Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Sleeping Porch, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

If you are interested in tranquility and nature, this is the place for you. Surrounded by trees with undisturbed views of a natural lake with no other structures in sight. The only intrusion is the call of the loons at dawn and dusk and the scent of the northwoods.

Spectacular cedar chalet style home with 25-foot vaulted ceiling, huge stone fireplace and wood burning stove on Lower Twin Lake. There are three plus bedrooms plus additional sleeping (sleeping 8-10 people) and 2 full bathrooms. The kitchen is equipped with 2 electric ovens and 3 electric stove top burners, a microwave, a coffee maker, and a toaster. Bed linens are provided. The huge deck has a table and chairs for dining and lounging, and a Weber grill. Canoes and a kayak along with paddles and safety vests are ready for you to use. You will launch from our private dock. Spacious rooms with three levels of living. Uniquely suitable for children because the lake is shallow and protected off shore.

New Golf Course, Public Beach (w/boat landing) nearby. Great Lake for waterskiing/jet skiing. The dock is protected from wind by the island and nearby foliage.

You will view the rock garden wall from the sunroom. The flowers there are beautiful depending on the week on your arrival.

The home is well cleaned by our professional housekeeper. It is a truly special place that has been well maintained and thoughtfully appointed.

About David

We have four adult children. We have truly enjoyed the house over the years. The House became known to us as 'Camp David'. Truly a special place.

David purchased this house in 1995

Why David chose Northwest

We love the northwoods of Wisconsin.

What makes this house unique

The setting is incredible and you will feel nature all around. The deck is at mid tree level and you feel as though you are in a tree house. The view is beautiful. The lake is quiet and excellent for canoeing, kayaking and boating and is known for its fishing. You can swim from the dock or recline in a chair near the waters edge. Several golf courses are less than 20 minutes away. Go antiquing in and around town. Attend local festivals and activities in town. Local Horseback riding stables are available and hiking trails are plentiful. The wildlife includes eagles, loon, deer, bear porcupine, badgers and many kinds of birds including pilliated woodpeckers and humming birds.

Indeed an unmatched traquility. The house and its location are perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The views from the house are perfect. There are no other homes within view. Peaceful and beautiful. We kayaked the Tiger Cat Flowage every day and burned fires in the fireplace every night. We were visited by hummingbirds, otters and loons. Downtown Hayward is only a short drive away and has a great vibe. We found an amazing bakery and even a butcher where we picked up a pair of thick cut pork chops to grill. Dealing with the homeowner David, was very easy and pleasant. We're already planning our next stay at this house.

Relaxing week on a quiet lake

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this cabin, and we really enjoyed our stay again this year. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Plenty of living space and sleeping accommodations for a large group. The cabin came well stocked with paper products, dish and hand soap, laundry detergent and trash bags. There is a wonderful wood burning fireplace for cool nights.

We have been visiting this chain of lakes for many years, and for our group size, this is the nicest accommodation in the best location we have found. The lake has very little boat traffic and there is abundant wildlife including loons and eagles. We spend a lot of time fishing and always catch a lot of northern and largemouth bass, and a few musky each year. Lots of small panfish that can be caught right from the dock. There are also life jackets and kayaks/canoes for use, although we have not taken advantage of these as we bring our own.

The owner of the cabin is very responsive and readily answered questions we had. He checked in intermittently before and after our trip to be sure everything went well.

We would recommend this property for anyone looking for a nice place to stay on a quiet lake for some real Northwoods relaxation!

Would rent again!

  • 5 of 5

This was just what our family of 10 needed for a fun, relaxing get away from it all. Private location and beautiful lake with access to other lakes, "Camp David" was a great place to stay and I would recommend it to family and friends (in fact I have!) I would definitely plan to book again!

Owner's Response: Thank you Kurt. I appreciate the review. Enjoyed having you as guests. By the way, the house has a sharp peaked roof but it does not come down anywhere close to the ground which is what characterizes an a frame. Please come again.

Delightful Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful escape! The home offered rustic, woodsy charm with a wall of windows for lake views. The huge stone fireplace added to the perfect interior designed for the setting. We enjoyed sitting on the deck that overlooked the lake when we weren't kayaking, swimming, or walking in the woods. Nearby there was a fun lumberjack event, miniature golf, and good restaurants. A perfect getaway that we highly recommend !

Great time celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary

  • 4 of 5

Spent 4 beautiful sunny days at this fine cabin. Plenty of fishing, boating, swimming, playing cards and laughing with the family Our alarm clock were the awesome sunrises and the loons chatting with each other. There was not Internet and it was GREAT being unplugged. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us to hang out together or have our own space from time to time. Lots of room for sleeping. The only issue we had was the stairs going up and down to the lake were a bit tough on my dad.
