Stunning lake views complement a wooded surrounding immersing you completely in nature while still offering every modern amenity to make you feel at home!

A 4-wheel or AWD vehicle is REQUIRED to access the property in all seasons and weather conditions.

The space:
Nestled among the trees, you’ll find yourself immersed in the full beauty and tranquility of Hocking Hills at The Chestnut from Chestnut Retreats. Located just minutes from the major state parks and attractions, the secluded yet central Chestnut is the perfect place to get away your way!

Upon entering you’ll be greeted with a large kitchen that is fully equipped and furnished with every cooking accessory to help you make those tasty memories during your stay. Sliding glass doors lead to a large and fully furnished back deck and propane grill. Stunning nature and lake views accompany a cozy surrounding perfect for spending time with those close to you!

In the living room you’ll be greeted with an open space equipped with large cathedral style windows perfect for nature watching from the comfort of the couch! A gas fireplace is equipped to add ambiance as well as take the chill off of those late evenings and early mornings. You’ll also notice a TV equipped with multiple streaming services including Netflix, HBOMax, Disney Plus, Hulu, and Amazon Music premium to use during your stay! We also offer retro video game emulators(SNES/SEGA) and a wide array of DVDs and board games!

Upstairs you’ll find the master suite with a small walk out deck perfect for a quite thought and a cup of coffee as you look out over the trees and lake!

At Chestnut Retreats we couldn't imagine life without our furry family. Thats why The Chestnut welcomes quiet, non-aggressive canine companions when arrangements are made at the time of reservation. The Chestnut limits the number of dogs to no more than two and size of your dog to no more than 75 lbs. All dog guests must be completely free of fleas and ticks, be well groomed and up to date on shots and vaccinations. Advance dog reservations are required since The Chestnut must plan in advance for a pet visit. Please see our pet policy and house rules for complete details and requirements.

Whether you spend your time relaxing by the fire, soaking in the hot tub, or enjoying the water from your own private dock (HOA Owned) on the ten acre lake just a short wooded stroll from the home, The Chestnut has endless entertainment options both indoor and out! While cell service is generally unavailable at the property we offer high speed DSL for our guests convenience. There is a landline telephone available for guests to use. Cell Service can be found a 5-10min drive from the property.
