Amazing place in the quiet hills of Firenze!
We spent 3 nights here recently at the end of October and were spoiled with the views, the perfect weather, and an amazing host. We loved staying here! We even bought some delicious homemade olive oil from the host. The drive to and from the property is indeed interesting with the narrow roads, so be sure to rent a small car and drive slow. But once you get there, you'll love everything about it. It's charming, a bit rustic but with modern updates, amazing views, and an awesome host. Thanks for the stay! (Grant and Kate)

Love Villa Violetta
The villa is very clean with modern bathroom fixtures and kitchen appliances. The beds are very comfortable and wifi is free. The view is spectacular with beautiful Tuscan sunsets and the garden is lovely and serene. Our hostess Violet is very helpful and nice. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone who wants to stay near Florence, Italy.

Stay Aug 30-Sep 4th
Villa Violetta is a very well located accommodation for those with their own transport. The property is gated (electronic gate opener supplied) with parking. Views are stunning. Roads to and from are narrow and winding (typical of this type of area). Easy access to local shops (Bagno a Ripoli) for supplies - note that most are not open on Sunday so if arriving on a Saturday make sure you stock up that day (and remember bottled water). Coffee maker is traditional Italian (not a plug in) so if you are unfamiliar with how these work, look it up or ask. Patience is required for a good coffee. Note that the water is heated by a gas appliance and gets VERY hot, bear that in mind when showering as there is no thermostatic control (as some of us are used to) - pressure varies according to usage so can cause fluctuations to water temp. Property has everything you really need and Violetta is very friendly and accommodating so if you need something don't be afraid to ask. My wife and I enjoyed our stay here.

Fabulous villa overlooking Florence!
Loved the villa and Violetta! Spent our 40th anniversary here along with our daughter and son-in-law. Such a special hostess who graciously shared her villa and time with us. We could not have asked for a more perfect place.

About the host

Hosted by Violetta Buti

Host profile image
I have worked in tourism for ove 25 years: tour leader, guide in Florence and travel agent. My clients are usually individual travelers or small groups who are looking for tailor-made travels to Italy.
I live 12 km away from Florence, on top of a hill surrounded by olive trees with a stunning view of the dome of Florence.
I grow my vegetable garden and enjoy making jams.
I like hiking and attending exhibits and cinemas.

I rent part of the house where I live - There are separate entrances.

Why they chose this property

My parents bought it in 1986. I came to live here in 2012 because I fell in love with the view ... which is breathtaking.
I have always loved nature ... now I grow my vegetable garden, prepare my jams and harvest olives to produce my own extra virgin olive oil!

What makes this property unique

It's unique for the view of countryside and of Florence. One lives out in the country yet at only 20 minutes' drive to the city.
There is also public transportation available. The bus stop is just out of the property. Recommended only for people with patience:-)
