About this property

LUXURY PENTHOUSE 2 BDRM OCEANFRONT BUILDING: Just steps from the beach!

"Aloha Kai" Completely Renovated 2-bedroom (King Bed in each) Oceanfront at Menehune Shores with A/C in every room (hard to find). Many of these condos have no A/C or just one mini-split in family room.

Fantastic 6th Floor Ocean Views!! Pack your suit...Aloha Kai has everything else you'll need to enjoy your Maui vacation!

This beautifully renovated upscale unit is located in South Kihei at Menehune Shores, on Kalepolepo Beach and next to the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary (bring your binoculars during whale season). Truly oceanfront with miles of beaches to explore (Kalepolepo, Waipuilani and Sugar Beach). Kekei (children) can enjoy the shallow and protected wading area near the ancient Hawaiian sea wall and watch turtles come to lay on the rock walls each evening. This quiet condo is located just minutes away from fantastic food, shopping, and the hustle and bustle of downtown Kihei.

New for 2021: Completely Remodeled, no expense spared. Premiere property is highly maintained and obsessively clean! You won't find another unit like this in the building; Air Conditioning in EVERY room (rare), a reconfigured floor-plan that maximizes views and entertaining space, clothing washer & dryer, wood plank ceramic tile (no carpet) and ceiling fans in every room. No dust collecting in corners or hiding behind decor here, this unit is extremely clean and fresh for every guest, every time.

Never miss a Maui sunset when you are staying at Aloha Kai. The patio & master bedroom have breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the West Maui Mountains. The ocean views and sunsets from the unit are truly magnificent.

A 2-Bedroom, 2-Bathroom Unit consisting of a Kitchen, Great Room, Main King-Bedroom with bathroom en-suite and a 2nd Bedroom with King-Bed, Twin-size Murphy Bed and its own separate bathroom.

Enjoy the rooftop BBQ's and seating with a 360 degree view of the ocean and mountains, or perhaps you'd rather cook in our fully equipped kitchen. Whatever your needs, Aloha Kai has it. Just bring your suits, we have the rest waiting for your Maui getaway.

Aloha Kai is on the 6th floor of the building, near an elevator.

Fully equipped kitchen, free high speed wifi, 2 Smart TVs, Pack and Play and booster seat/high chair, books, toys and games for our littlest guests. All WHITE hotel quality linens and beach towels included.

The unit has a wonderful cross breeze but if you prefer A/C, the unit has a 3 zone Split system. A/C in main living area and in each bedroom. Air Conditioning is rare in these units! Ceiling fans are in every room.

Menehune Shores is a well maintained property that features lush landscape, perfectly kept lawn areas with two shuffleboard lanes, a large heated swimming pool and barbecue areas both near beach and pool as well as a rooftop Lanai. "Monsoon" Indian Restaurant located at ground floor (and is quite good and a wonderful place to have a sunset dinner).

We chose Menehune Shores for it's amazing view, but also for its' central location. Staying in Kihei will allow you to enjoy so many of Maui's offerings...you are in the middle of it all. Head upcountry where the vistas seem to go on forever, take a snorkel cruise from Ma'alea Harbor, or pack a picnic and take the road to Hana to hike and explore waterfalls for the bamboo forest. It's all just a short drive away.

Please note that Menehune Shores is a non smoking property and is pet free. There is a designated smoking area on the ground floor.

The roof-top Lanai is a great place to cook outdoors on our gas grills and dining tables. From this rooftop you have a spectacular panoramic view of the ocean, upcountry of Haleakala, West Maui Mountains, the island of Kaho'olawe, and the Molokini Island Crater. This is also a great place to watch the Humpback whales during the season. Whale Watching in Maui is November - May, with the majority of whales January - March, February being peak season.

Please note during peak season per HOA rules, one car is permitted per unit. Dec 14th - March 30th.

We named our family home "Aloha Kai" which means love of ocean. A deep love and respect of the ocean is what brought us to Menehune Shores. We invite you to be part of our Ohana (family). We look forward to sharing our home with you and hope that you make long lasting memories with your loved ones here on the island of Maui.

Beach chairs and snorkel gear are not included in rental, although we do have an ever-changing collection of sand toys and boogie boards left by our wonderful guests. We can not guarantee what will be there at the time of your stay.

Kalepolepo Beach (excerpt from Maui Guide Book):

A small but lovely beach in North Kihei. This was the historical site of a thriving Hawaiian village, and is an important cultural archeological site for native Hawaiians. A portion of Kalepolepo Beach is the location of the ancient Hawaiian fish pond (Ko'ie'ie fishpond, one of three in the area) its walls protect the beach creating a calm shallow pool that is also perfect for keiki (children) or adults who prefer smooth waters.

In the late afternoons turtles often swim up onto the protected beach or on the seawall to rest for the night, swimming out the next morning. This gives daily opportunities to snorkel near and photograph these amazing creatures. Please remember to enjoy the turtles from a distance.

For more island excitement there is a nearby Canoe Club that will take you on a wonderful experience of a six man outrigger canoe ride.

Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary:
Located in Kihei on the south shore of Maui, the visitor center is an ideal spot to learn about the marine environment and even see humpback whales breaching. This scenic beachfront location at the foot of Haleakala has views of Kaho'olawe, Lana'i and West Maui looking across the waters of the sanctuary.
Recently renovated, the visitor center currently showcases temporary exhibits, while permanent exhibits are still being planned for the future.

There are six world-class golf courses a short drive from Menehune Shores. The Pacific Ocean Center Aquarium, where you can view the ocean's inhabitants through a walk-through glass tunnel, is a few minutes up the road on the way to the old whaling port of Lahaina. The exclusive hotels and shops of Wailea are just south of Kihei.

Maui is our special place. We feel so fortunate for every moment we visit Hawaii, especially spending time with family who live upcountry. We really enjoy helping our guests to create amazing memories and sharing our home with others who love Maui.

Why they chose this property

Menehune Shores sits very close to the Ocean, closer than many of the beachside resorts in our area. It truly is one of a kind.

What makes this property unique

Air Conditioning in every room is hard to come by.

Ancient Hawaiian fish pond and sea wall create a very safe beach experience for families. Turtles arrive every evening to sleep safely on its beaches. Whales can be seen from the Lanai during the season.
