Les propriĂ©taires de cette maison de 5 ans continuent Ă  l'amĂ©liorer chaque annĂ©e. Relaxing Beach Getaway !

Rental was very clean and came equipped with everything that we needed for our stay. It is situated one row back from the beach, which, with being able to drive and park on the beach is not an issue at all. So handy to be able to load up the truck with beach gear and drive 1 minute to the beach. Carova cottages was fast to respond with any questions I had regarding our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing beach rental that is pet friendly. Our first time at Carova Beach and Summer Paws exceeded our expectations !

Everything You Need for a Perfect Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Convenient and easy to make a reservation and communicate any questions/requests with the host. Received all the information needed to know exactly what to bring, arrival/departure expectations, and how to use the amenities. Cannot speak highly enough of the host and cannot think of a more prefect way to spend a week on the beach than SummerPaws - 5 minute walk (you can drive as well) to watch a sunrise or a sunset on the beach or otherwise enjoy the ocean; 5 to 7 minute walk to the local volunteer fire department to buy t-shirts, ice and other goodies; a hot tub and a pool for those times when you feel like staying closer to the house; a fantastic screened-in outdoor eating area off the uppermost level (enjoyed most of our meals there); and, most importantly for us, SummerPaws is a focal point for wild horse activity! The horses love hanging out all around the yard at SummerPaws. Was amazing! Highly, highly recommend SummerPaws as the place to stay for anyone wanting to vacation on Carova Beach.

The location is great, and we feel right at home in this beautiful cottage. The house offers everything we need for a perfect vacation: a pool, hot tub, beach chairs, games for all ages, smart TVs in every bedroom, grill, screened in porch, outside shower, washer/dryer, and so much more. Our sweet english bulldog, Berta Mae, has come with us every year and loves Carova just as much as we do. We also have had horses visit every year, which we love!! If you’re looking for a low-key, laidback, quiet place to stay - look no further than Summer Paws. This was our 2nd year in a row at Summer Paws as the house is perfect for our family of 4 and 2 fur babies! We loved our week so much last year that we decided to stay for 2 this year! The house is clean, well maintained and has everything you could possibly need. The horses visited every day and we even had a few sightings of a beautiful albino deer. This house is so perfectly located that you can easily walk to and from the beach if you don’t want to pack up and drive back and forth every time. We’ve worked with both property managers Laura and David between this year and last and they are both the absolute best!! So down to earth, kind and responsive. Already looking forward to 2025 🖤

Just what we wanted!

Our family’s 10th visit to the 4x4! This house is wonderful! It is well cared for, charming, super clean, a well stocked kitchen and great house amenities. We enjoyed mornings and evenings on the screened in porch. We were delighted when the horses visited a couple of times. It was a fabulous stay! Definitely will stay with Summer Paws again!

Beautiful, relaxing vacation spot

We had a wonderful time at this great beach house! The location is perfect - fairly secluded and quiet, but a very easy walk to the beach. The house is clean and well equipped. The pool and hot tub were both great. Sitting on one of the many decks and listening to the waves while horses wandered below was definitely my favorite part.

I would recommend this cottage to anyone. The property manager, Laura James makes the entire process of renting so easy. She also communicates with you and checks on us to make sure we are comfortable and have everything we need. She is awesome!! In fact I am getting ready to contact her now about our 3rd stay at Summer Paws next summer. Great place,great people, great times!

First Vacation in over 20 Years!

We picked the perfect place to go for our long overdue escape. It was beautiful, clean, quiet! All our top priorities in one place. Watching the horses every morning and evening travel through the yard, in addition to seeing deer, rabbits, and coyotes from our deck was exciting for all of us.

A Huge Fan!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My 2 children and large dog visited the Outer Banks for the very first time this past August and stayed on Corova Beach in Summer Paws. I plan to return to Corova Beach every year, God willing, and would most definitely stay at Summer Paws. There was more than enough room for us with opportunity for 2-4 additional people. The house was beautiful, so cozy and very clean, offered privacy with no houses on top of it, very short walk to the beach, great ocean breeze being in the 2nd row, loved, loved, loved the top story screened in dining area, very accommodating to our beloved dog stocked with food and water bowls and mat, attractive to the wild horses that visited us twice that we saw, amazing property managers, Laura and David. who sympathized and helped immensely when my son lost his ONLY eye glasses and my daughter her ONLY retainers in the ocean on the SAME day and we needed to make emergency purchases from home and ship to an alternate location Corolla, great laundry room which came in handy, like new appliances, including the washer, dryer and dishwasher - I could go on and on as I hated to leave Summer Paws. It was very inviting and offered everything that we wanted and needed this family vacation! After staying on Carova Beach, I can not imagine staying anywhere else. The 4x4 experience was very exciting and exactly the environment I prefer - more relaxed, close to the ocean, 1 minute drive ONTO the beach and thrilling drive up and down the beach, all while being close to the town of Corolla with groceries, gift shops, restaurants, family friendly activities and more.

Perfect!

After a very emotional few hours before even leaving for our trip, we had the most amazing time at Summer Paws. We planned to leave at 3am, and around 4pm the evening before, we had realized that the Chevy Suburban we had rented for the trip was a 2wd and not a 4wd as we had requested. Unfortunately by this time the rental place was closed. As was every other rental place on the planet. Laura was awesome. She calmly talked me off my ledge and helped guide me to securing a 4x4 vehicle for the trip (Shout out to Chase at North Beach Recovery for being such a kind human and John at Outer Banks Jeep Rentals for answering the phone even though he was closed for the day and helped us get what we needed!). Once our vehicle was secured we drove down at 3am as planned. We rented a Jeep (from Outer Banks Jeep Rentals, John came in on Sunday, when they are typically closed) and were on our way! The house is as advertised. The perfect size for our family of 3. (We were going to bring our dogs, but be aware there are limitations on the pets they allow. Ours were too large. It was better for us in the end to not have the dogs. But just future renters, be aware.) The location of this house is spectacular. There are partial ocean views and it is so quiet and peaceful. We could walk to the beach (and I did for my morning walk and sunrise) and it was a 1 minute drive, which is nice when you have all your beach gear. We brought our hammock and enjoyed swaying in the breeze reading a good book on the deck under the house. The lower deck and the deck outside the bedrooms were perfect for my morning workouts and yoga. The screened in porch was where we ate every meal. And we drank our morning coffee and evening cocktail on the upper deck. We saw horses EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! One day we came home from the beach to find a horse blocking our entry into the house. He refused to leave and we had to go around the house to get our daughter to the bathroom (and keep our distance)!!! Other days we had 3 or 4 horses grazing all around the house. It was amazing and the highlight of our trip. There is a lot of unique wildlife all around you! (Don't forget your bug spray!) The house was clean and everything was perfect for us. The pool and hot tub were fantastic. (It helped that we had perfect weather all week, too!) Laura was very responsive to the few minor issues we did have during our stay. I highly recommend Summer Paws. It was amazing and just what we needed.
