Great Stay!

We loved this location and the size and comfort of the house. We would definitely stay there again if we returned to the area. The house is roomy and near many restaurants and a couple beach areas.

We had a great time staying at the Beachcomber III. The place is much bigger than it looks!! There was room for the whole family! We also loved being so close to the water but still in a quiet, family friendly neighborhood! Plus the owner is very responsive and friendly! We will definitely be back!

Another great stay in Colonial Beach

We enjoyed returning to this beautiful and luxurious property. The fact that it has a gorgeous view of the water and is a very short walk to a lovely beach makes this a perfect vacation spot. The kitchen is very well-equipped, and the washer and dryer are great as well. Looking forward to returning in the future!

Perfect family getaway!

Much larger than it looks, a spacious rental with room for the whole family. Clean, white linens are provided making the space feel fresh, clean, and welcoming! Walkable neighborhood with a beach close by and friendly neighbors waving and greeting as they pass by.

Fun Memorial Day weekend

Even if two days of rain we had a wonderful time at the Beachcomber III. The property was clean and perfect size for our group. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed an easy walk to town, the pier and the beach. The owners were more very accommodating and very generous.

Beachcomber 3 is wonderful!

This property is perfect for a weeklong getaway for adults, and also for kids and grandparents. It has three separate queen size bedrooms each with bath, making it perfect for our group of 3 single ladies. The master bath is handicap accessible. There’s also a bedroom with two twin beds.Two separate living spaces with TV make it perfect for families with kids!The photos do not do it justice, it is a large space.We loved the view of the river across the park in front, and it’s a quick trip down the street to the beach.Hosts were nearby and very helpful. If I could give this place 10 stars, I definitely would!

Another great stay!

We chose to stay at this home again after finding it comfortable last year. The location on the point is excellent and a short walk to the beach. For getting around the area we always rent a golf cart. The home is well appointed and we appreciated having two living areas. The kitchen had everything we needed and is a good size with an island. We had a great stay and would come back a 3rd time to the same vrbo for sure!

Great house! Great view! Two large sitting areas in separate rooms allow for different on-going activities. Owners were next door and helped throughout the stay without hovering or interfering. they even allowed a late check out.

Absolutely perfect!

My family of 8 adults and 2 younger children stayed for a weekend and this house could not have been any more perfect. There was plenty of room for all of us. The location was great, the kids loved the quick walk to the water. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed. The owner was so nice. This house was easily accessible for one of my handicap family members that uses a scooter. We would gladly stay here again and already talking about taking another trip.

The home was cute and comfortable. Nice quiet area and well equipped. That said, the beds were very uncomfortable. Seemed like headboards were not attached to frames or very worn out because every time you moved the headboard hit the wall. TV that had Netflix and Roku was in one of the bedrooms instead of in the common areas which was dissapointing. The fenced in yard was great for the dog. All in all i would stay again, provided they replace beds.

The additional televisions in the bedrooms were a guest request and cable was not wired in all of the rooms. We find many of our guests enjoy the option to stream their favorite shows. Family Vacation

Interior needs to be spruced up. Bathroom shower stalls starting to mold. Kitchen floor is coming up at various locations. The driveway is a wood chip type which causes the interior to get dirty. A stone driveway would solve the problem and no problem with drainage and puddling. The small porch deck could be expanded to enlarge and a covering would be great so you could sit outside even when raining. Love the roomy house, owners are great, location is ideal for the beach. Gary and Linda, Glad to have you and your family back! This has been a busy year and we have some repairs coming in the off-season including floors and the glass block in the master shower. I agree that a larger deck would be wonderful, but with zoning ordinances it is as large as we could get. We often find that in inclement weather the many windows in the livingroom, acts like a sunroom. Stay safe and look forward to seeing you again for future vacations! Cathy

Nice place!

As noted, the house has been newly renovated. Pictures don't lie - great layout and nice design. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room. It was great having 3 bathrooms! There are several small beaches all within walking distance. None of them were ever crowded. We took a day trip to Westmoreland State Park - well worth the visit. They have some great hiking trails, beaches AND an Olympic sized swimming pool. Also took a tour at Ingleside Winery - had fun doing the wine tasting. My son, son-in-law and grandchildren went fishing with Captain "Frog" and had a great day! They caught plenty of fish which we had for supper that night. (I left Captain Frog's business card in the binder at the house.) Kids had fun riding the bikes provided by owner - nice small town so safe for kids to ride around.

We first discovered Colonial Beach in 2006 and after enjoying the easy drive from Chevy Chase, MD and the warmth not only of the beach, but also the people...we bought a small cottage on the Point in 2007; ironically next to what is Beachcomber III. We loved sharing it with our family and friends. When not relaxing at the beach, my day job is in the hospitality business and I thought it would be fun to own a vacation cottage rental. In 2011, we bought our first beach rental; Beachcomber I on Hawthorn (sold in 2020) with some of our family members and undertook a major renovation...all of the hard work was worth it...we enjoyed being able to share this hidden secret of Colonial Beach with others. The overwhelming acceptance and positive comments we have received from guests saying how much they enjoyed their stay was very gratifying and in 2012 we bought another rental; Beachcomber II on Wilder. It, too, has been well received by our guests. In 2018, we opened Beachcomber IV on the River, also recently sold to a past guest and neighbor. We now have two Beachcomber Cottages. I will say, it is a lot of work keeping the houses nice for our guests...but we have tremendous help from a team of local people who make sure it is clean, keys work, everything is in working order,..special thanks to Phyllis, Caroline, and my husband George who treat these cottages like their own and Beau, Jimmy, and Glenda who pitch in, as needed. I know, like me, after you experience the welcoming calm of Colonial Beach, you will be back many times...and we hope it is at one of the Beachcomber Cottages!

We chose this property for a couple of reasons; view, size, location, and the fact that it was demolished to the studs so that it was really a clean slate. As we reconstructed it; we changed the layout for maximum enjoyment of the view and adding the ability to have a guest suite within the house. Also we liked that it was one story; through the past several years of renting we have found that many of our guests want the accessibility of one level living.

この宿泊施設の特徴

My husband and I stayed in the house in the fall of 2022 as our home next door went through major renovation. We loved this house for all the reasons our guests have told us; the views, the SPACE, the access to walk to the beach. We found the beds comfortable and while there took the time to upgrade the livingroom furniture, re-vamp the den furniture . We added fencing to the front yard for our friends and guests who bring their well behaved dogs! Many guests in our past rentals have enjoyed that we are family friendly; including well behaved dogs; breed, size and age considered.
Please note, we take guest comments seriously. Some guests have commented on the beds. We found the beds very firm when we tested them so bought a new matttess, put gel pads on the other two mattresses. We tested the beds, and while they weren't as firm and more comfortable, we still found them to be squeaky. We tightened the headboards. No luck. Then we found the solution; it wasn't the mattress at all...it was the box spring. Happy to report, comfortable beds and the squeak is gone; thanks for the feedback!
