Great place for year round mountain activities such as hiking, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, skiing etc. National Forest access and Vega State Park .30 min drive to Powderhorn ski resort. Play all day, then soak all night in the hot tub, right next to a campfire!

Please leave all dirty towels in the bathtub. Please close and lock all windows

Please DO NOT strip used beds. Cleaning crew will strip them. Leave unused beds made. If you used extra pillows/blankets from unused beds, leave them on used beds. This ensure that they get cleaned.

Property was easy to access in the summer had would be great for a family. There were some issues with cleanliness, which the owner apologized for which I appreciate. It is a mountain cabin but still well equipped.

We have stayed here multiple times for our annual girl's weekend, and it's worth it every time. The host is easy to reach and quick to respond. Highly recommend staying here. The hot tub is always a highlight! Such a fun place to get away, relax, and just have a good time.

Fun at Vega!!

Had a blast, cabin was awesome! Great views and the hot tub was perfect for hanging out in the snow. Joal was an awesome hoast. Would go again for sure

Guys Trip

Great place for our group to vacation together. Everyone had a place to sleep, the outdoor spaces were relaxing to hang out together, and all the amenities were good for meals. The locals were very friendly and helpful too. Thx for the great place Joel!

This was the 2nd time in three years we've stayed here. I stayed with my adult kids in 2023 and now with my spouse in 2026. I love cooking and the kitchen is well equipped. [TO OTHER GUESTS: If you stay at a property with a kitchen, please DO NOT return used dishes/silverware back after 'washing' them yourself. The reason the host asks us to leave the used but washed dishes in the rack is so they can see what was used and ensure those things are clean. We found several dishes and pieces of silverware that were put back less than clean. I don't blame the host. This one is on us - the guests.] I always wash kitchen items before using them when I travel, so it's not a big deal. We love staying here and we plan to do so in the future.

Grand mesa house

Very nice cabin. Was set up for snowmobileing with hooks and things down stairs. The view was great. The owner was very friendly also. Would stay there again

Ice Fishing trip

Our stay was amazing. We loved Vega Lake. We got to do some ice fishing and caught several rainbow trout. We spent the evenings, relaxing in the hot tub and then we enjoyed the nostalgic environment of the cabin. Our host was very attentive and attended to our every need. We will definitely return in the future

Absolutely beautiful!!

We don't have enough good to say about this cabin, the owner and manager were extremely transparent and communicated well, they even helped us change our booking when the error was 100% on our end! it was a beautiful stay, the only complaint we have is that we couldn't stay longer!!!! such is life.. for real this cabin is the go to place!

My crew of 14 stayed at this home for a week while they did forestry work. Although we had some minor issues at the end of our stay, Joel was very understanding, and communicative of his ideas. Each year we have jobs in this part of Colorado, and I would definitely stay here again- ensuring Joel that my crew will be respectful. Overall, this house is very comfortable, and the views are stunning. 10/10.

Quirky but a goodie

Overall we had a pretty good trip I appreciated that the kitchen had plenty of supplies for cooking, there was lots of space for kids and adults to separate when needed and the hot tub was a nice amenity. It’s a quirky cabin that’s good for people who don’t need a lot of fuss! I would say the rental feels a little cluttered with toiletries and food left behind from previous guests, we did find some mouse droppings in some of the bottom drawers in the kitchen (kinda just comes with the territory) and the fridge needs a good cleaning all of which isn’t a dealbreaker the one thing that did push it over the edge was a nail clipping found in one of the beds which wasn’t great. I think we would rent it again but would hope for some deeper cleaning next time.

The property was beautiful and we wish are reason for being there was for fun to be able to explore and enjoy all amenities. Great views and homey. Our downside was arriving late at night (we were at my sister in laws in Collbran, well outside of town) and went to the property late at night and took us almost 2 hours to find due to the sketchy service and no street signs and the house number being down on the driveway and not more street side. Also, tough with a young special need child and no wifi at the house. We did see it was there, but would not connect over entire stay with numerous attempts on numerous divices. With that being said we were so appreciative of the movie collection and that there was 2 kiddo movies we were able to play. Thank you again and would definitely stay again to be able to explore and enjoy all the amentities. Thank you again for the use of your property.
