Location is perfect. Down at the end of the island. Less traffic, but close enough to walk to shopping and restaurants. Unit was also very well stocked. Ocean was colder than I had planned. Too cold to swim.
My husband and I stayed at Beachy Keen for a week in June, 2017. We love the location which gives us a view of the beach as well as quick access to it. The extra bedroom and bathroom provided privacy for my son who joined us for a few days. Beachy Keen was neat and clean and the owner is readily accessible in case of a problem and response is very quick. The deck provides a shaded area to sit in the afternoon to read or relax while still having the ocean, dunes and beach in sight. We found all the accommodations more than satisfactory. It could use some updating but the view and location made up for what was lacking.
This property is our favorite stay on Tybee Island. Betty is awesome to work with and her duplex is in a great location to the beach. Very clean and comfortable. It is everything it says it is in the description and more.
Booked at last minute & owner very easy to work with. Great location with breathtaking views. House stocked very well!
I have rented homes on Tybee in the summer for several years now. This one is hands-down the best place I have ever stayed. It is steps from the beach with an amazing view from both porches and that ocean breeze feels so good on hot summer days! It was clean, the beds were so comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked with the basics. There is a hose/shower at the base of the steps. We were able to get three cars in our parking area which includes a covered carport.
If you enjoy walking on the beach and collecting shells, this is the place to do both. Low tide leaves a LOT of sand and you can easily get to the neighboring island, Little Tybee. Just be sure not to get caught there as the tide comes in... the current can be really strong there. You can also stroll around the tip of the island to the river side.
It's a nice stroll to the "downtown" area with restaurants and the pier. Spanky's and Fannie's are our favorites there.
The only negative thing that comes to mind is that there are no "beachy" items for you to use like towels, beach chairs/toys, bikes.... (though bikes can be rented and items can be purchased at many shops on the island).
And for all you Pokemon Go fans... there is a Pokestop at the pavilion right outside your front door! :-)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! First time we didn't stay in a hotel, so we weren't sure what to expect. Home was very nice, all accommodations comfortable, we couldn't have enjoyed our stay more! Beautiful beach view! Owner very nice as well!
