About Bryan or Kathy Coffey

We have always loved log homes and built our first log home in 1992 in Colorado. When we found this log home in 1996, we loved it so much we moved in permanently in 1998, to raise our children in this wonderful setting, and remained until 2010. Not wanting to sell our log home, we decided on VRBO because we had heard of so many wonderful experiences with VRBO property rentals from friends and family. Our prayer is that many familys can enjoy the relaxing and refreshing experience our log home offers.

Our family has been in the Hill Country area since 1952. In 1995, we were driving in Oak Ridge Estates and stopped to watch someone feeding a herd of deer, right out of her hand! We learned from her that the home next door to her was for sale! We bought 102 Pecan Creek Drive in January 1996. We came to our new log home on the weekends from our home in The Woodllands, TX, for two years, until we moved to our log home in June of 1998. Our now grown, three older children grew up here, living on lake LBJ, enjoying all the fun and beauty. In 2010, we moved to Lake Marble Falls, and still enjoy visiting our log home on Lake LBJ when we are not renting it out.

Thank you so much for letting us rent out your home for the Memorial Weekend! What a memorable weekend it was for our family!!! We love the house and all the rooms, the neighborhood is wonderful esp with all of the friendly deer roaming in the back yard. The kids loved the back yard and play area! We build a giant slip and slid down the hill!!! The waterfront and boat dock are breathtaking at such a private location! The house came with everything and we never ran out of activities for fun! The adults espically enjoyed the private hot tub and patio area as well as the out door shower. All the girls ended up leaving will steller tans from many many hours of sun bathing on the top deck of the boat dock! We also enjoyed many wonderful meals prepared by the boys bbq style down by the lake at the boat dock! We truly enjoyed our stay and loved your home we would rate it a perfect 10 out of 10 and plan to come back for all of our Lake LBJ vacations! Looking forward to next year~~~The WILPITZ Family

Great for Family Vacation

This is an awesome place to accommodate a large family or multiple families. Lots of rooms/beds, nice yard, bbq pits, and plenty of deer. Central location allowed us to visit lots of different sights in and around Horseshoe Bay/Marble Falls and the rest of the Texas Hill Country.

Would love to go back some time and would highly recommend!

Great family reunion

This is an awesome home with plenty of room. We had 15 people for a family reunion and never felt cramped. Everyone loved the deer that would come around and at one point we had 26 deer in the front yard. It was nice to have use of the boat house. Fishing was not that great but I think it was due to the high pressure that came in. Would definitely come back again.

Nice comfortable home, lots of deer

Very nice home with plenty of room for our group of 17. Homeowners had an issue with a shower but was in the process of fixing it. Understandable for a home rental. We did enjoy our stay and had no problems with the house. The cove where it is located is shallow even at 97% it's still only about 3.5-4 ft deep which made it difficult coming and going in 3 20ft boats. I would not recommend swimming at the dock because there is a lot of debris on the bottom of the channel. Two of our boats bent brand new props and the jet ski sucked up a large stick causing it to be put back on the trailer after day 2. Home owners are very nice and responsive to our questions. If the channel were dredged it would have been 5 star. Very nice communities, friendly people.

Owner's Response: Good news!! Our cove is now 6-7 feet deep, debris free and clean water! We got together with our neighbors in our cove, and hired a professional crew to dredge and clean our cove. It took over six months to compete the job and it was very expensive, but it was well worth the expense. Lake LBJ has not been lowered by LCRA since 2008 and this fact made it nearly impossible to do regular cleaning and maintenance, but we found a way to get this job done, because our guests' needs are important to us and we listen to all reviews and make every effort to continue our commitment to excellence in meeting and exceeding the expectations of our guests. We usually take our guests out on the lake to familiarize them with our area and share points of interest as well as known hazards to avoid. (We did not get to do this with these guests.) Also, when entering and exiting our cove, it is safest and best to ALWAYS idle in and out of the cove. Our cove is a NO WAKE ZONE and hazard (rock) free. It seems unlikely that a prop would be damaged in our cove, as there are no hazards in our cove. We have used our 26' wake board boat in and out of our cove for years, with no damage to the prop. Everyone had a great time! Perfect for children as well as adults.

