The pocket doors open up to give you a true indoor/outdoor living experience that is available in very few places any time of the year. The floors are Italian cast stone. All appliances are high end Bosch including a dual fuel range with gas cook top and electric oven. The extensive collection of kitchenware is from Williams Sonoma.
The Great Room is just steps from your own pool that features Spanish glass tile. The covered BBQ patio, with its Vermont Casting gas grill, has been doubled in size for comfortable outdoor dining. Other outdoor features include a teak bar with stools, garden fountain, extensive landscaping, a 100 year old Guanacaste tree (the National tree) , extensive outdoor teak furnishings with umbrellas and complete privacy.
The Great Room has an extensive entertainment system complete with a flat screen TV and wireless high speed internet. There are volume controls in each room. The master bedroom has another flat screen TV and second DVD player.
The home is located on the gated and guarded Point property with private internal access to both the Tamarindo and Langosta beaches in less than 3 minutes. It is a 7 minute walk to the Langosta Beach Club.
You have full membership at the Beach Club during your stay. The Club features a full gym, exercise studio, large infinity edge pool overlooking the warm Pacific, private cabanas, chases and umbrellas on the beach, a tropical French restaurant and a pool and oceanside bar. It is a great place for all ages. Full concierge service provided by Pura Vida Luxury Rentals at the Ibis at the Beach con across the street from the Club.
Tamarindo features over 60 restaurants that range from local food to great BBQ and pizza all the way to exceptionally fine dining. All of this is in a casual beach atmosphere so leave the dressy clothes at home.
We can arrange an almost endless number of outdoor and water activities including surfing, sailing, snorkeling, zip lining, wildlife estuary tours, horseback riding, Quad (ATV) tours, volcano visits, world class sport fishing and many more. This is also a great place to just kick back and relax. Read a book at pool side or on the beach. In Costa Rica, we call it Pura Vida, the good life.

Why Bob Wilson chose Playa Langosta
Tamarindo is the heart of Costa Rica's Gold Coast. It provides the look and feel of Costa Rica with the conveniences that make life easy.
What makes this House unique
Our home is very private and quiet but close enough to everything that we don't even need a car. It's the perfect blend.

My husband and I loved the stay here in Tamarindo Preserve. Wonderful to have a home while away from home. And the showers....oh my goodness! You just need to experience the outdoors this way for yourself : ) We loved being greeted everyday at the security gate my Jovani - most incredible man. Made our stay so much brighter. There were a couple small issues but Stefano was always available and wonderful to work with. We WILL be back here for sure.
Casa Sereno, perfect vacation home
My wife and I stayed here the week of Thanksgiving and absolutely loved it. The back yard is definitely the nicest of all the homes in this gated community. The outdoor showers are pretty cool too.
A quick thank you to Bob, Stefano and Juan! Exceptional customer service above and beyond what I've experienced in my other travels. Whatever you need they will take care of it.
We followed the recommendation of another person's post regarding the air conditioners. They are not USA units so they are not built to run constantly. We left the units off until we went to bed. The bedrooms cool down in a matter of 10 minutes. So don't run the units all day because they'll most likely crap out. We never had a problem with our units while the neighbors did because they ran them non-stop. And you don't need them during the day because even though it was 90 degrees outside it was never that hot at the house with all of the tree cover. The breeze created by opening all of the pocket doors was fantastic.
It is only an 8 minute walk down to the Langosta Beach Club or a 15 minute walk into town.
We ended up spending a lot of time closer to the house because of the amenities nearby. We ate a lot at Cala Luna or Capitan Suiza which were on either side of the gated community. The food at these two hotels was exceptional. We were able to eat at a table on the beach twice at Captian Suiza. I highly recommend!
What's also convenient is the little shop right across the street where you can book tours like zip line or buggies. The buggies were fantastic and be sure to request the muddy route. Don't miss the ice cream that they have in the shop as well. Very rich and creamy. My wife also enjoyed the coffee here morning or afternoon. $2 coffee or ice cream. Sure beats making your own or walking in to town.
