"Island Time" offers the perfect setting for a Hatteras Island vacation the way it was intended to be - serene, private, peaceful, and away from all the crowds!

The main home offers 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a gourmet kitchen, a game room with a card/game table and foosball table in a spacious 2500 square feet. Accessed through the main home or through the exterior entrance is a 400 square foot grand-master suite, "The Captains Lounge." The home is situated pond-front on a large private setting in the heart of Frisco village on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore and adjoins a maritime forest, making for a very unique setting.

The “Captains Lounge” is a beautiful and private grand-master suite, featuring a private bedroom with a queen bed, kitchenette, full bathroom, and living and dining area. The living area offers a full-size futon, a 42” smart TV with Blu-ray DVD player and Netflix, situated above a custom built-in electric decorative fireplace. This suite makes for an excellent private honeymoon retreat, mother-in-law suite, or just an additional 4th grand-master bedroom for a larger family gathering.

Back in the main home, you will find a beautiful gourmet kitchen, featuring granite counter tops and a breakfast bar with seating for two. The kitchen offers all stainless steel appliances, a large assortment of pots, pans, dishes, cups and flatware, and is well-appointed with everything you will need to cook family meals. Appliances include a full-size refrigerator/freezer combo, microwave, stove/oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, crock pot, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, and more.

The dining area is complete with a bar-height table with seating for six. A sliding-glass door leads outside to a large back deck with a covered tiki bar, which features a propane gas grill and full tiled wet- bar with bar seating. The back decks offer outdoor stereo speakers, a 6-person hot tub, a table with chairs, lounge chairs, and built-in deck benches overlooking the private pond.

Beyond the dining area is a beautiful living room with a built-in 62” plasma TV, Blu-ray DVD player, surround sound stereo system, reclining sofa and love seat, built-in bookcase, custom tiled flooring, and an additional sliding glass door providing a view of the pond.

Just off the living room, you will find a full bathroom with a shower stall and a bedroom with a queen bed, built-in bookcases, closet, and flat screen TV with a DVD player.

Follow the wooden stairs up to the second floor and find a large bedroom with one pyramid bunk bed (sleeps 3 people) and a full size bed (sleeps 2), and a flat screen Smart TV, DVD player, and access to Netflix. Adjacent to this bedroom is a spacious full bathroom with a bathtub and shower combo. Next, you will find the last bedroom, which features a queen bed, a TV with a DVD player, large closets, and a sliding glass door with a small private balcony.

The backyard is a perfect haven for everyone to enjoy the outdoors, go kayaking or fishing in the pond, play your hand at the corn hole boards, or for an evening with friends eating S’mores around the wood burning fire pit out by the pond.

Our pond-side pavillion "The Islander" offers a quiet, peaceful spot for wedding receptions and family events. The pavilion provides covered, open-air seated dining for up to 40 guests or cocktail style receptions for up to 50 guests. “The Islander” can be personally decorated to suit, or you can choose from one of our wedding packages and leave the decorating to us. The pavilion offers electrical service, cold running water, and lighting for evening events. It is conveniently located by the wood burning fire-pit, and offers a peaceful and quiet pond-side retreat for your guests to enjoy. Please inquire about packages and prices for weddings and events.

“ISLAND TIME” PET POLICY

“Island Time” is a dog-friendly property; however, we ask that you do not leave pets unattended in the home, unless they are kept in a kennel. We also ask that you pick up all pet waste and discard them in the large black trash cans next to the home. We ask that you keep pets off of the furniture and bedding, and that you only use the towels from the laundry area for your pets.

BOOKING CALENDAR AND RATE SCHEDULE

"Island Time" is located in a remote and seasonal destination. While we love the island year-round, our peak tourist season is May-September. We typically book the home for full week stays, Saturday-Saturday. We realize this doesn't work for all of our guests, so we allow shorter stays, but at higher nightly rates.

THE RATES YOU SEE ARE BASED ON A FULL WEEKS STAY, SATURDAY TO SATURDAY, NO MATTER THE TIME OF YEAR OR SEASON. IF YOUR REQUESTED STAY IS DIFFERENT, PLEASE ASK FOR PRICING AS IT WILL BE DIFFERENT. OUR OPERATING COSTS AND BOOKING/PLANNING CALENDAR REMAIN THE SAME, WE WILL GLADLY ACCOMMODATE DIFFERENT CHECK IN/CHECK OUTS AND SHORTER STAYS, BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND OUR RATES/BOOKING CALENDAR ARE BASED ON SATURDAY TO SATURDAY 7 NIGHT STAYS.

