The historic Shadow Trails Inn, or "the Lodge" as it is known locally, has been continually updated over each of the last five years years-- new dining room, kitchen , pantry, 1st floor master bedroom, 2nd floor media room, laundry room, gas fireplace, 3 remodeled bathrooms, new lakefront flagstone patio with path and steps directly to the lake. A new dock with additional sun deck is big bonus in 2018!
Unlike homes on narrower lots, every room, every bedroom at the Lodge has a view of the lake !
Originally built in 1909, this red pine log home played a significant role as one of Walloon Lake's earliest fishing lodges. The Lodge is a featured landmark on historic section maps that continue to be reproduced today. It is one the last remaining authentic landmarks from early Walloon and the time of Hemingway. Located on the South arm of the Walloon, the Lodge sits on 160 feet of flat, level lake frontage, and is only a few steps from the waters edge. In the true lodge spirit, the home features 3 field stone fireplaces and 6 bedrooms ( 1st floor master and 5 bedrooms on 2nd floor) and 3.5 baths.
Park your boat(s) on the private dock or use the kayaks (6) and canoe for an afternoon paddle. Play basketball on your own court, or pull the group together for speedmitton, wiffle ball or croquet on the expansive side yard.
The Lodge has hosted and entertained vacationing families for more than 100 years. We invite you to join that traditon and be part of a special Walloon experience.
