Northwoods Retreat Lakefront- sleeps up to 12 w/deck & firepit! Gorgeous views!

Lake Nokomis heaven! Bring the whole family and escape to the Northwoods. Our home away from home has 3 bedrooms plus a HUGE loft. The kids and teens love this area to play and have their own "space". Our cedar deck and firepit overlook the lake with gorgeous views to enjoy your morning coffee, or evening smores! It's the perfect place for roasting marshmallows at the end of the day.
Wildlife abounds, keep your eyes peeled for the bald eagles, families of deer, turkeys, woodpeckers, and other wildlife :) Your getaway is equipped with 2 flat-screen TV's, Wifi, a grill, 3 kayaks, a rowboat, & a dock for all of your water toys. Enjoy the stone fireplace for cozy winter nights after a day of snowmobiling on the trails which are very close by!
Lake Nokomis is a wonderful fishing lake with many varieties of fish from pan fish to Muskies. There is a dock which is available to dock your boat. Keep in mind the lake does rise and fall during the years so water levels do fluctuate.
The Bearskin trail is close by for hiking, biking, and snowmobiling.... and don't forget the Windmill for BEST ICE CREAM!!
Early morning kayak rides are absolutely beautiful if you are an early riser!

The cottage had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay but I was a bit disappointed with the amount of grass in the water.

Wonderful lake house with everything you need

We loved our stay here! Beautiful views, cozy home, any and all amenities you need. We grilled burgers, steaks, and brats out on the deck, rented a boat and kept it at the dock, had fires in the nice fire pit, and enjoyed seeing so many stars on the clear nights. The host Laurie was very accommodating and communicative. 10/10, will try to book again!

Great Property

Everything was wonderful except the hiccup in the check in process. Somehow we never received a code to check in but the property owner helped us as soon as we contacted her so it worked out.

Fun at Lake Nokomis Retreat

Our host Laurie was very accommodating, easy check-in and out, if I had questions she got right back to me. She recommended some very nice restaurants to go to and we tried a few of them and they were great. Steak at Pine Tree Supper Club was awesome. The house was very clean and so cozy, it was the right size for our group of 6 but has much more room for up to 12 people. The kitchen is a good size and equipped with what we needed, we loved the coffee bar area. Each morning we enjoyed our coffee on the deck watching eagles and hearing the loons. Lake Nokomis is a Great Lake for fishing, swimming at some of the sand bars or stopping at one of the places on the lake for lunch. We would definitely book this place again. Thank you Laurie you have a beautiful home.

Fantastic Week Up North

We had a lovely week at the lake. The home was in a beautiful location, it was clean and welcoming, the lake was perfect for fishing, watersports and relaxing, and there's plenty to do in the area. Our only issue was the AC (or lack thereof). The listing listed AC among the top amenities, but we arrived to discover there was not actually any AC in the house. It was fine for most of the week, but the last two days were super hot and we were quite uncomfortable. The fact that was misrepresented in the listing was super disappointing, as we had small children who were extremely uncomfortable at night in the hot cabin.

I'm a Northwoods girl at heart, love the outdoors, photography, reading, coffee on the deck. and traveling. This is our extended family home away from home. We love the outdoors in general , especially the Northwoods! This home has been in our family for many years. The kids are off to college so we don't get to use it as much as we would like so we thought we would share our peaceful place with others to enjoy!

Why they chose this property

Our home away from home has been a place where we have made incredible memories for 20 years with our family. When we started inviting guests here it filled my heart to hear so many families making those same memories. Our home has a fully equipped kitchen, bath necessities including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toilet paper , paper towels etc. The upstirs loft is PERFECT for the kiddos or teens to hang out or a 2nd family with its own full bath with a tub. There are 2 kayaks to go explore and spot some bald eagles (there are nests right around the home). Wildlife is everywhere and you will most likely see many deer in our driveway on a regular basis!
The firepit is amazing in the evenings for a glass of wine and some smore's and the deck is perfect for early morning coffee!

What makes this property unique

We are close to all of the snowmobile / ATV trails and 10 minutes from downtown. Granite peak is a 45 minute ride for any snowboarders / skiers! Lake Nokomis is a very large beautiful lake and the fishing is excellent. Our spot is one of the best areas to catch a few (shhhh!)
