BEACH FRONT HOME 30 STEPS TO THE GULF OF MEXICO

Keywords: BEACH FRONT HOME ON NORTH CAPTIVA ISLAND.

We are located on the northern tip of the island... on a pristine white sandy beach overlooking the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico. There are 4 acres of private undeveloped land to the back of the property filled with tropical birds and island wildlife... this makes our home very private and quiet!!!

To the front of our home is the Gulf of Mexico, just 30 steps and you can walk right in!

We are new owners, but have partnered with the previous owners to continue caring for the property and our tenants. You will be greeted at the dock, transported to the property and given a quick tutorial on the home and island, golf cart rules, island activities, etc. From there you can explore the island with the furnished golf cart, take advantage of our optional Island Club VIP Membership which offers free bicycle and kayak use, free beach chairs and umbrellas, use of 2 swimming pools, tennis courts and other VIP amenities.

When traveling to a barrier island a beach front rental is a must! The rhythmic sound of waves softly crashing just feet from your dinner table, spectacular sunsets from the porch or the beach, walk directly into the sparkling waters of the Gulf at any time!

The island also offers miles of nature trails for hiking and exploring, over 600 acres of Federal Wildlife Preserve is one of the island’s many treasures. Miles of pristine and un- populated beaches, and depending on wind direction…always a calm beach to enjoy somewhere on the island.

North Captiva Island is a true offshore island, boat or plane access only, golf carts and bicycles on sandy trails vs cars and roads, yet all the conveniences of shore. The island has about 300 home owners, 4 bars/restaurants, a popular pool bar & grill, marina grill, small convenience store, guided fishing and boating tours, gift shop, boat rentals, etc. Once you arrive, you won’t want or need to leave!

Ferries run throughout the day, $20 to/from shore. A 20 minute boat ride from shore, you can leave almost anytime, you just won’t want to! Also daily tour boats depart for island hopping and dolphin watching.

Give us a call or email we would love to have you visit!!!!!!!

Beyond amazing!!!

  • 5 of 5

I would give 100 stars if I could. Everything I read in the previous reviews was spot on. The house was pristine, and the view... pictures absolutely don't do it justice. We saw more dolphins than people. This was our first beach trip with our 3 young children and not only did they have the time of their lives, we actually got to relax as well! There is no "commute" to the beach and no beach bags to pack. We would just step back inside for drinks, towels, snacks, etc. and if our 2 year old needed a nap or a break, we didn't have to pack up the whole family and leave the beach! Since we were on the north point of the island, we were able to watch the most breathtaking sunsets AND sunrises over the ocean! Unbelievable!

Thank you, Mary Beth, for sharing your amazing home! We can't wait to come back!

This is the perfect place!

  • 5 of 5

Rainbow's End is just the perfect place to go and a very special treasure: very clean, well equipped, quiet and simply the perfect place to relax and regain power. Mary Beth is a wonderful host and very supportive ( we had been first time island vacationers and Mary Beth organized everything to work out easy and smooth for us!). Important things to bring are water, sunscreen and bug repellent.Thank you very much for having us! We are hoping you will take us again - may be next summer (especially two fishermen are making plans already!)...

ditto of all the other perfect reviews

  • 5 of 5

This is the most perfect place. The beach is private and sandy with gorgeous shells. The wildlife is everywhere and up close. The house is clean, bright and really well appointed. Oh and Mary Beth gives you all the info you need to make your stay comfortable. Just follow her directions and you can't go wrong. My only mistake was only booking a week.

Lily''s Famiky

  • 5 of 5

We just spent Christmas at Rainbow's End. It was a magical time for us. Mary Beth decorated the house for Christmas for us! It was beautiful!!! Had a Christmas tree in the master bedroom☺️ Mary Beth was wonderful in helping us through our first time visit to North Captiva Island. She gave us great advice in packing! less clothes and more food. Absolutely correct! She was always accessible to answer questions. She was there at the marina waiting for us and pitched right in to unload us and get us to the house and then helped unload! She's a dynamo in a petite sized package. The house is wonderful. Mary Beth gives this house lots of TLC. It's well maintained and immaculate! The kitchen is well equipped and organized. The location is by far one of the best on the island. The beach is very private and natural. We had a ball getting around in the golf cart. Even Lily (our lab) enjoyed the rides. You have to use the outdoor shower!!! The water pressure was great!!! And roomy. Our favorite spot was the screened in porch looking out over the water. We had most of our meals out there where we could enjoy the sound of the waves coming in on the beach. Lily LOVED the porch! She spent almost all of her time out there. The only thing we were not well prepared for was bugs. We went out at dusk our first night and were the main course for dinner for sand fleas and mosquitos. They are fierce! Bring plenty of bug spray! . We hope to return to North Captiva Island. The island experience was a wonderful adventure. Thanks Nary Beth for a great Christmas!

Better than a pot of gold!

  • 5 of 5

Rainbow’s End is the cleanest house I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying a lot. The VRBO photos are accurate, but they do not do the house justice, and working with Mary Beth was great. Our week at Rainbow’s End on North Captiva was the best week I’ve ever spent on vacation, period. I will echo other reviews: plan your meals, take twice the food you think you ought, and half the clothes. Honestly, I wore swim trunks or a pair of shorts, a T-shirt, and a straw hat the whole week. What a delight! It was astonishing, too, how quickly the sound of an internal combustion engine became irksome to me (and I am no tree-hugger!). Our trip was filled with driving the electric golf cart on those sandy roads, exploring the island, walking the beaches, watching the wildlife (this includes dolphins-a-plenty and manatees), and lowering my blood pressure. I’ve vacationed in Florida many years in many places, but this is the only one where I’ve actually considered buying a house. I would not hesitate to buy Rainbow’s End, if it ever came on the market and I could swing it. :-) One cautionary word: If you decide to take the beautiful and quiet, 6+ mile round-trip hike to the south end of the island, TAKE PLENTY OF WATER.

PARADISE FOUND!

  • 5 of 5

The moment we arrived at Rainbows End we knew we had found paradise! From the comfy, and wonderfully decorated interior to the screened outdoor porch and side deck, we were hooked. The website pics are spot-on, but can’t convey the wonderful feeling you get when you actually arrive on that deck! It was most difficult to pry ourselves from that deck... not only did we take up positions in the 2 lounge chairs, watching for frolicking dolphin, soaring osprey and the ponderous but graceful pelicans, but also watching the ebb and flow of the Gulf meeting the bay, in front of the house. Sunrises brought out shore birds, and shell hunting, and the sunsets, were magnificent. We explored many of the island laneways by golf cart, walked the beaches and kayaked the bay and dock areas – even viewing manatees up close and personal in the cove. Surprisingly, we ended up dining in for all meals, using up most of our groceries and even had to take a ferry ride (NCR) to Pine Island mid week for additional supplies. But this was an adventure also! If you are looking for sun, sand, and surf and total relaxation, this is the place for you. This was our first VRBO rental. And we are happy to report that Rainbow's End is immaculate, fully equipped and positioned at the best spot on the island. From our first inquiry, Mary Beth was responsive and very helpful. (Remember, you’re not going to Orlando here!) She fully prepared us for the trip, explaining how one gets to North Captiva, advising us to get ferry reservations early and to make arrangements with the Publix market for provisions to bring with us (there is virtually nothing available on North Captiva itself). Having now spent a fabulous week there, the two best tips we can offer anyone considering a visit to Rainbows End are: 1) do it! and, 2) take half the clothes you think you’ll need – and twice the food (and drink)!

We will be back!

Thank you Mary Beth and Glen, for sharing your bit of paradise with us.