If you want to avoid the busier Tamarindo beach in front of the beach club then walk up towards Langosta Beach and follow a trail down to the water. Very quiet and exceptional beach.
I would definitely stay here again if we make it back to Costa Rica. We enjoyed the quiet seclusion away from the busy town of Tamarindo.
The house was amazing
We loved the house it was vert nicely decorated and felt vert safe as it is gated and there is gaurds walking around checking things out. Not intrusive either.
The iguana in the trees around the house and pool were very entertaining.
The house was not on the beach but a very short walk down to the beach and the beach club was wonderful.
Beautiful House - Detailed review including the positives and negatives of the property
We spent the summer in this house and know it quite well! It's very safe here and despite prior comments it is in a fully enclosed gated neighborhood except for one path to the beach (i've walked it many times). It is also patrolled by security 24 hours. The house itself is really beautiful we stayed here with a 5 and 7 year old and it is well equipped for cooking and entertaining. There are 2 tvs one in the master bedroom, one in the living room. The living room has a DVD and Blu-Ray Combo. It also has a surround sound system that i never could get to work however i only spent 10 minutes trying. There is a stackable front load washer dryer system that worked well for us. The pool in the backyard is great as mentioned in a prior post it doesn't have full sun. Although it gets a good bit of sun throughout the day and with the heat here you don't really need direct sun. The house is also filled with some great books (i've read a lot of them). Also on the first floor is a 1/2 bathroom. There's a winding tile staircase to the second floor with the 2 bedrooms. Both of the bathrooms are showers (no tub) They are also partially outside so you must keep the door to the shower and also the door to the bedroom closed at all times. However, we loved the outdoor shower it's really nice to listen to the birds and the sounds of the tropics while you shower. We did not have a car while we were here and walked to town or the beach club everyday. You can walk along the beach by cutting through the back of the neighborhood or you can walk out the front and take a dirt road to town. We commonly walked out to the road and then cut through Capitan Suizo to the beach this is a little easier and gets you into town in about 15 minutes. The internet in the house is slow compared to the USA but pretty standard for Costa Rica. We are able to use Skype and stream media with one device at a time. The negatives are that the A/C doesn't work very well. There are 3 compressors in 3 zones. One for downstairs and 2 for the bedrooms upstairs. The downstairs A/C will work for about 3 or 4 hours set at 78 degrees and then it will freeze up. The kids bedroom only works for about 2 hours before freezing up and the master bedroom works for most of the night without freezing up as long as you remember to turn it off during the day. The other downfall is that the house is not sealed up well, so there are a few harmless creatures wandering in and out mostly geckos and ants.
I agree with previous comments by Laurel. Additionally, the grill never worked although we reported it the first day . Of the 3 safety deposit boxes only 1 worked which we also reported immediately. The gate keepers were always very pleasant and opened and closed the gate when ever we came or went but the back of the property was totally accessible to anyone. We kept the security system on always. The restaurants in town were very good but the town was in very rundown shape. The roads were awful and there was no parking in town if you did have a car. We depended on a taxi service.
Nice House, Unexpected Location
This house was described perfectly in the listing. We were happy with the house after they repaired the air conditioning. We were not happy with the location. There is no view, therefore no water view, no sun on the pool area. But most of all, the 7 minute walk to the beach was down a dusty, very unpleasant road, and it just gets you to the beach, not to the Langosta Beach Club. That is still down the beach. Then the town of Tamarindo is still further down the beach. For dinners we had to take a taxi - the dusty, dark road was not appropriate for walking after dark. So we felt somewhat mislead by the photos of the Beach Club, thinking we were pretty close. That being said, Bob, Juan, and Stefano were fantastic in helping us get our luggage to the house, lending a local cell phone, booking trips, arranging repairs. Really great guys.