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT

Check-in begins at 4:00 pm. Often, if the previous guests are not checking out the same day, the home will be ready much sooner. We will let you know as soon as you are able to check-in. Check-out is at 10:00 am. Please remove all garbage from the home and do a general tidy-up.

I have personally seen how other homes and guests are taken care of by others, and strive to provide the most satisfying vacation experience available.

One of the more unique properties on the Island, offering guests plenty of room to get away from all the usual crowded and cramped homes at the beach. Our homes sit on a very large parcel of property for the Island, and offer a beautiful natural serenity surrounded by nature. You are very likely to see deer in the yard, migratory as well as native birds such as ducks, herons and various geese and swan use the private pond as a daily retreat and overnight stay. The property is very private, offering families a great yard for hanging out, as well as offering a very special spot for a private destination wedding reception or family reunion.

Large house with plenty of room for family members to visit .... Noncommercialized... Perfect for us

Mom, dad, 4 sons, 4 wives and a grandson. House and yard was perfect. Plenty of bathrooms, plenty of beds, plenty of areas for us to roam as we spent our week. The rental is not a fancy commercialized condo parked right next to a bunch of tourist families and their quirks. It is very private and quiet. I thought the place was clean and tidy. We thank you. You might see us again soon. We fished with Marlin mania with my cousin Clinton Knuth as our first mate. Ask for Clinton and I'll guarantee you'll like him. Thanks Jason for a great time...

Good for Large Group

Overall, this is just what we needed and it worked out well. However, if my wife was writing this review, she would note that we found dishes in the cabinet that were not adequately washed. She also thought some of the furniture was more soiled than expected and would not sit on the sofas. It didn't bother the guys. Bottom line, a big house that can accommodate a good sized group.I found the pictures and descriptions to be accurate. Again, the three guys on the trip were very happy and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. My wife, less so. I hope this review helps.

Chilligan's Island

First impressions are lasting impressions and my friends and I were highly disappointed. There is NO beach, don't get your hopes up, its 10-15 minutes away. You pull up to construction trailer park, which is your lovely front and back view; but he'll tell you it's not his property but a horrible eyesore around his property. His picture are taken just so that you don't see around, great job. The homeowner told me due to two hurricanes and 5 ft. of flooding, his yard was washed away and it was, AFTER I arrived and complained about the false representation of his property in these pictures and he proceeded to tell me he is not obligated to make repairs or maintenance the home prior to renters coming. Google says, the last hurricane to hit Frisco, NC was Hurricane Matthew in Oct. 2016, 5 months before my inquiry and 6 months before my arrival. Therefore this is what I experienced during my stay. Chilligans Island Time (look up the Martin episode, you'll head for the hills):

The fire pit and broken and dismantled.

The front and back decking nor the house is as pristine as the pictures display, there's green mold and scum building on the outside of the green siding, the decking has nails sticking out of boards and some of the wood is falling apart borderline rotting, needing replacement. The screen doors are buckling and falling off the hinges. Only certain patches of grass is cut, the other is growing wildly.

All of the above could be fixed if he maintenance his property, but according to him and the VRBO/Homeaway he doesn't have to.

The Wi-Fi is very spotty, sometimes you have a signal most of the time is was connecting, disconnecting and re-connecting.

The inside is as pictured, very dated but nonetheless the same; therefore, the owner will tell you the accommodations. BRING SLIPPERS the floors on the inside are nasty throughout the entire house, our feet and socks were black.

This experience was very unpleasant and sadly I will never rent from an owner again, I will stick with real estate rental properties, I KNOW they maintain their home. Lesson learned.

Rented this place with some buddies for a long weekend. It was PERFECT. Great backyard for grilling. The front yard was perfect for lawn games and wiffle ball. Great escape! The beach was a short drive down the road. Very secluded atmosphere. Everyone I met in town couldn't have been nicer. Jason was very prompt with emails and notifications before and after our visit!

Had another great stay at Island Time. Home owners were great, weather was great. Couldn't of asked for a better stay. The family and dogs had a wonderful time. Amazing fun... It is 5 PM somewhere.

I know this was long overdue, and i cannot say enough about the property. We loved the place. It was amazing...so much fun. The big yard, the awesome hot tub, the grill it was all great.

We spent a whole day only playing frisbee in the yard. Thanks so much to Jayne & Jason who opened their home to us. We are surely to rent this place when we come back for a vacation.

No doubt it was a great choice.
