Why Janice Kavanagh chose North Downtown
Charlottesville is a wonderful city which I call home and the Bungalow is ideally located, and easy walk to the city's downtown, shops, restaurants and farmer's market. I love the Belmont neighborhood with many beautiful homes and walk-able to just about everywhere in the city, UVA is approximately 2 miles away.
What makes this Bungalow unique
On a quiet residential street, but only minutes by foot to just about everything in the city: restaurants, theatre, shops, trails, historic monuments, UVA and sporting arenas are close by. Monticello Trail that leads you to Monticello is just a five minute drive. Carter's Mountain which is adjacent to Monticello is clearly visible from the front porch of the Bungalow which offers lovely sunrises. You get the best of both worlds, close to the city so you don't even need a car, but you have the benefit of staying on quiet residential street without all the traffic and noise. Large front porch elevated off the street is ideal for relaxing, watching the sunrise and enjoying your morning coffee!

It was a lovely place, exactly as it appears in the pictures!
A cute, clean, quaint little bungalow. We enjoyed our stay. The place is conveniently close to downtown mall (walking distance) and other fun restaurants and bars nearby. Everything worked well (hot water, heat, etc.) and the coffee, tea, water, and fruit provided was a thoughtful surprise. I would definitely stay here again. My only note of feedback is to hang a full-length mirror somewhere. Or, an eye-level mirror in each bedroom would be nice too. All in all a beautiful, well-kept little bungalow in Charlottesville. Thanks for making our stay sweet and special :)
Our house was very clean, we really enjoyed our stay there and if we make our way back down there we would definitely look into staying her again.
Glad you enjoyed your stay at the Boxwood Bungalow. See you on another visit to the Boxwood Bungalow. thank you
Very cute, clean place with great location.
This is a great option for those not wanting or needing a kitchen/formal dining. Walkable distance from neighborhood restaurants and close driving proximity to upscale grocery store with microwavable items, etc. Close to downtown and movie theaters. The off-street parking was also a plus.
Perfect place for a Charlottesville getaway.
This was a great place for a Charlottesville weekend away. Walking distance the terrific restaurants in Belmont and at the Downtown Mall. We hope to come back!
Thank you for choosing the Boxwood Bungalow for your stay in Charlottesville. Hope to see you on a future visit. thank you
A very comfortable, well located house.
We had a very enjoyable ten day stay at Boxwood Bungalow. It's very nicely decorated, clean and felt "homely". End of the street / five minutes walk tops, is Belmont corner with several good restaurants catering to different tastes. Ten minutes walk takes you to the pedestrianised mall with a whole range of shops and other restaurants - great for an evening stroll. From the house it's easy enough to get to I64 , and from there it's maybe twenty minutes to get to the entrance point on Skyline Drive / BlueRidge Parkway. Mountains were beautiful, and countryside terrific with friendly vineyards and cider places - lunch at Bold Rock, south on Rt151, recommended. Coffeemaker /fridge worked out fine for us as no intention of cooking when on holiday. On-site Owner was friendly, helpful and responsive , but not so as to be at all obtrusive. A great place to stay and explore Charlottesville / Virginia. The Turners, Hockley, England
The Boxwood Bungalow is located within a 10 minute walk to the downtown historic mall and the grounds/Rotunda at UVA. A very short walk up the street are three of the city's best restaurants: Tavola, The Local & MAS. A short drive to local wineries: Keswick Vineyards, Jefferson Vineyards, Glass House Winery, Blenheim, Trumph and others. Thomas Jefferson's Monticello is within 5 miles of the Bungalow. Some of central virginias best golf courses are within 15 minute drive: Spring Creek, Glenmore, Old Trail, Birdwood, Stoney Creek.
