Fourth of July get away

We made last minute plans and were happy with our decision to stay at Mary’s place. It was big enough for our family including our two teenage daughters. The location is quiet and peaceful. The home was clean and had everything we needed!

Loved this little cottage. Had everything we needed! Beats a stuffy cheap hotel room at the same price. My daughter loved having the loft to herself. Very accommodating and attentive hosts. We WILL be staying hete again!

Fishing Vacation

We were looking for a rental property near a marina for a fishing vacation and this met our needs perfectly. This house is just a few steps away from boat slips, boat ramp and tackle shop with fuel. The owners are very nice and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed to make the most of our stay. We will definitely make a return trip! Note: If the cabin seems small for anyone, check out the house (Sailor’s Rest). We were given a tour of the property before we left. It’s a very spacious 4 bedroom house with a private dock. We recommend this place for anyone looking for a vacation spot where you can bring your boat. If you don’t have a boat, you can charter with Captain Billy!

Cabin located behind marina

The property is cute and clean but I would recommend only for a couple. It is very tight. It has a tiny kitchen, half fridge, hotplate, two stools but the microwave takes up the whole table and there really isn't anywhere to eat inside. The bed is unlike any other I've slept upon, it's kind of like a bean bag chair. Not horrible but a little strange. Also be forewarned that cabin is located directly behind a large industrial looking boathouse. There is no other way to say it. The nice view of the water is rather far off at the edge of the property across a large gravel parking lot. We were there during a heat wave so, that was not the property owners fault, but I don't think I understood just how much the property is in full sun, no shady spots to sit out and enjoy the outdoors. No swimming. There is one larger tree to the side but it doesn't really create much shade. There is a pagoda with nice outdoor furniture at the edge of the property but it wasn't clean and is also in full sun. If you have a boat to dock it's great but if you think you are coming to enjoy a waterfront property with waterfront views, not so much. Owners try to be accomodating.

Adorable Tiny Cottage

Gull Cottage was very cute and had all we needed. Capt. Billy and Mary were available to answer questions and provide recommendations. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend anyone to stay. We stayed two nights for a trip to see Tangier Island. Convenient location for area attractions.

Relaxing Recharging Vacation

The cabin was exactly as listed, adorable. The room was immaculate and had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The area is very quiet which is exactly what we needed and wanted. There are two cute wineries very close for a rainy day. Being right in a marina is perfect for crabbing right outside your door. I would definitely return and recommend.

Perfect Stay!

My fiancé, sister in law, and I arrived in town for the short weekend for a wedding and it was absolutely perfect for what we needed! Plenty of room and the beds were super comfy!!! Next time we visit we will be checking to see if this place is available!

Perfect Get Away

We had a wonderful short stay to celebrate a birthday. The location was great and being able to dock our boat and come and go as we please on the water was wonderful. Lots of options to take boats out to lunch and dinner. Hosts were wonderful and always accessible if needed. Cabin well stocked and perfect for our family of 4 with 2 small kids - they loved the loft area to sleep. Will be back again!

Nice getaway

Mary and captain Bill are super host. This is the 2nd time we stayed with them. We did a cruise trip and fishing trip with Captain Bill Charter and everyone loved it. The house is good for a family upto 4 people. It equipped with stove, refrigerator and microwave. We caught a lot of crabs from their pier. We love it there. Thanks for letting us staying there.

Fisherman's Paradise 🐟

Everything was just what we were looking for. Seclusion, peace and absolute quiet! It had so many ammenties available for your use and the listing was exactly as stated. Captain Billy and his family as well as crew (employees) were all extremely friendly...it truly is still existing in a an era where you don't have to lock your car or doors. As Capt. Billy said its rural Virginia everyone is a gun owner and you just dont touch things that arent yours. I felt absolutely safe & comfortable & welcomed into the marina "family" as a guest of Ingram Bay Marina in Gull Cottage. What an experience I will cherish forever and hopefully will get to return again to try out a different season of fishing and maybe take a charter out as well. Already working on getting some friends to rent the creekside house next spring.

Cozy Pleasant Ambience

Tiny house by the bay

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. The tiny house/cabin was perfect for my family of 4. Everything was clean and the kids (7 years old) loved the loft. The marina is beautiful and the boat ramp and dock are excellent. We really enjoyed fishing and crabbing from the docks. The nights were cool and our favorite for walking the docks and star gazing. I was able to launch and dock our 20 foot deck boat with ease and there was plenty of parking for our truck and trailer. The bay was wonderful and we were blessed with perfect weather for our stay. Our boat is not ideal for bay use, but we were still able to enjoy our time on the water. We made the quick trip to Reedville and found a number of restaurants accessible by water. We also found a really nice beach area at Hughlett Point that we enjoyed for a few hours. Kilmarnock is a quick 15 minute drive and offers a number of restaurant and shopping opportunities. We had great meals at NN Burger and Los Patrones. We all enjoyed grabbing a snack for the road at Northern Neck Popcorn Bag. Everyone we interacted with was extremely nice. Mary is wonderful and willing to assist with anything you may need. We will definitely be making another trip in the future and hope to rent both houses so we can bring more family.

Best location for fishing and wildlife tours

The house is impeccably clean and well appointed. I rent this property often and it is always in perfect condition. It has a nice pier only a few steps off the porch that is perfect for any outboard or I/O boats. Deep draft can stay at the quiet and safe marina within a quick walk at no cost with rental. The game room is always a big hit for pool and poker too.

Peaceful, yet plenty to do

Access to the water was terrific. Boat ramp, slip for my boat, and there is good fishing and crabbing off the dock too! Cabin is very comfortable and is well equipped. It has Satellite TV, strong WiFi and a nice grill.

We had so many inquiries about where to stay from our customers, we decided to have these lovely cottages built to meet the needs of our regular clientele. It was a greater need than we realized. In addition to fishing customers we now have families, honeymooners and regular folks like you and me longing for the Chesapeake Bay. They come for fun in the sun, fishing and water sports or just the peace and tranquility of being ….. on the Bay.
