Escape to "The VUE" A Waterfront Gem with Hot Tub

Wake up to the sights and sounds of nature just outside your window. This is a wildlife lovers dream! You can watch seals, otters, and raptors right from the deck. Revel in breathtaking RIVER AND OCEAN VIEWS! Our beautifully remodeled home sits at the mouth of the Smith River, steps away from shore access. We find it hard to leave the deck, but if you like adventures, there's kayaking, fishing, and hiking right out the door! Redwoods, empty beaches, sand dunes, and more within a 20min drive!
The space
Incredible location! Lovely and bright inside, highlighting the views of the Smith River and Pacific Ocean. New Trex decking right off the living room provides an excellent spot to relax and enjoy the ocean air. Kitchen is well stocked with new appliances throughout and plenty of dishware and glasses for all of your hosting needs. Living room has a 60" Roku TV with a new couch and loveseat. Dining table can seat 6 adults. Both bedrooms have 45" Roku TV's in them. The office has a fold down futon plus a desk just in case you were looking for the best office view in the county. A second Trex deck off the office has the hot tub and fire pit along with outdoor lighting that provides some lovely ambiance for the space. Washer and dryer in the garage are brand new and laundry soap is provided. We are happy to answer any questions you might have, so please don't hesitate to send us a message!
Guest access
Guests have full access to all areas of the property. There is public stair access to a rocky beach with endless skipping stones just steps away.
Other things to note
Close to Brookings Oregon for shopping and excellent dining options (~20 min drive). Crescent City is about 25 min away. The Dollar General in Smith River is about a 10 min drive and has a good selection of essentials. The Lucky 7 casino is less than a mile away which includes a restaurant, mini mart and gas station.

Overall amazing family vacation home

This home was perfect for our family vacation! The bedrooms were comfy and peaceful. We had everything we needed and the entire place was so clean! We will definitely come back for another visit.

Never wanted to leave

This place is truly amazing. There is a lot to see and do in this area of northern CA, but we had a hard time leaving the back deck of the property. The views of the ocean, seals, river otters, bald eagles, egrets, and pelicans were captivating. This VRBO could be a destination all by itself.

Incredibly Peaceful and Relaxing Stay

We couldn't have loved our time here more. Stunning location with ease of access to the beach and surrounded by wildlife. Perfect location for our whole family. Would love to come back!

Best oceanside home ever

The view is unparalleled! The house was fully stocked with everything you could need/want, and was spotless upon checkin. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the relaxing environment. 10 out of 10. Would definitely stay here again!

Return visit just as pleasant

We were last here in October. This time, besides all the birds, we got to watch baby seals on the island across from the house. It is a lovely, calming home that is very well maintained.

Relaxing

We came to relax and that's exactly what we did. Amazing view and easy access to beach. Loved watching all the seals on the beach. Bed's were very comfortable and just a very nice home. We will come back.

A beautiful location with easy access to the Southern Oregon coast. Loved all the marine animals and birds we saw while staying at the house. So peaceful and relaxing just hanging at the house!

The view is truly special - both river and ocean! We loved watching the seals, otters, and changing tides. The house is lovely, clean, and so thoughtfully appointed. The owner and property manager were responsive and helpful. We would absolutely come again!

Million dollar view!

This property is a gem! The view alone is amazing and unique. The house is tastefully decorated with many thoughtful touches such as coffee, snacks and sparkling water. Three Smart TV’s, a great hot tub and two decks to take in the views made this a great romantic getaway.

Excellent Escape

This was a wonderfully clean and updated house that had all the amenities and comforts of home for me. It is in the perfect location at the mouth of the Smith River which is teaming with wildlife. The beautiful windows, deck and outdoor spaces make you feel immersed in nature. It was a wonderful place and the hosts are very responsive and have paid attention to all the little details that make it comfortable and cozy; towels, paper consumables, coffee and tea, all manner of cleaning products, and clean pillows and throw blankets, etc. It was the perfect escape, thank you! If I make it back to Smith River I will plan to stay here again.

Perfect location

Breathtaking vistas! New rental so everything clean and fresh. An abundance of nice touches that you don’t always get with VRBO’s. Very attentive but not intrusive hosts. Lots of wildlife to observe right from the deck. No need to go anywhere else. Expansive, uncrouded beach right out the door, especially at low tide! Bring an SUV so you can load up on great driftwood!

Amazing Views

We only stayed for 3 nights and wish it was 30. The house is smaller, but just fine for a family of 4 and the views are breath taking. The check-in/check-out process was easy and the hosts/property managers were very responsive. The house has all essentials and is clean for an older property. When you are sitting out on the porch or soaking in the hot tub, it feels like you have your own private beach with wildlife everywhere. It is also close to everything from the amazing redwoods, to river rafting or kayaking, hiking, biking, eating, or anything else you would want or need. Or, just sit back and relax!

Spectacular views and lovely house

The views were terrific and we watched the seals and birds on the small island area across from the front windows. The house was well-appointed with everything we needed, plus some other nice touches such as coffee, hot chocolate a few snacks, etc. The extra small room off the kitchen was perfect for one of the children, although there are sleeping options in the living room as well if two bedrooms isn't enough. We were able to receive food delivery there, although the options were limited. Yet, it was enough.

Beautiful Views!

Our stay here was great. The house is immaculately clean. The views from the deck, living room and main bedroom are just absolutely incredible. 100% worth every penny spent. They had a great supply of utensils, plates, cups and cookware. Couches are comfortable and again, very clean. The furniture feels like someone put thought and effort into it, you can tell it is well built. We have stayed at other rentals that just don’t have that feel like this one does, it helps it feel like a home. The deck was the best part for me. We spent hours just sitting there listening to the ocean and watching the seals. The binoculars were a fantastic touch. We will be back again.

Nature and relaxation

Before we were halfway through our stay we decided we wanted to book a return visit. When we found that the Vrbo availability calendar didn't extend far enough, Nate (the friendly and very helpful manager) got it sorted out in short order. Great facilities, great service, and for us, an incredible environment. One of us is an avid birder, and the other has a professional background in coastal oceanography and hydrology. The location on the edge of a narrow channel where the ocean waves meet the river outflow and there is a nearby island with a seal colony and many many birds kept us entranced through 3+ days and many tide changes. We made brief excursions to Brookings and Crescent City, but were so comfortable in the house that we felt little urge to go elsewhere. Bring your binoculars and telephoto lens and watch the show. When the fog comes in, the hot tub awaits.

This is a fabulous place to come and relax and unwind. The view is spectacular, the seals and birds in abundance an on going movie from the wrap around deck. Very private, very quiet. Clean and comfortable with a lovely workable kitchen!
