Koppla av och njut av detta fantastiska 2 sovrum, ett badrum vid vattnet i historiska Cedar Key, Florida. Huset har en stor skuggad trädgård med privat brygga. Bonaire House har de ursprungliga trägolven och infödda omålade knutiga tallväggar som ger värme till detta unika ursprungliga Florida-hem. Det stora sovrummet har en drottningssäng och det andra sovrummet har 2 enkelsängar. Några av de ursprungliga ägarnas rätter, dekoration och konstverk visas fortfarande, vilket lägger till mycket charm till detta "Florida Cracker House"

Titta på det rikliga vilda djur och vackra soluppgångar från bakre veranda eller från bryggans däck. Det finns vackra kranar som sitter på kajen nästan dagligen. Njut av en kopp kaffe eller ät din frukost på verandan som har en bra gunga och uteservering med utsikt över viken i östra Bayou. Vid lågvatten se Pink Spoon Bills snudda runt för ögon som var kvar.

Sitt på bryggan, fånga krabbor eller fiska utanför den privata bryggan. Grilla din fångst av dagen och ta en picknick eller kanske bara ta en gammaldags wiener stek i den stora skuggade trädgården. Kanske ha en omgång hästskor! På hösten kan du njuta av en utomhus eld eller ostronstek. Det nya däcktillskottet i slutet av bryggan är utrustat med en bekväm fiskrengöringsstation. Tillgång till djupt vatten kanal nr 2 är cirka 250 meter bort. Du behöver inte ta dig in i din bil ... båtuthyrning och fiskematerial är tillgängliga tvärs över gatan vid Cedar Key Marina.

Gymnasiet tennisbanor är öppna för allmänheten, du behöver inte ens en reservation! En basketplan ligger vid stranden i centrum, gå bara med i ett pick up-spel!

Om du letar efter ett snyggt, avancerat hus är detta inte platsen för dig. Men om du letar efter en avkopplande, rolig, intressant, gammaldags semester med din familj eller vänner, då Cedar Key och Bonaire House skulle vara perfekt passform!

Cedar key

Calm and relaxing stay. Nice and new private dock was great for fishing, relaxing and bird watching. Very quiet town so we were able to stay in and catch up.

Great Location and View

The house is in a great location to access Cedar Key. The back windows and deck offer great views of a mangrove backwater. The house met all of our needs. We recommend it highly.

Wonderful location

We really enjoyed our stay here. The views were so relaxing and despite being on the main road it was surprisingly quiet and private. It was close to everything we needed and wanted.

Another wonderful weekend at the Bonaire house!

We had a great stay at our favorite little waterfront cottage. The weather was perfect and we spent most of our time on the back porch enjoying the birds and the tide. Can’t wait to come back!

A real Cedar Key flavor

We had a very relaxing stay at the Bonaire House. The house was very clean and well equipped. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in spending time in Cedar Key.

Cedar Key Cottage

Beautiful setting on the water. Cottage was exactly as described online. It was well stocked with everything we needed. The town of Cedar Key was fun to explore. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Lots of nature areas to explore. We enjoyed our stay there.

Great week!

Bonaire Cottage was perfect for us. Low key, comfortable, close enough to the business district but away from the busy-ness. Lots of birds/fish to watch from the deck and dock. While the week started chilly (certainly not our host's fault!), things warmed up nicely by the end of the week. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Osprey nest

We had the greatest time at this cute charming old Florida cottage. The ospreys were the highlight of our stay. We watched the babies grow up. The house was very cozy. The beds were very comfortable & the back porch was the best! Highly recommend anybody who wants to stay here looking for a little old Florida charm. You can’t go wrong with this Florida cottage.

A Charming Cottage

Really enjoyed the cottage, clean well stocked. You really feel like you’ve stepped back in time. A LOVELY TIME😊. The premiere host was AWSOME from the booking to the end of stay. Any questions she answered very quickly.

Wonderful Old Florida

If you are looking for a comfortable old Florida cottage on the water, this is perfect! It’s hard to find this kind of nostalgia. We loved the pine paneling and big back porch. The furniture was very comfortable. We watched nesting osprey and saw spoonbills, pelicans, herons and ibis. It was so peaceful and de-stressing. We will be back! Cathy Smith

Anniversary weekend

My husband and I enjoyed our 47th wedding anniversary here! It was wonderful! I said you know its a good vacation when you don’t want to go home. Thank you for easy and quick checkin. We spent. most of our time on the back porch watching birds! The sunrise was amazing!

A quiet vacay

The house was as advertised and we had a nice stay. The 4 for cleanliness is because we didn’t cook during our stay but we did buy a carton of ice cream. We had paper bowls and got a spoon out to dip the ice cream . The spoon was filthy other than that the house was clean and we were happy.

Wonderful Experience !!!

I loved this cottage ! It is SO Cedar Key! The backyard and porch is heaven on earth. I could barely wait to wake up, grab my coffee and head to the porch swing every morning. The salt marsh is gorgeous and so many birds visited me. I had a campfire at night. The inside of the cottage was immaculate, cozy and I felt right at home. Bed was very comfy. I loved it here so much I made a reservation to return in a few weeks!

The Friendliest Town!

