About this property
Blue Chair -Amazing Dock & Free Golf Cart in 2026!
Blue Chair Key is the perfect waterfront getaway for four! Are your dates already booked at Blue Chair Key? Try our other cottage, Key Lime! Blue Chair Key is a waterfront two bedroom, one bathroom vacation home that sleeps two in the master bedroom with a king sized bed and two in the guest room with a queen sized bed. Beautifully decorated and comfortably adorned, you will feel right at home. The kitchen is fully stocked for your cooking needs. The porthole window in the dining room sets the tone for an incredible nautical stay right on the water. Walk outside to enjoy the floating dock, a perfect spot for fishing or launching kayaks! A fish cleaning station is available for your use. Blue Chair Key is located within a private and quiet part of the island, but just a short golf cart ride away from shops and restaurants downtown and on Dock Street. Your stay includes complimentary kayaks, and we’re also happy to share that a golf cart is included as part of a special promotion for 2026 only at Blue Chair Key. Just a 20-30 minute paddle away from the home is Atsena Otie an incredible deserted National Wildlife Island. Paddle yourself around the backwater through the marshes.
BOATER INFORMATION: Boat safely and responsibly. Boating from Blue Chair Key is at your own risk. Cedar Key is shallow water until you reach the channels. Experienced boaters should study navigational charts and tides prior to boating in the area. We have two approaches from Bay access from the dock. The bay can be less than 2 feet deep at low tide. The first bay access involves a bridge to the east that the State of Florida says is 6.5 feet high at mean high tide. In October, we have 5 feet of water at low tide at the dock and a clearance of +/- 6 feet at the bridge at high tide. Both vary greatly and you will need to judge the height on your approach. The second bay access approach is via a tidal waterway to the west with a variety of depths depending on the tide. Check and know your height to the waterline, draft, tides and use your depth finder before navigating.
Up to one dog is permitted (20 pound max) with pet fee as follows: Pet fee is $50 per pet per visit, 1 pet maximum.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Hi Shannon, thank you so much for the five star review! We are thrilled to hear that Blue Chair Key was the perfect getaway spot for you! It was such a pleasure hosting you and we truly appreciate you choosing to stay with Pelican Vacation Home. Thank you for being an excellent guest and we hope to see you again in the future!
This coastal home is a treasure, a chance to live the old Florida coastal life for a time. The port hole window provides a beautiful view to the mangrove islands with sea and shore birds passing by. The house is well stocked, perfectly clean and with ample storage in every room. Communication with the host was just as needed and timely.
Clean and well equipped. Perfect for kayaking, our main activity while in Cedar Key for the better part of a week. (Two parents and two teenagers. We brought two kayaks and used the two kayaks provided by the hosts. We also rented their golf cart for a couple of days. Kayaks were included in base price, but there was an additional fee for the golf cart.) Hosts were very responsive. We would happily stay at the Blue Chair again -- great experience.
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. Everything was perfect, the place was clean and check-in was easy. We spent our time relaxing and doing a little fishing and crabbing. Would definitely stay here again.
Perfect place to stay and unwind from your busy life. We loved riding the golf cart around, wildlife watching and kayaking. The Blue Chair was beautiful 💙

Amazing in Every Way!
Blue Chair Key is a dream! Absolutely everything you could possibly need- and much more- was provided! We enjoyed the deck and caught lots of fish. Highly recommend adding the golf cart for exploring the island. Thank you Pelican Reality for ensuring our stay was perfect!! We will return!
We absolutely loved this property, and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in appreciating the nature that abounds in Cedar Key! The view from the house is beautiful (a spoonbill flew in just as we arrived), we were able to put in kayaks from the dock, and the house had been beautifully renovated post storm. It's a short trip to town, and a short walk to the bridge for sunset. The rental company was great too!
Love this cottage. We are at 2nd St. cafe and Steamers. Love riding around on the golf cart. Cedar Key is still recovering from the storms but it is still a charming town. If you need any advice on how to catch catfish, let us know.
This is what you would expect for all the right reasons for an island get-away. We spent 2 weeks at the Blue Chair. Hope to be back soon!

About the host
Hosted by Pelican Vacation Home
Cedar Key holds a very special place in our hearts. It isn't just where our business is located; it's the backdrop to our lives, our family, and our community for the past decade.
Our journey here began as marine biologists. Stephanie started her work at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) by the Channel 4 bridge in 2015, and Johnny joined her in 2016. For nine years, we pulled thousands of nets and measured hundreds of thousands of fish to help preserve these precious local resources. While working full-time, we earned our Master's degrees in Fisheries Science. After our time with the FWC, we both took positions with the University of Florida's Nature Coast Biological Station (NCBS), deepening our connection to the area's incredible ecosystem.
This community holds so much history for us. We were married on Atsena Otie Key in 2022 with beautiful Cedar Key as our backdrop. In 2023, we welcomed our daughter, Eva. We also have 2 rescue dogs, Goose the GSP and Honey Bee the pointer mix. Over the last decade, we have forged lifelong friendships and weathered every major hurricane since 2016, from Hermine to Helene. Because Cedar Key has given so much to our family, we are deeply committed to giving back, whether helping clean up after a storm or sponsoring local events. We truly understand the heart and soul of Cedar Key, and as a local business, we are dedicated to making sure its authentic charm doesn't change.
We purchased Pelican Vacation Home Rentals to continue our journey. Our three fantastic managers in the office help us provide next-level service. We strive to answer phones immediately during business hours, with a quick callback if we miss you, and 24/7 support for emergencies. Because of our teams deep connections here, we are able to provide exceptionally personal service. Come stay with us for the local knowledge, genuine care, and hands-on attention that’s rare in the vacation rental industry!
