cooking equipment) in the kitchen, and a HE washer/dryer in the bathroom. The owners, Chris and Joseph, were very nice and accommodating and Chris was quite helpful when we locked ourselves out of the house one of the nights we were there (they live in an apartment below the rental house so they are very close by if there is a problem). Another thing to note is the very affordable price - we felt like we were getting a steal compared to what the surrounding hotels (with much less room and less amenities) were offering. We loved Santa Fe and this house and I recommend both highly!

Wonderful, modern, clean and perfectly situated!
My husband and I (and our dog) stayed here for a relaxing vacation this winter, and we could not have been happier with our stay! We've used VRBO before with mixed results (one terrible experience with a neurotic homeowner in Malibu who dropped in on us daily), but this was definitely a four-star experience! Private, situated in a gorgeous neighborhood a short walk from the main drag, the house is modern, clean, has a *great* bathroom and tub and very nicely furnished and decorated with local art and mid-century furniture. We couldn't have been happier! Nice, cool owners who obviously know what they're doing. We had a problem with a breaker needing to be re-set and they fixed it right away. We'll definitely be back if/when we're in Santa Fe again!

Topnotch vacation rental
We stayed for 3 nights in April 2011 with our teenage daughter. Everything was as nice or better than the photos. Quality furnishings and linens, gourmet kitchen appliances and cookware, very tasteful interiors. Everything clean and luxurious like a full-service hotel. Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants but in a quiet neighborhood. Only a short drive to excellent grocery stores. And Joseph is a gracious, helpful host. We definitely recommend this house and location.

Great Location for Skiing!!
The owners were family and dog friendly & the house was very clean and modern with great amenities! Our party consisted of two couples, two one year-olds, and two dogs... and it worked out great. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking many meals and there was plenty of space for playing and hanging out. The neighborhood was quaint and quiet and only a short walk to downtown (even closer to the gelato/espresso shop - yum!). It was about a 30 minute drive to Santa Fe Mountain.

Comfortable Home
We spent Thanksgiving 2010 in Santa Fe in this lovely home. It had everything you can ask for ~ even a bottle of wine waiting. The location was a perfect distance from the plaza. The view from the home was nice and we especially enjoyed the quietness of the area. Since the weather was quite cool, we so enjoyed the fireplace every day. It was so nice to have firewood stacked. Everything about this home was wonderful! We would love to stay again when we return to Sana Fe. We left feeling relaxed and refreshed!

We had an amazing time!
We couldn't have been more pleased with this house! It was a great size, in a wonderful neighborhood, awesome view, and very clean! It was indeed only about a 10-15 minute walk to the Santa Fe Plaza, and we also drove to Albuquerque while we were there, and it was about 50 minutes. I don't think you could get a nicer place for the price. When we go back to Santa Fe, we will definetely want to stay here again!

2 months in Santa Fe
I just finished a fantastic two-month stay in this wonderful Santa Fe home. The location is perfect... close to downtown yet completely quiet. The house is nestled on a quite block and the view of the mountains and the sunset is incredible. The house is extremely well kept and the owners have impeccable taste. Since I was in the house for most of the summer, I can report that the kitchen is fantastic (brand new!), the beds are all comfortable, the TV is huge (for rainy days!), and the house feels like an all-around home away from home, without the clutter and too-personal stuff so many renters leave lying around. I was very happy there and I would rent the house again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

Fun for all seasons
A meticulously kept property, with a modern southwestern motif, comfortable and spacious. A short distance from downtown Santa Fe, restaurants, galleries and shops. Just down the hill from the local ski resort. Located in a quiet neighborhood, with a scenic mountain view.
An excellent rental for all seasons. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
