Hale Ola is an original island-style beach house, recently remodeled, with beautiful panoramic views of the West Maui mountains and Kanaha Beach Park. The two acre property - well known on the North Shore as "Honeybun's" - features swaying palms, grassy lawns, and your own sandy beach cove with a private windsurf launch. Enjoy perfect north shore trades or watch the action from your ocean-front Jacuzzi. The new, spacious living and dining areas open onto a covered outdoor lanai with gas BBQs and entertaining area. The remodeled kitchen features all new appliances, a new wine fridge, and larger windows. A new indoor laundry room has been added. Hale Ola is an excellent vacation home for those looking for an affordable yet private beach house!

Located in Spreckelsville on the North Shore of Maui. Just 3 minutes drive to Paia Town and 10 minutes to Kahului and Kahului airport. Kihei and Wailea on the South Shore is a 30-45 minute drive, and Lahaina and Kaanapali on the westside is a 30-45 minute drive.

Other beaches nearby: 5-minute drive to Kanaha beach park, 2-minute drive to Baldwin/Baby Beach, 5-minutes to Tavares Bay and Ho'okipa Beach Park.

A lovely house, very clean and stocked with almost everything you can inagine. The property manager was very responsive to questions and helped us sort the couple of small issues we had. The grounds are beautiful and the private ocean access and hot tub were just the ticket for a relaxing time.

We were all thrilled with the house and location. We especially enjoyed eating outside on the deck, as well as looking out over the little beach from the lawn. It was great to have plenty of seating and tables. A definite winner all around.

Wonderful accommodations!

This house was perfect for our needs. Many happy hours were spent catching up with our friends on the lanai, gazing out at the ocean. Great location for our activities in Haiku and Upcountry. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Family celebration

We had the most amazing time celebrating in this amazing beach home. The view was the most magnificent I’ve ever seen on Maui. The house was clean and comfortable and the kitchen was a dream. We will definitely stay here again!

Wonderful place

We had a great time at this beautiful property, using it as a homebase to visit family and explore the island. The check-in and checkout process was very simple. The home was cleaned, well-maintained, and had everything we needed. The views, sounds of the ocean, and ocean access are amazing. Highly recommend.

Beautiful restful comfy

We arrived late to a beautiful clean 4 bedroom home listened to the waves hitting the beach every night. Were able to swim needed to wear water shoes always a surf but water was warm. Members sat in hot tub numerous nights wonderful kitchen well stocked much needed washer and dryer the only issue was needing more fans in living kitchen area tended to get warm with doors and windows open. Lovely hard and within 30 minutes of most beaches on other side of island. Only heard plane traffic first night got used to it the beach overtook the little noise planes made would recommend for families just need rental car to get around loved out time there

Fantastic

My wife and 4 children, (2 adult and 2 kids) and my father all stayed with plenty of room for everyone. House is large with every thing you could ever need! Wonderful views, and close drive to places to eat and things to do. Would highly recommend this home for a larger family or multiple families vacationing together. Can’t say a single bad thing, great communication as well! The private beach was amazing too!

A Great family gateway

The property is absolutely beautiful well maintained welcoming and secured. Lot’s of room outside for kids to play on the lawn which is right next to the ocean plus you have your own little sandy beach to experience as well. Folks need to try out the hammock and hot tub that’s a must. The house was excellent lots of room for 6 adults and 2 kids. House was nicely stocked with all things needed. We will be back again to this little piece of paradise in Maui.

Amazing location and brilliant spacious grounds. The house id tired, old and needs an urgent refurb. Kitchen is almost unusable because its too hot and dirty in the cupboards and storage areas due to age and lack of ongoing maintenance

A little piece of paradise

We stayed at this property in 2016 and it was nice, but a little dated. We decided to make another trip to the island and came across this same property and noticed they had done some updates. We couldn't resist because we loved the area so much we decided to rent it again. All I can say is WOW! The house was so nice and CLEAN! Donna was always just a phone call/text away. Anytime we had a question she was always available and very helpful. Thank you so much for making our stay amazing!!!

Fantastic home and location!

