Xanadu a Premier Vacation Rental Located on Fair Haven Bay

Our family enjoyed a long weekend off-season celebrating a 90th birthday! The honoree and his children lived in Fair Haven long ago, so it was nice to return to this small lakeside community. This spacious property had beautiful views of the bay! The kitchen setup with double refrigerator, double oven and double dishwashers was perfect for cooking our family meals along with plenty of seating in the dining area for meal and game time! Comfortable living area to converse and enjoy the views. The teens/young adults enjoyed hanging out playing pool and watching movies in the theater room downstairs. The 90 year old did bring his fishing boat which we launched down the road and tied up overnight at the large dock. A little cold for water activities and we did not have the opportunity to fully enjoy the yard and large outside deck, but we did gather around the outdoor fire pit at night and enjoy the hot tub! Don't miss the Colloca winery down the road, the Sterling Cidery, and a visit to Fair Haven Beach State Park! Many thanks to our hosts for helping to make this a memorable weekend!

5 couples just finished a fantastic weekend stay at Xanadu. We had wonderful weather for playing corn hole in the back yard. We enjoyed two nights of fires at the fire pit. Some of the ladies walked to the nearby winery on Saturday afternoon to sample a glass of wine/beer. The communication we had with the owners was awesome and the kitchen was so well stocked! We had a great time cooking breakfast/lunch/dinner in the kitchen and on the outside grill. We all hated to leave this morning to head home.....we could have stayed at least another few days. The pictures are great on the website, but being there in person is so much better. We hope to make this an annual event and come back again next year. Thanks to Bernie & Brad for making this such a memorable vist.

Had a great family gathering, wonder place at a beautiful location. NO problem for a large gathering. HOsts are awesome and loved the house / amenities ! Thank you !

The hosts are amazing! this cottage was very clean, easy to find . Easy access to the town.

Very spacious. We brought all the things for daily use , however they had everything stalked up for us. We were loud at night and i would like to thank them for their patience. 5 stars no doubt !!!!

This was our 3rd visit to Xanadu. We knew the Coopers had been planning to make some upgrades, but the photos don't begin to do them justice! We are a family of 12 (7 adults and 5 children ranging in age from 1-15yrs.) and we loved all of the changes and little touches that make Xanadu even more special. The kitchen is now open plan with 2 refrigerators, stoves and dishwashers. This really cut down on the time we needed to spend in there - despite how beautiful it is! The island and nearby dining room table for 14 mean that everyone can socialize while preparing meals.

We loved the new bedroom arrangements and how attention was paid to places for children to sleep.

The deck has 3 tables and enough chairs for everyone to enjoy the incredible view of the bay and the bluffs of the State Park. The new firepit has chairs for 14 people and a nice concrete patio that seemed to help keep the mosquitoes away. We enjoyed our s'mores in comfort!

There is a small boathouse next to the dock that houses 2 kayaks that may be our favorite addition to the property! Everyone had fun paddling out to Grassy Island to discover there is no grass at all - it is a shoal that is home to several turtles! The boathouse was perfect for storing our fishing gear and floats overnight.

We were so happy the bench was put out at the end of the dock this year. We took our morning coffee out or enjoyed the beautiful sunsets as we sat there.

The Coopers are excellent hosts - available whenever they may be needed, but respectful of our space while we are staying. I cannot recommend Xanadu highly enough! We have already booked our week for 2017 - that speaks louder than words.
