About Cheryl Savan

I'm an avid hiker, skier and love being out in nature. I'm a professional photographer and also work on film productions.

Cheryl Savan purchased this condo in 2011

Why Cheryl Savan chose Tahoe Village

Lake Tahoe is just a short drive from the San Francisco Bay Area. For many years before buying this property, my husband and I always spent much of our vacation time up in Tahoe, hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. And sometimes just taking it easy. We decided to buy this property so that we would have a very special and cozy place to stay when in Tahoe that had exactly the amenities we wanted, and which we knew was very nicely furnished. We chose this ridge top location as it was perfect for us - we could hike or ski without needing to drive, experience the quiet of the mountain wilderness but still be a short hop from the casinos, and because it really is a magical spot. We hope you love this property as much as we do!

What makes this condo unique

The construction quality of the building our condo is in is very high. The building has very 'good bones'. One of the benefits from this is that it is very well sound insulated. So, on top of being in a very quiet location, it is especially quiet when you are in the condo. Both my husband and I sleep especially well when we are there, better than we do in our regular house.

It's possible to have a vacation at our condo and never drive. You can walk to a full restaurant & bar (The Fox & Hound) that has great burgers and pizza. There are buses & shuttles that you can take down to the casinos. And it's cheap and easy to call a cab to either go to or from the casinos. However, even though the location is so convenient - you are on top of a high mountain ridgeline surrounded by total wilderness, and it is amazingly quiet. So, it's the perfect spot for us, and we think you will love it too!

My husband and I enjoyed this home away from home. It was clean and in a easily accessible location. We would definitely stay here again.

Quiet condo in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

I surprised my husband with a trip to Lake Tahoe for his birthday this year. The condo was only one hour away from the Reno-Tahoe Airport, which was a very nice and scenic drive. We took the longer route so we could drive by the Lake on our way into Tahoe. The condo itself is very quaint and nice; tidy and filled with everything we needed for our short get-away. The view of Lake Tahoe from the front of the condo was to die for! It was so quiet and peaceful all around the condo. The room itself was clean, comfortable and usable. The location was private and romantic. Cheryl was very helpful in every aspect of planning our trip; she was very quick to get back to my emails and had answers to every question. She even sent me a list of things to do as we were arriving! The first day, we followed Cheryl's directions to a hiking trail which was close to the condo (about one mile). It was gorgeous! We watched the sunset behind the Lake from the top of the mountain. That evening, we drove down the mountain into California (only 15 minute drive from condo) where we found a great brewery, called the Stateline Brewery & Restaurant, to eat. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was fantastic! The next day was filled with more hiking along the South side of Lake Tahoe down to Emerald Bay followed by lunch at California Burger Company (great burgers and great beer!). The third day, we visited the beaches on the North side of Lake Tahoe; Hidden Beach and Sands Beach; both very beautiful! We went on a Dinner and Dancing Cruise on Lake Tahoe ($89/person). The food and scenery was good, and the live band was even better! Coming home every night, we were very comfortable with the complex itself. It was nice to relax and watch a little TV before heading to bed each night. I loved using Cheryl's kitchen! We had breakfast at home every morning, and some days lunch. Her kitchen had everything we needed. All in all, we had a fantastic trip, and the comfortable, safe condo was the icing on the cake! Thank you for everything, Cheryl!

This is the place to be to get away from it all

  • 5 of 5

Great locations with stunning views of the lake from almost right outside the front door. The place was very clean and well organized with plenty of plates and silverware. The humidifier available in the room was a lifesaver due to the dry mountain air at those elevations. The location, amenities and nearby food and entertainment at an exceptional value made for a fantastic week! We will be recommending this place to anyone planning to stay in the south Tahoe area.

Lake Tahoe condo

  • 3 of 5

Location of the condo was perfect for someone wanting to be out of the city. Appliances were good and plenty of linens for a weeks stay. Go to the Fox and Hound for good food and drinks. Friendly staff. I was disappointed in the carpet cleanliness. I think it is time to replace along with the mattress. I would definitely put in a king the next time. For some reason I assumed it would be--

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for letting me know about the carpet! As soon as I received your feedback I contacted the carpet cleaners and had them clean the carpets right away. The carpet is now thoroughly cleaned. I apologize that you weren't happy with the condition of the carpet. I'm sorry that you didn't notice that in the description on the listing for the condo I indicate that the bed is a queen size bed. I try very hard to be as accurate as I can in the description of the condo. I truly apologize if it wasn't clear to you. I'm going to review the description again to make sure it is clear that we have a queen size Beautyrest mattress. Thanks again for your feedback and letting me know about the carpet. We work hard to keep the condo in great condition so it is really helpful when guests let us know about issues that have happened to the condo so that we know to take care of them right away. Cheers, Cheryl

Beautiful view from outside

  • 3 of 5

it was really small and cozy. It was very quiet and clean. We enjoyed having a kitchen to prepare our food in after snowboarding. We gave it 3 stars because of the shower curtain looked gross at the bottom and the chairs in front of the tv were not comfortable.

Owner's Response: Thanks for letting us know about the shower curtain. I just sent a replacement so the cleaning crew can put in a new shower curtain.
