The Neighborhood:
Tucked within lush forest at 4,000 foot elevation, Arnold, CA is your gateway to hiking, fishing, mountain biking, white water rafting, skiiing, wine tasting and romantic weekend getaways. Just minutes from Calaveras Big Trees State Park, the town of Murphys, foothill Gold Country, and the Stanislaus National Forest, and 30 mintues from Bear Valley Ski Resort. The Meadowmont subdivision where this home is located has been a backbone of the Arnold area for many years as it has the only grocery store in Arnold, a shopping center, brewery, lodging and more. On the north side of Meadowmont, the neighborhood backs to roughly 8,500 acres of Stanislaus National Forest lands (called an interface), which provides plenty of hiking, biking, and hoof opportunities, as well as a connector to the new Arnold Rim Trail.

Getting Around:
To fully experience everything this area offers, you'll want a reliable car and possibly bikes. Street parking is abundant. For those looking to explore the wine country of Murphys, CA without driving - there are transit options like the Saturday Hopper Line, the Calaveras Connect bus routes, and Stagecoach Limo that will take you back and forth from Arnold and Murphys wine country.

Other Things to Note:
-Cell phone service can be spotty.
-We will consider up to two dogs per visit.
-The entrance to the main cabin is up multiple sets of steps.
- Please do not disrespect our neighbors property. The zipline is our neighbors, do not use this.
- Quiet hours start at 10pm. Again, don't disrespect the neighbors.

Fun Chalet with Friends

We stayed in the chalet for a weekend trip with friends - 4 adults and 4 kids ages 5-8, plus a large dog, and it was a great set up! There was plenty of space to hang out and the location was great - visited Murphy's, Big Trees SP, and Columbia Historic SP. It was 105 degrees the weekend we were there but AC and fans kept the house comfortable. Very dog friendly and kid friendly - the board games were great! Also loved the Nespresso machine! Only one suggestion - the deck - could use refreshed furniture and the deck itself seems in need of repairs, did not seem super safe (both stability and splinters). Overall wonderful stay for a fun weekend getaway with friends!
