Depends on your Point of View, whether this is the beach house for you - located in St. Teresa Beach which is about 15 miles from Ochlockonee Bay, Carrabelle or Sopchoppy with nothing around for miles. Nestled under the pines with lots of shade, this home has a large wraparound screened porch with a meandering path to the 100' white sandy beach. Located on the Gulf of Mexico with protected waters - Alligator Point is just to the south - great area for the little ones and for fishing and floundering. The 3BR/2BA home has lots of room for the whole family with a bunk room on the lower level with two twins and a full bed. Step just outside the living area onto the porch for the main bath. Just around the corner, still inside the screened porch, you will find the steps leading upstairs to two more bedrooms (one with full and two twins; the other with two twins) and a half bath. Families with younger children enjoy this setting. Surf fishing or kayaking is very popular in this area. We are specially known for the Trout and Red Fish in this area. Lots of activities going on all around but off the beaten path for privacy. Come let us show you how wonderful our beaches are, without all the crowds. We now have internet.

Rundown and dirty
This place is rundown and dirty. The photos in the discription must be 5+ years old. There is no Wi-Fi. The driveway is nearly impassible because of the overgrowth. The house is full of spiderwebs and the floors have not been washed in some time. The provided kitchenware is a joke, everything is warped and peeling. Don't waste your money.
Horrible house, wonderful area...don’t waste your money on this house, but def stay in the area!
Let me first say that this area of the forgotten coast is wonderful. This house, not so much. We thought it would have a rustic charm, but when we got there we quickly discovered it was just run down, unclean and uncared for. The first night in the kitchen we were running from mice. The French doors didn’t lock properly. This caused a problem since our children were downstairs and we were upstairs. My husband had to tie the handles together to ensure their safety.
We rented from Sunday to Sunday. On Monday they sent a maintenance man out to fix a leaky kitchen sink, replace the toilet upstairs and something else. I told him he could come back after we were gone. That is completely rude and inappropriate. Things of this nature should be fixed on the rental companies time not our vacation time.
The lay out of the house is horrible. The bathroom is outside in the porch. This is the only shower. Not the best for 9 guests. Upstairs has a shower and a sink. The iron water tastes and smells bad.
The only saving grace was the porch. It wrapped around 3 sides of the house and was a perfect area for the kids to play. However, the air conditioner (was extremely cold which was nice) was right outside the porch and you couldn’t hear the ocean due to the noise.
The beds and sheets were old, stained and just there so they could rent the house out. Flooring was coming up and the closets were filthy. You sure couldn’t put any clothes in them for storage. In fact there was no real clothing storage at all. That’s fine if you don’t mind living out of your suitcase for the week.
The garbage can is at the end of the driveway and you better drive or put on a whole bottle of bug spray to take the garbage out. We also had issues with animals getting into the garbage can and garbage was everywhere.
The kitchen had a few items, but fully stocked is an overstatement. We didn’t even have enough forks for everyone each meal. Had to buy disposable everything (which meant more garbage).
The walk to the beach was great and the beach itself was fabulous. If you want to stay in this area I highly recommend it, just find a better house. The low tides were awesome for small children and adults to play in. It’s very remote so grab everything you need beforehand. St. George’s island is only 40 miles away.
I leave reviews on every place we stay and this is the first time I’ve left a 1 Star. Unfortunately this house was very deserving of such a review. Hope it is helpful. ~Meg
Beautiful secluded beach!
Our family loved the feel of the old home. If you want a relaxing vacation away from high rise condos and a lot of people, this is great. We will definitely be back.
We had a great trip! Plenty of room outside to play, beautiful beach, and plenty of room inside. Honestly the owner’s pictures don’t do it justice. It is a classic Florida home in a very natural setting. So comfortable and a well stocked kitchen! I wish I was drinking coffee on the porch in one of the rocking chairs right now!!!
A little slice of heaven
This home far outweighed my expectations. I knew from the pictures that it was going to be a warm, homey vacation spot, but I had no idea how cozy it would be. When my family and I arrived we were truly taken back by the character and charm of this place. Every place we looked there was a little piece of Florida history or a little piece of something salvaged and repurposed. It was wonderful! The wrap around porch was grand and the privacy we had was magnificent. We could not have asked for more. We will absolutely be booking this one again. We simply fell in love.
Thank you so much for the review. I am so glad you liked your stay, please call and book again. We love this piece of heaven as well and really enjoy the privacy.Thank you so much for booking our place and we hope to see you again.
We really enjoyed our week in this "old Florida" house. We loved the privacy, wonderful view, yard with pine & palm trees, wraparound porch, the hammock ~ most everything about it. It's close to lots of nature areas to explore. It's not a tourist area so don't expect restaurants, shopping, entertainment, etc nearby. If you're looking for a peaceful cozy getaway this is it. We've already booked our next stay!
Thank you for your great review. We want everyone that stays with us to have a wonderful experience. We hope we will see you again for your next vacation.
