About Bonnie Williams
It is my long wished-for delight to share my Bisbee home with you and your family or friends. After 30+ years of renovations and reliance on many Bisbee artisans, the Dragonview is now ready for you to enjoy too. I hope you appreciate this unique town and renew your spirit in these magical mountains. Murray and I live in the cottage, located at the far end of the property, so we are available to assist you if needed. I currently also work in Bisbee as a Community Development Program Manager for a 4 County area. I grew up in Canada, and moved to Bisbee in 1979. Later, I lived in Japan for 4 years, and was born in the year of the Dragon, hence my fascination with the creatures. The Dragon has many different meanings, but I like to think it will bring good luck to you! Be sure to take a picture with the life size Dragon Gate. I look forward to meeting you! Thank you for your patronage.
Bonnie Williams purchased this House in 1979
Why Bonnie Williams chose Bisbee
While still living in Canada, one day I looked at a map of Arizona, saw the name 'Bisbee' and suddenly 'knew' I was going to live there someday. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it, as many other residents and visitors have. The weather is near perfect, not too hot, not too cold, and the history of the area is fascinating. I love the sky, the stars, the mountain views and the warm people of this community.
What makes this House unique
There are few quaint and historic towns in Arizona, and Bisbee is the best. Slip back in time while enjoying modern amenities and inspiring views from this large and luxurious mountain home. It was half the size and quite a mess when I first bought it. It has been my 'art project' and a real learning experience, something like the old movie 'Money Pit'. The fantastic views and large yard were always there but I totally rebuilt the house, including pine wood ceilings and cabinets, stone walls and staircases, and the remarkable iron work all over the property.

Great view and spacious patios
Quiet, scenic, beautiful inside and out.
This is, by far, the favorite place we have stayed in Bisbee. The pictures don’t even do it justice. The perfect amount of owner interaction- they are very kind and thoughtful. Every detail has been thought out, down to makeup remover wipes. Worth every $!
thank you !
The location is great, the house was very spacious and Bonnie was easy to reach. She thought of everything that a guest could possibly need during their stay.
Best in Bisbee
Our stay was fabulous! The kitchen is better stocked than my kitchen at home. Bonnie has thought of everything someone might need while a guest at her house, and provided it for you. The whole house is sparkling clean, and very spacious. We were met shortly after arrival to see if everything was as desired, and she is available if anything is needed during the stay. I can't say enough about how relaxing it was too stay here. The steps down to the house were difficult for my 84 year old Mom, but well lit with good handrails. I think this is more a Bisbee problem than particular to this house. Highly recommend staying here!
Thanks so much for your kind review! It makes me happy to know folks can retreat from daily life and relax here. For future visitors, most homes in Old Bisbee are only accessible by steps, including mine. This is one of our unique as you say "problems", since homes are stacked along the sides of a mountain canyon. Recently we did get started with heavy machinery digging out a more gentle pathway down which hopefully we can finish next year. Then our customers will have an easier option down from the parking lot. Although it is walk able now, unfortunately the last half is still too steep to safely use, so I didn't think it would help your mom. Anyway, thanks again, your review made my day!
The host thought of everything to make the stay more comfortable. The house was immaculately clean as well. The walk to downtown was a bit long, but really only noticeable on the way back when going up hill. Great place to stay and Bisbee was such a fun little town to visit. 😊
Thanks for your kind review Christina. We are thankful that our guests often just use the golf cart shuttle for that gradual up hill climb home from downtown. The altitude here adds a bit of difficulty for even the most fit visitors. Always something fun to do in Bisbee, glad you had a good time!
My first trip to Bisbee AZ and it did not disappoint. Bonnie and Murray greeted us upon arrival and helped get us situated. Dragonview Retreat was a beautiful property and a well appointed, comfortable home. Great location close to the center of town. You can walk or get a golf cart to come pick you up. If I get back to Bisbee again, I would definitely reach out to book this property in a heart beat.
thanks for the nice review, and you're always welcome back!
Bisbee is primarily a walking town due to the many public staircases constructed over mule trails by the WPA in the 1930’s that are a must to explore. See the many unique and unusual hillside houses and gardens not visible from the streets.
While visiting, it is recommended to take in the Queen Mine Tour, Old Bisbee Ghost Tour, Smithsonian affiliated Bisbee Mining & Historical Museum, numerous art galleries, antique stores and many fine dining restaurants during your stay.
Bisbee is also centrally located for day trips to Tombstone, Kartchner Caverns State Park, and Chiricahua National Monument Wonderland of Rocks. Great birding opportunities are available on the property, at the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area and other nearby scenic locations.
