About Cecelia Lucido and Anthony Lucido

Anthony and I retired in 2000, we owned a

Company called ' Salinas Cash Register Co' sold Point of Sale Equipment to all the restaurants in the Penninsula. We bought a large RV and did some traveling and we recently sold it and pretty much take small trips. We both love to golf and have beautiful courses in our area.

Cecelia Lucido and Anthony Lucido purchased this guest house in 1964

Why Cecelia Lucido and Anthony Lucido chose Mescal Corridor NW

We bought our home 30 some years ago and it had this small guest house way out in back. We thought one day we would tear it down and rebuild but it has a lot of charm and history, so we decided to remodel it for our family and friends when they come to visit the area.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Another Year at the Lucido Inn for us, we love the cozy loft and the red, white, and blue nautical decor. This year we explored Big Sur area and the estuary near Moss Landing, but Pt. Lobos and Carmel Beach are still our favorites attractions. You are truly blessed to live in such a beautiful location. Thanks for sharing it with us. Susan and Jorge

Amazing Experience!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time staying at this home. And I assure you it will NOT be our last! What an amazing rustic little home. It was literally everything our family could have hoped for plus more! The owner even included free passes to the Aquarium and kid's museum, which my children LOVED! These tickets saved us SO much money!! Just so happy and hated having to come home!

Loving Seaside

  • 5 of 5

Spent my 60th birthday in this cute little bungalow along with my 2 daughters and best friend. This home was clean, quiet and comfortable and close to everything that we wanted to do. I felt very safe here. The museum passes were an added bonus. The owners were very quick to address any concerns that we had. The little additions like olive oil and vinegar and spices were nice! The beds were comfortable and the pots and pans were of better quality. These small, but important details added up to a very nice place to stay. We didnt't spend much time in the home but it suited our needs perfectly. Thank you for providing a lovely place to stay!!!!!

Nice place, but many disappointments

  • 2 of 5

We arrived late on day one of three at this location, tired after 12 hours on the road.

1) First things first, we used the toilet - and it was immediately clogged. We used the wimpy plunger provided, and it did exactly nothing to help clear the clog. We were without a toilet that night. The next morning, we went to buy a better plunger and worked hard to clear the clog. We notified the owner, who responded with an apparent shrug of the shoulders, and an 'oh, darn' kind of response. No offer to pay for the plunger, no offer of any kind of condolence.

2) Next morning, we tried to make coffee, but there was only a maker that requires those little cups of premixed coffee, and there were none of those to be found. There wasn't even a tea kettle. We contacted the owner, and she did arrange to get a coffee maker we could use the rest of our stay.

3) The beds are very small - much smaller than queen size. Sorry, I thought 'full sized' beds were nearly queen sized, but they are not. We are two full-sized adults, and were VERY cramped. (Granted, I'd rather sleep with my guy cramped than in a separate bed!)

4) Second night, in the wee hours, the smoke detector started chirping - you know, the sound it makes when the battery is dying. So we leaped out of the tiny bed and ran around to pull the battery out, and stop the noise.

5) Third night, in the wee hours, the smoke detector started chirping - you know, the sound it makes when the battery is dying. Yes, it was happening AGAIN. We can't find the device making the noise, and finally locate it behind the kitchen table, in a corner at the floor. It's a carbon monoxide detector. Anyway, again pulled the battery. When we notified the owners, she said, "oh, don't you just hate that?" Seriously, not a great response in our opinion.

When we pressed her, the best she would offer was a free night if we stayed again. Why would we ever stay there again? She should have offered a refund for at least half of our stay. After all, we only got half the bed, half the kitchen items, and half the sleep we paid for.

Respectfully submitted,

Owner's Response: Geez I'm so sorry everything went terribly wrong for you, I wish I'd been home during your stay, maybe I could have helped you out. I depend on my house Keeper to keep supplies full but sometimes things get missed. We would have liked two Queen beds upstairs instead of two full beds but there just wasn't enough room. Hope the Laguna Seca Raceway event went well. Cecelia