We wanted a family get together that allowed flexibility and comfort, this home did not disappoint! The ocean view, grassy areas and very cool beach allowed all the family to enjoy a variety of spots to relax and have fun. We were all extremely happy with the location and amenities. The house was well stocked with the required things and we successfully cooked many meals together very easily. It can be windy but that was also pleasant to cool down warmer days, the hot tub was loved by all! The airplane noise was insignificant and hardly noticed after the first day, it’s truly a ‘nothing to worry about’ thing! We would certainly book again and tell anyone and everyone that it’s a perfect A+ vacation spot. It’s truly a magical location!❣️

Paradise

Nothing but rave reviews for this property. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. We usually stay at the Honua Kai but decided to give this house a try this trip which included 2 families/8 guests. Beds were all very comfortable. Kitchen was fully stocked. The yard was the best feature with plenty of room for the kids to play games. We spent a lot of time on the private beach and hot tub at nights. Food trucks are walking distance down the road. 2nd fridge was great for drinks. There is bike path right by the property to do 3-5 mile runs. To the right of the private beach is a great place for snorkeling and where sea turtles lay out in the early am. We brought a kayak and were able to launch from the private beach. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Heaven on Earth

We had an amazing week in this absolutely beautiful home. The property was just perfect! The home was easily accessed with the provided check-in instructions, extremely clean and just the most beautiful property that my family and I have stayed at in all the years that we have been using VRBO. I was initially somewhat concerned that the home did not have air conditioning in the living rooms, dining room and kitchen, but the cross winds kept the home cool. We used the air conditioning in the bedrooms during the hottest hours of the day when needed, but most times the winds off the ocean kept the home very comfortable. Access to the ocean off the small private beach was just perfect. We saw many sea turtles swimming by each day, watched the wind surfers and even snorkeled earlier in the mornings when the ocean was calmer. We will definitely rebook in this home when we return to Maui. Thank you Donna, the property manager and James the property owner for sharing your little piece of paradise.

BEST PLACE ON THE ISLAND TO STAY

I lived in Paia, north shore/upcountry area of Maui 30 years ago and was a bit nervous about coming back. I knew that the Lahina and Kihei condo/resort scene was not a good fit for us and was delighted to find this AMAZING home still available just a few weeks before we arrived. The home is in central Maui and is super easy to base day trips from - little traffic in this area with the exception of Paia. The airport is nearby, so be prepared for some aircraft noise. It really didn't bother us and in fact the waves crashing on the break wall pretty much muted the noise from the jets. The entire property is very well maintained with grounds that are open and beautiful with no neighbors behind or in front of you (acreage). The house is spacious, spotless, well equipped, and true Hawaii. It is hard to leave the Lanai in the mornings and is wonderful to dine on in the evenings, we never ate a meal inside. There were chairs for the beach, a cooler, beach towels, condiments, spices, and the list goes on. Nice to have a washer and dryer and cleaning supplies if needed. We hope to return some day with friends, it is a big house for just two (4 bedrooms). Mahalo for sharing this special place with us, many memories were made at this beautiful home.

Beautiful Home, Best Location, Clean, Loved It!

This centrally located North Shore private residence is a beautiful rental in the most convenient location on the island of Maui. You are in shorter driving distance to Kihei, Kaanapali, & Hana from this home than if you stayed in one of those locations & tried to travel from one side of the island to the other. The North Shore area is where we will strive to stay in future trips. Upon arriving at the house we were thrilled it was less than 10 min from the airport. This made car rental drop off so convenient (not having to wake up super early & drive 3-4 hours to the airport for an 8am flight). The yard is AMAZING, super soft Bermuda grass, palm trees, fragrant flowering bushes, & a small private beach area perfect for kids. The house has a good layout & air conditioning in every room w/the exception of the kitchen & family/dining areas. We love Hawaii outdoor/indoor living, but not having an A/C option in those rooms & relying on the ocean breeze & fans in summer was a bit much on some of the hotter days. This is the only reason there are 4 stars & not 5 in this review. The kitchen is a chefs dream, 2 fridges was also wonderful as we were a group of 7. Sunrise/sunset you can watch sea turtles swim by, wind surfers pass along, & outrigger canoes row past while in the hot tub! The close town of Paia has the best restaurants & shops. Donna was amazing & just a text/call away if we had questions! Airplanes over head were never a bother or issue. Would love to stay here again.
