Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family has been coming here annually for so many years, we feel as if Timber Ridge Lodge is our vacation home. Thank you for taking such good care of this special place. We expect to spend many more family gatherings here. Staying anywhere else just wouldn't do. This little valley is so scenic - a little bit of heaven.

Mt. Pleasant, WI

We really enjoyed our stay at Timber Ridge.

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at many vacation rentals and were most impressed with this one. Normally we bring all kinds of kitchen amenities such as electric griddles or spices for cooking or things like saran wrap. Here all of this is provided. Even body wash in the shower and laundry pods for washing clothes was available. We didn't need to run to the store for anything except food and drink.

The house is in a very quiet rural area, yet very close to Hill City and all the surrounding activities the Black Hills has to offer. We routinely saw deer from the house. The kids kept busy playing horseshoes, volleyball and basketball. The adults hung out on the porch and chatted.

Everyone loved their stay here. I highly recommend it. We'd love to return to this house on our next visit to the Black Hills.

Its a great property in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

The lodge was very beautiful, the porches made outside visiting incredible at all times of the day, rain or shine. Many great conversations on those porches as well as viewing sand volleyball games by the younger crowd. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to create meals. The master bedroom was huge and the other rooms were more than adequate. We had a great time.

Clean and quiet retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our family gathering was a huge success because we stayed at Timber Ridge. The convenient location was close to everything and yet secluded and quiet. The home is clean and comfortable with room for everyone to spread out or gather together. We are so impressed we are sending a Timber Ridge recommendation to our extended family and friends.

Perfect family gathering with lots of outdoor space for the kids to run.

  • 5 of 5

The lodge and guesthouse had plenty of sleeping space for our family. We had 14 adults, and 5 children ages 2 to 8. With two separate living areas, the kids could watch movies and play games in one, while adults could visit in the other area. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. We had above average temperatures, so the adults and kids all enjoyed time outdoors. We took advantage of the horseshoe pits, sand volleyball court, and badminton. We cooked a few dutch oven meals in the firepit and enjoyed an evening campfire. The kids especially enjoyed exploring around the creek and trying a little fishing with equipment supplied. Family came from South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado. The farthest anyone had to drive was 6 hours, so it was a perfect central location. We'd love to stay here again.
