Recess Retreat is the perfect place for those who want to be close to activities but do not want to hear the noise of the city. Small but has all the comforts of home. Television in living room and bedroom streaming. It has a full kitchen with everything you will need to prepare a meal. Washer and dryer in the utility room. Close to restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping in Tallahassee. FSU and FAMU are only a 20 to 25 minute drive. Able to sit outside around a fire pit and enjoy the night sky. All the property on our road is family owned and very little traffic. You will drive up to the front door to park. Great for retired folks who want to escape the bitter cold on the North. Looking forward to having you experience our property that will take you back to days gone by when life was slow and easy. Nature surrounds you and hopefully will bring peace to your soul. We love our guests and always enjoy our guests who return year after year. They come as guests but leave as friends.

Very nice, new place just outside of Tallahassee (and away from the traffic)! Great attention to detail and it has everything you could need. Hosts Carolyn and Floyd are easy to work with and very helpful with plenty of information given before we arrived. The property was immaculate and wonderfully decorated - we were happy to have found it.
Nice place to stay. We were looking for a place close to Tallahassee for parents weekend. This was a little further than what we wanted, but not that far. It turned out ok because we ended up taking a drive to the Saint Mark's lighthouse, as well. I can say, if you're looking for a quiet place to stay, this is it.

Our Retreat has many fun things to do in the area. Going to the St. Marks Wildlife Refuge is a place you can ride or walk to see the alligators, birds or the lighthouse. Wakulla Springs has a wonderful Lodge where you can enjoy a delicious meal or take a ride on one of the jungle boats but always call ahead to make a reservation before going as they are often totally booked. You may also see the deer or other animals that live around the Retreat. Saw a beautiful deer the last time I went but was not able to get a picture as she sprinted away. It is a quick drive to the university. Straight shot to Tallahassee.