•The layout of the rooms is fantastic. We loved the open kitchen, dining and family room area. We brought along a kid's card table and chairs - plenty of room for it and they loved sitting together.

•The deer were fun to watch and the kids loved feeding them.

•The boat was perfect and the time that Bryan took to show us around was very valuable and much appreciated.

Wonderful home with many comfortable beds and the owners are very helpful! The deer surrounding the house at night made the setting very peaceful after a fun day on the lake. The owners even had a boat available to rent during our stay which was wonderful. We had 18 people in our group and we had plenty of room everywhere!

Our only downfall was that we could not swim in the water at the house (possibly because of recent flooding) but the open water of the lake is very close by and the lake is beautiful. Definitely will come again!

OUR PROPERTY IS LESS THAN A MILE FROM THE HORSESHOE BAY RESORT. MANY OF OUR GUESTS FIND ALL THE AMENITIES OF THE RESORT ASSESSABLE, WHILE ENJOYING THE PRIVACY OF THE LOG HOME, LAKE SETTING, AT A MUCH LESS NIGHTLY RATE COMPARED TO THE RESORT. WE ARE AVAILABLE AS YOUR PERSONAL ASSISTANTS TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR AREA. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK! Our area is enjoyable year round and there are so many things to do! Start your new year off right and enjoy the weather, and attend the Faith Academy Gala and/or set up your super bowl party weekend. February is a great for Valentines and romance. March and April bring the beautiful wild flowers that last and last. Spend St. Patrick's Day, Celebrate Easter, and/or get out on constant level Lake LBJ and fish for crappe, striper and more. There are many fishing tournaments on Lake LBJ during the year. Heart of Texas Wine Tours, 512-755-0937, is ranked #2. It's worth it to read their reviews. May is great for Mother's Day and Memorial Weekend. Sweet Berry Farms at 1801 FM 1980, Marble Falls, 830-798-1462, is ranked #7 of 18 top attractions in Marble Falls. This is a great place to pick your own strawberries and blackberries. They also have fun fall activities. June, July and August are always great any day... Hidden Falls Adventure Park, at 7030 E. FM 1431, Marble Falls, 830-798-9820, ranked #4, dirt bike fanatics and UTV/quad riders. There is a gun club and many shooting ranges, tournaments, etc. This is a 3000 acre ranch and has miles and miles of trails for all riders. This is a fun, family atmosphere. We have been members here for awhile. You can pay by the day, and fees are listed on their website. You can see several fire work displays right from our house, and they usually are spread out over several days and not only on the 4th of July. Mid August is the famous Boat Races on lake Marble Falls, and is only about 7 miles away. The hotels in Marble Falls raise their rates during the boat races, BUT WE NEVER DO. September is labor day and the whole month is one of my favorite during the year. It's a bit cooler and quieter. October brings falls colors and festivals. November is Thanksgiving and there is so much to be thankful for! December is filled with beauty and awe and fun and festivity. The famous Marble Falls Walk of lights are lit from the day after Thanksgiving until January 1st. Main Street Bethlehem is worth the trip. It's so real, you truly feel like you are in Bethlehem, and you wander through the tiny town until you find baby Jesus. People are dressed as they would have been 2000+ years ago, and they are going about their business of merchanting, pottery, etc. It's in Burnet, only about 20 miles North off 281, near the Burnet Square. The Hill Country Theater has many very good play and it's only a few miles from our home. The Marble Falls Theater is on Main Street in Marble Falls and they have many great events. Come and bring your drone to fly over the lake or bring your wake board boat or fishing boat. Stand up paddle boards, kayaking and jet skiing are always fun. There is a great place in Kingsland to rent boats and water toys if you don't want to bring your own or don't have any. Everyone loves enchanted rock and the Longhorn Cavern. (It's a guided tour.) There is a train that goes from Burnet to Austin that has different themes. People sometimes call our area 'the Beverly Hills of Texas'. I don't know much about Beverly Hills, but I have been blessed to spend most of my life right here in the Hill Country, and every day is a new adventure just waiting for us to enjoy and rejoice and be happy, happy! Come stay at our home and believe you can have a wonderful experience that will be your blessed memory you will remember forever and you may even want to come back and stay again and again!
