About the property

2 Floor Loft, 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, sleeps four

The loft is like a Raven's Nest in nature. The Raven's cry from it's nest can be heard for miles, though its very unlikely one would ever find it. The Loft is a place like this, where you can stay in the abundance of nature that is Tofino, though invisible as you want to be. The Loft is your retreat, whether your plan is to write, paint, or rest and rejuvenate, it's a perfect nest.

The 20’ floor to ceiling windows are a portal into the elemental beauty of Clayoquot Sound. The vista to the west looks to Vargas Island and the most amazing sunsets you can imagine, then looking North, you see the white crested peaks of Vancouver Island's Coastal Mountains.

Wake with the dawn as the light filters into loft. As the day awakens, sense your energy inspired by the landscape of the rugged West Coast. Watch nature come alive as dawns light breaks over shades of green flora and fauna and the oceans turbulence forces the ranging shades of blue.

Sitting on the balcony as the day unfolds is a pallet of colour, movement and energy. Eagles, gulls, sea otters, seals are just some of what you can see from the loft overlooking the harbour front seaside.

The loft is tastefully West Coast, appointed by JC Scott Eco-Design and is accented by Northwest Coast First Nations art. The centerpiece which is a 19' red Cedar totem. The living room fireplace, the natural wood finishes, and comfortable furnishings create a mood for quiet contemplation.

The loft has everything you need to make your vacation a special time in Tofino.

Located on Main Street in downtown Tofino, everything is local and within walking distance. Staying in to preparing a special meal from the freshest of ingredients that await you on the doorstep of Clayoquot. This 5 star property provides a gourmet kitchen with Miele appliances including stove, oven, washer, dryer, dishwasher, Sub-Zero fridge, wine cooler, microwave, and garborater. The kitchen has all you need to prepare a gourmet meal.

If you prefer dining out in Tofino's mecca of hotspots, a five minute stroll you can be at Kuma, Schooner, Shelter, SoBo or Wolf in the Fog.

About Tom Olsen

A contemporary space with a collection of Northwest Pacific Art from First Nations and other local artists.

Tom Olsen purchased this condo in 2010

Why Tom Olsen chose Tofino

Tofino is a natural wonder on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. It has its own unique charm as it has transitioned from a sleepy resource based town of forestry and fishing to what is today: a bohemian surf hangout and culinary mecca. Having a place here allows me to connect to nature and continue to be inspired by the art I've collected. Longer stays allow for time to rest and rejuvenate.

Tofino has a range of amenities for those that want to be doing; whale watching, Hot Spring Tours, Cougar Annie’s Garden, fishing, surfing, hiking, beachcombing. For those that are less inclined and just want to be; Tofino is great for this as well.

What makes this condo unique

Tofino sits on the Edge of the World and looks out upon the open Pacific from one side and into the mysteries of Clayoquot Sound from the other. Like Tofino, the Raven's Nest is an elemental portal into Natures tapestry, a place to view the ever changing panorama of Clayoquout from the luxury of a space of understated elegance.

stunning condo with breathtaking views

  • 5 of 5

If you want the best in Tofino, look no further. This modern yet warmly decorated loft I could easily call home. The double story floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall glass windows look out to the water, islands and mountains beyond. By day watch the float planes, fishermen, seagulls and tour boats come and go from the harbor right from your bed, living room or the outside patio deck. Stargazing at night was incredible. In general I always enjoy trying new places but this is one vacation home I sincerely hope to be able to stay again. First class, 5-stars!

Amazing, luxurious suite in the perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

Incredible home in an incredible location! It is difficult to leave this superb suite even to explore the rest of Tofino’s charms. The views are enchanting, whether watching all the harbour activities or just contemplating the scenic vistas through the huge glass walls or from the comfortable patio deck. Dealing with the owner was a breeze. A warm welcome from Helen started us off and the delights of the accommodations just kept coming. A great kitchen (also with the view) is fully equipped and the loft is a delight to see. The indoor Totem Pole certainly added to the modern and comfortable décor. Parking, access and nearby amenities couldn’t be more convenient. This is in the centre of town yet quiet and secure. This visit to Tofino will win all hearts. The best of everything.

Beautiful, relaxing spot to enjoy Tofino for a week

  • 5 of 5

Loved this property. Was worried about the commotion of being downtown (had previously stayed on Chesterman Beach), and though it was busy during the day, it was very quiet at night and lovely for different reasons during both times. My toddler loved to watch the seaplanes, boats, seals, eagles, and people through the glass railing of the patio. We enjoyed many breakfasts and dinners on the patio, watching the sunset from inside or outside. Instructions on working the grill and where to leave keys would be great for future guests.

Absolutely Stunning

  • 5 of 5

From the front door this condo is in "downtown" Tofino. A short walk from most restaurants and activities. Once inside you are on Clayoquat Sound. Huge windows and a large patio provide an excellent view of the harbour and the Sound.

The condo is stunning and well equipped.

I could not offer any higher recommendation.

100% Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

My adult daughter and I met at the Raven's Nest for a week-long reunion in Tofino. We were blown away by how amazing this place is! The accommodations, furnishings, decor and environment are first-class luxury. Not having a TV made re-connecting so easy and natural; we were both thankful not to have the distraction. The view from the deck (and loft bedroom) is awe-inspiring. I did a lot of research into this trip and I can say, having now been at the Nest that this is hands-down the best place to be in Tofino. The action in the harbour below the deck is non-stop. We saw seals, sea lions, daily Bald Eagle sightings, Kingfishers, and a lovely family of Sea Otters, while overlooking the water. Lots of fabulous restaurants and most services are all within a very easy walk, as were the many tours we booked. Tofino is a place where the water is everything. Sea kayaking, paddle surfing, deep sea fishing, whale watching, float plane rides, even Tofino Beach, etc., are all within easy reach and each excursion is worth doing. You do not need a car, unless you are hoping to explore the Pacific Rim National Park trails and beaches, which are also accessible by town bus and worth at least a one-day visit. Tom and Christine were wonderful to deal with; professional, efficient and helpful. I cannot stress enough, that this is THE place to stay in Tofino.

Beautiful property in the Town of Tofino

  • 4 of 5

We have been to Tofino many times and have always stayed on the beach. We wanted to see what it was like to stay in town and this is the first time we have done so. Lucky for us as this was a great place to stay. We arrived a bit late the first evening because, although we live in Victoria, we had flown in from a weekend in Alberta and our plane had been delayed. This was no problem for Tom and Christine, and they were very accommodating. When we woke up the next morning, the views from the condo of Meares Island and Clayoquot (a protected Unesco site) were breathtaking. Eagles flew over our patio every day. The comings and goings of fishing trawlers, excursion boats and float planes were better than watching t.v. And speaking of t.v., although there isn't one in this condo, you won't miss it at all. There is too much to do and see in Tofino to bother with t.v. I took our teenage daughter to Mermaid Tales, the amazing local bookstore, and she read the whole time we were there (when she wasn't surfing or shopping in one of the cute local shops). The condo itself was lovely and the photos almost don't do it justice. And yes, you can lay in bed and enjoy the view - a real treat. We love to cook, and the kitchen and barbecue exceeded what you find in most vacation rentals. The only hitch for us was that the wifi didn't work well but Tom is aware of that and I'm sure it will be rectified (as best it can, as Tofino in general does not have good wifi). This is the only reason I didn't give the property 5 stars. I would certainly recommend this vacation rental.
