About the property

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Welcome to Wildwoods Cabin, an experience you will always remember. Recently built, Wildwoods Cabin is a very modern 4 bedroom, 3 bath “cabin in the woods” overlooking the peaceful Moose River near Sterling, Alaska. The builder has harvested interesting stone and unique wild woods from years of roaming the Alaskan wilderness and has brought it all together to create the beautiful masterpiece that is the Wildwoods Cabin, all for your exclusive lodging experience.

Read a book by the gas fireplace with the beautiful burled spruce mantel and enjoy the towering stone and wild wood wall above the black granite bar. The kitchen with cherry cabinets is fully equipped for whatever culinary delights you are ready to create.

Fresh fruit, cereals, coffee, and teas are ready for your mornings. Relax in the soaking tub and large walk-in shower of the master bathroom. The large deck overlooking the river with its grill and dining area is also a bird lover's dream location to watch 60 known species throughout the year.

Trumpeter swans and many other waterfowl make this a favorite feeding stop on spring and fall migrations. Moose enjoy feeding in the river at sunrise and sunset. Bear, caribou, coyotes, wolves, otter and mink wander through on occasion. Breathe in the fresh scents from the rock gardens and flower beds built into the surrounding terrain. Stroll the path to the river and soak up the wildlife from the benches on the dock. Take off in the canoe for a leisurely paddle up the Moose River. Or after a day of fishing, hiking, or sightseeing, you can return to the luxurious surroundings of the cabin.

Wildwoods Cabin was built and furnished by Robert Kuiper, Alaska's master log furniture builder who focuses on bringing the beauty of Alaska's woods and rivers indoors and incorporating them into beds, tables, and chairs. Of special interest are the beautiful end tables created from the log remains of the new Iditarod Burled Arch in Nome, of which Robert built in 2000.

Amazing

I can't begin to express what an amazing place this is. The location on the Moose River and the incredible architecture and landscaping of the property make this an Eden on the Kenai Peninsula. The home was even more beautiful and comfortable than I imagined. The Kuipers have made available a great home to settle into for a memorable stay in one of the most beautiful locations in Alaska.

A must stay property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cabin for a week and enjoyed every minuet. This house is just awesome!

The craftsmanship is incredible. You will feel like your at home the whole time you are at the house.

Very cool in the evenings when the moose come to the river, to sit on the deck and watch them feed. I will recommend to everyone I know and will stay again when in Alaska.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved it! Everything was extremely clean, the woodwork is incredible, and the views are unreal! The pictures don't do this cabin justice. We will absolutely book this place again if we ever come back to Alaska. We highly recommend booking this cabin, you won't be disappointed and you will want to come back again! Love it here so much

We went to Sterling to see a few properties , we called Bob and Judy at the last minute and they were gracious enough to squeeze us in-between to existing reservations .The accommodations were just wonderful , we always try to stay above 3.5 / 4.0 star rating and it was so nice to arrive late and walk into a 6.0 resort . The owners Bob and Judy were so kind and helpful , there resort was just amazing , the workmanship and artistry combined with the location made our visit seem like a once in a lifetime experience . We lacked for nothing , friendship wonderful accommodations and beautiful scenery . Thank you .
