This home's great location allows you to easily take advantage of everything Denver has to offer yet the quiet, tree lined streets have a real neighborhood feel. When you're ready to head up to the mountains or back to the airport, the highway is less than five minutes away.

Built in 1909 in a neighborhood filled with old homes, this brick house still has some original woodwork and transom windows but all systems have been updated to modern standards. We've furnished the home with a mix of antique pieces and newer comfort items. It's the perfect mix of old and new!

With an open living/dining area and a window to the kitchen, it's easy for everyone to mingle and socialize during meal times and in between. The living room also boasts a 40 inch flatscreen T.V. and blu-ray DVD player with basic cable and a small selection of movies available.

There are a couple of patio chairs on the front covered porch, a great place for sipping your morning coffee. The back yard is a lovely private oasis, perfect for lazing away the afternoon. There is a large gas grill for easy preparation of your favorite BBQ items and a shaded patio table for outside dining. The kids will love the expansive green lawn.

There are two bedrooms on the main level with one shared bath. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. Upstairs you'll find a very large master suite with a queen bed, a 3/4 bath and walk-in closet. Tucked into nooks of the closet are a toddler bed and a single futon. We also have a pack-n-play and bed rails available to accomodate any sized child. Our couch pulls out if you happen to need even more extra space.

Many people these days take working vacations. We do. Free wireless internet is included and there is a small desk in the dining room as well as a large desk in the upstairs bedroom.

Downtown Denver is just 3 miles away with access to great restaurants, ballfields, museums, nightlife and fabulous shopping. Whether you are here for a convention, a wedding, a game or other event, this is the ideal base for all of your activities.

If you are interested in doing a little exploring, the neighborhood business districts have much to offer. Make sure to explore Highlands Square, Tennyson Street and LoDo. There are fantastic restaurants, boutiques, antiques, art and character aplenty.

If there are children in your party you'll want to make a visit to Elitch Gardens or the historic Lakeside Amusement Park, the Children's Museum, the Aquarium, or the Zoo. Maybe you'll just stroll five blocks to the east and run around Chaffee Park.

When you are done exploring Denver come home to what we call 'the city house' and relax in the shade of our big trees, listen for the ice cream truck and tuck in for an excellent night of sleep.

About Jay Stein

Jay runs his own home theater business. Our favorite activities are mountain biking and snowboarding in the mountains surrounding Breckenridge and throughout Colorado and Utah. We get back east (NYC, New Jersey) whenever we can to visit friends and family, but our home is here in the beautiful Colorado mountains. Just recently, we've been enjoying Denver so much more!

Why Jay Stein chose Sunnyside

The winters in Breckenridge get to be a bit long come April and the cabin fever really sets in. We are incredibly fortunate that we were able to purchase a home in the city to broaden our summers and our horizons. The easy access to this neighborhood combined with it's proximity to downtown were probably the biggest draws for us. The house is very welcoming, bright and cheery. The cozy feel of the tree lined streets, the numerous restaurants, and other entertainment options nearby sealed the deal.

What makes this house unique

We love being able to walk out the door and around the corner for breakfast. Every time we are here we try a new restaurant and haven't found one we didn't like. We ride our bikes through the neighborhoods and into LoDo to watch the trains go by. We spend a lot of time just playing in the backyard - tending the garden, sipping lemonade under the patio umbrella, grilling up our favorite meals, and always keeping an ear out for the ice cream truck!

Comfortable well-equipped home away from home in historic neighborhood.

On paper this home looked like a good choice for our family from 3 different states to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. It was clean, cozy, well-equipped and full of character. A basement playroom and fenced back yard made for hours of fun and together time. The first floor bedrooms were not large but perfectly adequate. The upstairs bedroom was quite spacious with a seating area, desk area and skylights. An additional sleeping area had a toddler bed, a twin mattress on the floor and a space for a pack'n play tucked into their separate cozy nooks with twinkle lights, perfect for children to be separate yet together. There was a sliding door to close the area off so adults could have lights on at night without disturbing

the children. The upstairs bathroom worked well.

The home was well-stocked for eating and cooking needs, large washer and dryer, high chair, booster seat, folding chairs, large dining table and 6 dining chairs, toddler toys, books, outdoor eating area, double stroller and fooseball table, something for everyone. There was even a book listing many places to see, restaurants, etc. Jay responded quickly to every email.

We would definitely stay here again and would tell friends and family about this great find.

Lovely home, great location!

Although we had a very, very short stay in Denver, this is a lovely house in a nice neighborhood. The property is charming and well-kept, and there are nice assortment of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. For our needs (proximity to downtown Denver), everything was a short drive away. Would definitely stay again.

Clean charmer at convenient location

We booked our stay here for my brothers wedding and it ended up working out so well! The house is adorable and has a lot of pluses for people with young kids- access to a stroller, baby bath, baby monitor, kids toys. It really worked out well for our group of 4 adults and 3 young kids. Jay was super helpful before our stay and while we were there, helping us to be able to stay an extra 1/2 hr past checkout which gave us time to give kids one more bath. Overall the stay was great!
