Welcome to your idyllic Catalina cottage escape! Nestled in the heart of Avalon on Clarissa Avenue, this charming abode is two flat blocks from the beach and market and an easy walk from the Catalina Express. Step inside and be greeted by warm, inviting interiors adorned with Catalina artwork, wood floors, ceiling fans, and a cozy fireplace. The well-equipped kitchen boasts a commercial 6 burner gas cooktop, convection oven, dishwasher, microwave and a coffee station to fuel your mornings. Gather around the dining table for memorable meals or relax in the living area, where you can unwind after a day of exploring the island. When the sun beckons, head outdoors to your private upstairs deck, complete with a grilling area for alfresco dining experiences. Fully furnished, including all linens and towels, toys and books for the kids, a Pack N Play, booster seat and a wagon. Everything you need for the beach is here, too - chairs, umbrella, sand toys, floats and beach towels. This delightful cottage is close to all the town has to offer and whether you're seeking outdoor adventures, cultural attractions, or simply a relaxing retreat, this home provides the perfect base for your Catalina getaway!

The host requires you complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Used towels can go in the bathtub or leave on towel bars.
If the sofa bed is used, please place sheets and pillows on top of the little dresser on the hallway and return blankets and the foam pad to the linen closet in the yellow bedroom.
Close umbrellas on deck and turn off thermostat in hallway, if used.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No one is allowed on the actual roof of the home. Please respect our home and ensure safety for your guests.
Close deck umbrella when not in use due to wind gusts. Broken umbrella or damage to the deck will result in a charge.
Fireplace is currently inoperable. The thermostat for the heat is in the hallway and it warms up the house quickly. Please turn off when departing.

I would absolutely book this charming house again! The home is just lovely, very clean and tidy and the owners are top notch. The location is perfect - easy walk from the dock and super convenient to stores, restaurants, even mini golf!

The cottage was perfect for our extended family. The living room was great and accomodated all of us. We loved having the game table as well. Perfect location for easy walk to town, especially with the kids. Very close to grocery store as well. We were 6 adults and 2 children and it was the perfect space for us. The upgraded kitchen appliances were great. During a longer stay we would use the kitchen even more.

We had a great stay at the Summer Love Cottage! Our small group of longtime friends was celebrating the first to turn 60 - and this was the perfect spot for it! Great location in the flats (just two blocks from Vons and three or four blocks from the main strip) nice big windows to watch the golf carts and friendly islanders go by. Plenty of kitchen supplies, clean sheets and towels, and a very homey and cozy beach feel. Kathy and Linda were easy to communicate with and super accommodating. We will be back!

This cottage suits our family well. It's in a great location, the living area is big enough for all to hang out, and the deck is awesome. The host is very nice, and responsive to any issues that may come up. We have stayed here several years in a row and will continue to do so.

Charming house with the best location

The house was very cute and perfect for a group stay. Had a large living room for everyone to gather in, a great upstairs deck area. The best part though was the location. A 5 minute walk to the main areas of Avalon, but far enough so that you weren’t right in the middle of the noise. Would definitely stay there again!

Love The Summer Love Cottage

We absolutely loved the Summer Love Cottage! This place is beautiful, quaint, clean and very charming. When we walked into the house, we immediately felt a sense of warmth and comfort. The front room and dining area is a spacious open floor plan. It is well lit with light coming in from a wall of windows lining the front of the house. A very well appointed kitchen that connects to a bathroom which is connected to a bedroom. With a total of three bedrooms, the other two bedrooms, have a shared bathroom. The jewel of the house is the rooftop entertainment area. What a treat. A very large well furnished deck with a great dining area, barbecue, lounge chairs and not to mention some pretty awesome views. Our family really enjoyed spending time up there. The location is perfect. It is within walking distance to everything in town. Kathy was so kind and accommodating. Communicating with her from the start was easy which made our stay even more enjoyable. Would love to stay here again. Thanks again for everything!

Great place to stay in Avalon

Terrific home that lives larger than it looks! Its clear this home has been cared for lovingly over the years. Brand new kitchen appliances invited family meals - we enjoyed grilling up on the deck and dining outside. Easy walk from the boat & great proximity to Vons (gorgeous store!) and beach. We hope to be back. Owners were responsive and kind. Highly recommend.

The perfect beach house!

Summer Love Cottage is the realization of a family dream to own a vacation home on Catalina Island. We all grew up coming here on family boats and even owned a mooring at one time but now are landlubbers! A mother-daughter team (Linda & Kathy) manage the home.

Why they chose this property

We loved the cottage look, the spacious front room for family gatherings and those big windows. They had been painted shut for decades and after much work, we were able to get them to slide open again!

What makes this property unique

Large, open living room with two tables so one can be used for playing games or doing a puzzle. Light and bright kitchen is fully stocked and has a commercial 6 burner range. The griddle makes perfect pancakes! The deck is a perfect place for an outdoor meal or just hanging out to enjoy the mountain views. The dining room table seats 6, the game table 4 and the deck table 8.
