Great location, Wonderful house

  • 5 of 5

Stoneharbor was the perfect place to stay while visiting St. John. With so many different beaches to explore on this Island, location is key and this house in Coral Bay provides every thing we needed and more. We had a couple of nice restaurants and a well stocked grocery store only a very short walk away, making it very convenient to shop or grab a bite while at the house. Being located in Coral Bay we had some of the most beautiful beaches in the world to the east, west and north of our location, all within a few miles of Stoneharbor, a short 10 to 20 minute drive to beautiful white sands and warm, clear blue waters perfect for swimming, snorkeling and paddle boarding...or just soaking up the sun!

This house is well taken care of, It was clean and comfortable, everything from the beds and linens to the dishes and kitchen utensils, everything was in good working order.

Most of our days were spent out and about exploring this beautiful Island, but our evenings usually consisted of some pool time both before and after dinner whether we barbequed at home or went out for dinner. The large screened porch and swimming pool are great assets for this property which we used everyday. I would definitely recommend Stoneharbor.

Amazing house to relax and enjoy the scenery.

  • 5 of 5

This house has everything you need to relax and enjoy a home away from home. Minutes from some of the most breathtaking snorkeling you'll ever see. The pool is perfect to cool off in and the local restaurants are a short walk too. House has everything you need and would love to stay here more often.

Perfect trip!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here in January. We were 2 couples celebrating some birthdays. I had been to St. John, but never stayed in Coral Bay. Very much preferred this over Cruz Bay. Location was perfect. Walked down the hill to grocery store for food and drink. Snorkeled at a different beach every day. Pool was nice, but water too cool to use in January. Enjoyed the screened porch. Ate out most nights and did breakfast usually at home. Took boat trip to British Virgin Islands . Wouldn't really recommend this, snorkeling on trip very crowded and baths at Virgin Gorda very crowded, although interesting to see. Went to Cruz Bay one night for expensive dinner, preferred the places we ate in Coral Bay. House was clean, beds comfy, and our friends didn't mind the climb up to the loft. Would be nice to have a dresser or somewhere to put clothes up in the loft. Overall, this house was great and a great value. Would stay here again in a heartbeat, and hope I get to some day.

Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

This house was fantastic! The pool was by far one of our favorite things about this place - perfect for cooling off in the afternoons. We can't say too much about the inside since we spent most of our time on the screened in porch enjoying the view of the bay but the beds in both the loft and downstairs were both very comfortable. Everything was clean, well stocked and just perfect! The bonus was the condiments we found in the fridge - made cooking on the grill just like being at home. There are many beaches just a 10-15 minute drive from this house and once you master the driveway you are good to go! Aqua Bistro and the marketplace down the hill were super-convenient and the locals are extremely friendly and fun to talk to.

The property management company that takes care of this place is also excellent. We would recommend staying here to anyone and are already thinking about returning next year!!! Did NOT want to come home! Great change of pace from very busy Cruz Bay!

Amazing experience at the Stone Harbor Cottage.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at Stone Harbor Cottage for the first week of June to celebrate our 10 year anniversary (we were married on Tortola actually). This was our first time staying on St John and were really attracted to the idea of staying in Coral Bay because of its reputation of being more laid back and less crowded than the west and north side. But we also wanted to be close to the restaurants and market, so this cottage was the perfect place for us to feel secluded and private but also right near the "action" (as other reviewers have mentioned Aqua Bistro and the market are literally steps away). Upon arrival in Cruz Bay via ferry, and picking up our car rental, we met the property manager Mark who escorted us back to the property. Remember "Drink right, drive left". Mark made us feel right at home there and gave us some good info on Coral Bay. The property was really amazing. It was the perfect size for the two of us. We loved opening up the porch doors and letting the cool breezes flow as we had our morning coffee on the deck. We spent a lot of time on that deck, in fact we didn't even sit inside the whole week we were there. The sundeck and pool were a great way to spend time relaxing in our own private getaway. The master bedroom was nice and we didn't mind the entrance to it being downstairs from the main level. We did shower upstairs to take advantage of the larger shower and view of the bay right from the window. The kitchen was perfect for us too. We visited the market several times to stock the fridge for breakfasts, snacks, beverages, and for grilling out on the deck too. Previous guests have left spices and other local non-perishables as well. The cottage had a couple coolers as well, so we'd load those up for our daily excursions around the island. Be sure to visit the east end for great uncrowded snorkeling, Haulover North & South were our favorites on that end. Waterlemon cay was our favorite spot on the north side. And checkout the stone figures at Drunk Bay on the southeast side. We enjoyed grabbing a bite to eat and sipping drinks at Aqua Bistro and Shipwreck Landing. You can hear the live music from Aqua Bistro even after you make your way home. The locals were friendly and we really enjoyed the low key vibe of Coral Bay. We'll definitely be returning to this cottage in the future. And I recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect getaway in Coral Bay.

Simply Perfect

  • 5 of 5

My sweet fiancee and I were there for the week of 5/10/15-5/17/15, and it was, as the review title states,- simply perfect. This was my 18th trip to STJ, and while we've stayed in bigger homes with larger parties, this cottage more than suited our needs & was very comfortable. The a.c. in the bedroom kept our sunburn cool at night. The breezes were unreal, and kept us happy, as the weather was perfectly hot and sunny. We opened up the large barn style doors and windows and the breeze naturally cooled the space, thanks to the screened in patio. Throughout the entire week, there was no sign of any unwelcome bugs/critters which was a real surprise having pretty much seen it all over the years. Our favorite bar/restaurant is Aqua Bistro, and we couldn't have asked for a better location! It's literally a minute and a half walk down, and (after a few adult drinks...) 3-4 minutes back up the hill. Just when we started getting tired going back up;- bang, we were there! As another reviewer said, backing up the driveway in the Jeep was tricky the first time, then was a piece of cake. After one of our trips from the beach, we were welcomed home by a family of 6-7 goats that was literally limin' by the pool. They just kind of meandered by us as they left, and were very docile. Can't say that I blame them, the pool deck gets plenty of sun! It was great. The pool was basically the perfect temperature, and we recommend visiting this time of year. We grilled breakfasts (yes, breakfasts!) lunches and dinners, and although the grill area was a little bit dark at night, nothing could take away the magic that this home offered. Exciting and beautiful place to wake up to, as well as to come home to after our daily touring of that gorgeous island.

Meeting Marc Miller was like running into an old friend; he was a wonderful host. The fantastic job he does is understated, but to us, more than evident by how we never had a single issue to bother him with. To me, this is a testament to his professionalism, as everything about our stay was just seamless enjoyment.

As usual, the pictures on the website can't possibly show how comfy, yet roomy this home was.

I somehow wish there was more I could say regarding our happiness with choosing Stone Harbor Cottage, but I'm running out of space!

We look forward to our next visit, and in short, thank you for letting us stay in this little piece of heaven. It was simply perfect.

Smiles-

Jimmy & Amy
