Host communication was outstanding, and the property is exactly what I expected. I walked the bike trail with my dog everyday. Indian Fields is a short drive away and it has a great vibe and good food. I settled in easy and had a very relaxing stay. The drive to Williamsburg was peaceful and well worth it as well.

Very convenient for our vacay as we were biking all week and capitol trail was awesome. House was not cleaned when we arrived as there was a mix up with the cleaning people, however the company made everything right and we were very appreciative.

Thank you so much for your kind words! We're delighted to hear you had a great experience with us. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back anytime!
We were competing in a regional B.A.S.S. tournament on the James River and the house was in a very convenient location to Osborne ramp and park. The house was as advertised, and the communication with the host was exceptional!
This is exactly like listed. Great communication and super easy getting in. Very easy to find. We greatly appreciated the coffee and snacks that were stocked. Beds were comfy.

Your review made our day! We're thankful for your stay and are excited about the prospect of hosting you again.
We needed a modest little place large enough for my family of 4 and allowed me to bring my 2 dogs and be able to prepare our own meals. We were very near the dirt bike club we were there primarily for with lots of historic places and bike trail to explore. We loved the privacy and felt good securing our bikes on site. The price point was also good for the accommodations. The host was also very responsive.

We're overjoyed by your positive feedback. Your presence was truly appreciated, and we can't wait to have you back as our guest.
We stayed 3 nights for bike riding on the Virginia-Capital Trail. The location is almost mid-way between Richmond and Williamsburg, directly across from the trail on the John Tyler Memorial Hwy. The amenities were just right: a good sleep, hot shower, comfortable living room for reading or TV. The kitchen/living room makes eating-in easy, but there are also local eateries that provide good, classical food. If you’re into bike riding, this mid-way location will allow you to cover a lot of ground both ways and good rest in between.

Thank you for your fantastic review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and found the location ideal for biking on the Virginia-Capital Trail. It’s great to know that the amenities provided you with a comfortable and restful experience. We appreciate your kind words about the kitchen and living space, as well as the nearby dining options. We hope to welcome you back for another biking adventure soon!
Place was quiet and clean. Easy access and good communication with host. It was nice that the living room had a door since we were using the pull-out couch for sleeping. We didn’t need to use the kitchen much but it had the essentials. Nice little deck and big yard. The temperature control was difficult, especially since it was so cold, and it would have been nice to have extra blankets available.

We appreciate your note about the temperature control and extra blankets—we’ll make sure to address this to improve future stays. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we hope to welcome you back!
If you're looking to ride the Virginia Capital Trail you can't beat the location of this house. We came to the area for a triathlon in Williamsburg but need to come back just to explore the fully paved path. For those that like to cook, we found it to be tight quarters in the kitchen but made due. James was very attentive making sure our needs were meant and things were going ok with our stay. I'd recommend any of his properties based on the great communication! Plenty of games if you end up with a rainy day.

The home was clean and no bugs. There are a few broken blinds in the bedrooms also no cover over the front door window. Water pressure in the bedroom was low. Also should have put the outside light on since we came in later and rode past property since couldn’t see.

Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad to hear that the home was clean and bug-free. We appreciate you bringing the broken blinds to our attention, and we will address that issue. While we've never received a complaint about the lack of a cover on the front door window, we will certainly consider your recommendation.
Regarding the outside light, our check-in time is at 4 PM, which is typically during daylight hours, but we appreciate your suggestion and will look into it for future guests.
Thank you for your insights, and we hope to have the opportunity to improve your experience in the future!
This quaint little house near Charles City was perfect for us as we were looking for something near the middle of the Capital Trail to ride our bikes. This house is close to the 26 mile marker. It is a very rural area yet close to several restaurants, wineries, and breweries. We only went out one night, to Cul's Courthouse Grill, and it was excellent. Far exceeded our expectations. We ate outside and they also had a band playing in a nearby pavillion. The house was a new listing and all the appliances and stuff inside was new! The owner was easily accessible by email or phone, and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needs. He also sent us an extensive list of nearby attractions with distances, as well as some history of the area. The only downside to our experience was the wifi was slow, and the house is close to the road(Rt 5), which worried us a bit because we had our dog with us. Other than that, great spot!

Disappointed
James (Property Manager) was fantastic to work with!!! Rented this home as it was closest to skeet range. Exterior is little sightly. Closer to the road than expected & traffic noise & lights were definitely a problem. Parking was great. Interior, opened door to most horrific smell, the unloved floors, soft spots = tripping hazard. We had a flood under kitchen sink & onto floor. Repairs could not be made til midday next day. The kitchen trash can was disgustingly dirty under clean trash bag. The house is spacious enough, bed was comfy, kitchen/bath seemed recently updated. It was clean inside just old. Would not stay/recommend to anyone. It has potential to be a quaint house though.

Thank you for your feedback. We are genuinely disappointed to hear that your stay didn’t meet your expectations and that you would not recommend us. We appreciate your compliments on the spaciousness and comfort of the beds, as well as the updates in the kitchen and bath.
We apologize for the issues you encountered, including the smell, the condition of the floors, and the flood under the sink. We were unaware of any smell and haven’t received prior complaints, so we’re not sure what that could have been. We understand that the leaking water was only apparent during use, and we regret that we couldn’t secure a handyman until the following day due to after-hours emergency scheduling. Please know that we worked as quickly and diligently as possible to address the issue, and we credited you for the entire night's stay for this unforeseen inconvenience.
The cleanliness of the kitchen trash can is also not up to our standards, and we’ll ensure that our cleaning team pays closer attention to these details. We value your input and see the potential in our home, and we’re committed to making improvements.
Thank you for your insights, and we hope to have the chance to provide a better experience in the future.
