About the host
Hosted by Brigid Sullivan
Brigid Sullivan is happy to welcome you to this idealistic setting in the Green Mountains of south central Vermont. Our family feels fortunate to be able to enjoy the beautiful seasons of Vermont and wants to share it with our guests. We are experienced world travelers and understand what you need to be comfortable away from home. Family ancestors were early settlers in Mount Holly. We love to share local history and great spots to visit. In the summer and fall enjoy the vegetables and herbs from our gardens.
Why they chose this property
The apartment, attached to our home, with the same spectacular views, is a secret hide away. It is on a dead-end dirt road in a tiny, wonderful Vermont hamlet. At the opposite end of our living areas, the apartment is private and cozy. The property has been a family summer home since the 1940's.
What makes this property unique
The landscape is beautiful and it is so peaceful and quiet here. You can hear the winds whispering in the trees or howling in a blizzard and then it is quiet again. The skies are clear at night and the stars are spectacular. Venturing outdoors at night is an amazing experience to be cherished. Walk to the village for coffee and pastry or a sandwich. Enjoy the lake with a refreshing swim or ice skating or fishing. Don't forget your camera as every day is different and the scenery is stunning. The Village is charming with the historical museum open on summer weekends. Family style dinners at the Odd Fellow Hall are delicious and a taste of real Vermont. Fireworks and the bonfire, skating and hot chocolate on New Years Eve are right out of Currier and Ives. Music on the Green during the summer is a relaxing way to spend a great evening.