We really enjoyed our stay at Bonaire Cottage. The property was clean and very well stocked. The beds were also very comfortable. The location was perfect for a quick ride or stroll into town, or for a drive to one of the many walking trails or kayak spots. You are right on the bayou. We saw many types of birds, and enjoyed watching the nesting osprey right in front of the house. Do bring bug spray! The people of Cedar Key are extremely friendly and welcoming. We loved the small quiet feel of the town and enjoyed some excellent seafood. We will return.

Three old ladies just chilling and a grilling!

Perfect in every way! The cottage is comfortable and cozy and loaded with old Florida charm. We felt right at home the minute we walked in. Beds are very comfortable and most every item you need is there. View and wildlife fabulous and location is great. We had so much fun, never even turned on the T.V. Spent majority of our time on the back porch. Rosemary, the owner made us feel right at home. Not much traffic or tourist in Cedar Key which is just exactly what we wanted. Looking for a relaxing vacay this is the perfect spot. Highly recommend renting this cute cottage!! We will be back next year for sure. Thank you Rosemary, we had the best time!

Adorable house, great area to visit

Loved this cute, older house and the attention to detail. Could have spent a week just sitting on the back porch, enjoying the view. Really enjoyed all the little things; books, games, great amount of cookware in the kitchen, and we kept discovering different things like the way the pots are painted on the front porch and decorations inside. Too cold to fish but loved that there were fishing poles there as well. We especially loved the Cedar Key poem hanging and the literature on the coffee table about the history of Cedar Key. We visited 3 of the restaurants on the Gulf and they were all worth returning to. Loved the laid back atmosphere of Big Deck; a couple of the local cats wandered in and hung out with us. Tony's clam chowder did not disappoint and the soft shell crabs at Steamers were delicious! Didn't get to stay long but really hope to come back to this house and the Key sometime in the near future.

Comfortable Bonaire house on Cedar Key

The house easily met our needs. The house was comfortable and convenient for our needs. We were surprised to find the kitchen well stocked with a wide variety of utensils, pots/pans, etc. The pictures in the listing fairly portrayed the interior and exterior, except for one thing; there are no pics of the bathroom. Again, we were surprised to find the bathroom large and clean. Most of the daylight hours we were in the house were spent on the backside of the house. The variety of birds demand your attention, and your binoculars. Watching the birds and the black and red (redfish) drum work the oyster reefs became our everyday, twice per day, activity. We would recommend Bonaire house to anyone with 4 or fewer people.

I was born and raised in Cedar Key, I met Dave there in 1977. We got married in the Cedar Key Episcopal Church in 1989. We resided in Austin Texas, and owned and ran a automotive repair shop and a body shop for 25 years. We have two children that are young adults that love to come to Cedar Key and bring their friends. Their friends usually plan to only stay one week but end up staying 3 or 4 weeks because they are having such a great time! I sold the automotive shop in 2016, retired and now travel to Cedar Key, and numerous other wonderful locations to fish, eat good food and spend time with my friends and family.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We chose to buy a house in Cedar Key because we love the gulf coast, with all of its wildlife, great fishing, good seafood, and all the wonderful places to go that are nearby. The people there are so friendly. We have a lot of friends and family there. It is so different from our hectic lives in Austin. Once we get to Cedar Key, we turn off the computers, phones, and any other high-tech gadget we have, and start relaxing and trying to really reconnect with one another. The wonderful thing about being in Cedar Key is the time we really spend together there, the kids walk down to the City Park at the beach at night and play basketball, then come home and play board games for hours...you can hear their laughter next door. We sit out on the back porch and just swing and talk... sometimes we build a fire in the fire pit and have a wiener roast. Over the years as I have traveled I have met so many people that have been to Cedar Key and fell in love with the area and way of life. Everyone that vacationed in Cedar Key as children told me that their fondest memories of growing up or vacationing were from when they traveled to Cedar Key. We LOVE it too!!! And can't wait to retire in Cedar Key.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

It is a short walk to downtown Cedar Key's restaurants, shopping, and fishing pier. We are direct across from the Cedar Key Marina where you can get all of your boating and fishing supplies. Enjoy the boat dock behind the house, it has a deck area that is great for watching the eastern sunrises. Bikes, kayaks, golf cart rentals, boat tours are all within walking distance. The fishing is terrific and so is the bird watching!! You can fish right behind our house and catch fish (dock closed for repairs). It is so beautiful out around the other islands. We go almost every year and tour the Old Lighthouse on Seahorse Key. The Pelicans are nesting then and when you go up in the lighthouse you can see hundreds of momma pelicans feeding their babies. We see manatees every year out around North Key, they are fascinating whether it is your first time or 10th time to see them. When we are coming in from fishing there are always dozens of porpoises that are feeding we stop and are amazed how close they will come up to the boat. You can almost touch them! You won't find a better place than Cedar Key for spectacular sunsets or sunrises!! Be sure to bring your camera! Also, bring your water shoes...during the full moon when there is the Spring tide, the tide goes REALLY low, which makes it perfect for walking out on the Sand Spit and collecting sand dollars. (Try not to step on them!) There are so many day trips to take near Cedar Key: Manatee and Fanning Springs, Suwanee River, Ichetucknee Springs, you will be amazed how truly beautiful...so much nature....so inexpensive!
