Shadowbrook is nestled in one of Montecito's exclusive neighborhoods tucked below the foothills. Surrounded by ancient oaks, evergreens, tropical palms and blooming bougainvillea, this property is peaceful and serene. Relax to the sounds of the stream-like water feature that meanders through the property and lush gardens, terminating beside the newly constructed pool. This home is a breath of fresh air!
The property featur es a 3 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom Main house, plus a private detached Guest Studio. This bright and open home was designed to take advantage of nature's canvas. An entire wall of wide bi-fold doors open to the garden to accomplish a seamless blending of indoor and outdoor spaces. Open beam ceilings soar over wide distressed wood plank floors that feel smooth underfoot, giving the inside a rustic yet sophisticated feel.
The Living Room offers 2 different spaces to sit and relax. There is a comfortable seating area near the corner fireplace and Dining Room, and a cozy area for watching television near the Master Bedroom.
A wall of natural sandstone separates the newly remodeled Kitchen from the Living Room. All the necessary culinary appliances, tools and dishes have been provided in order to prepare great meals with ease. There is plenty of room for conversation with the cook, or to help with the dishes!
The Master Bedroom, with king-size bed and walk-in closet, has walls of glass windows and doors on 2 sides which allow an amazing amount of light and soft breezes to permeate the space. Easy access to the back garden is provided. The spacious Master Bathroom features a very clever glass shower with an exterior door to the outdoor patio. Guests will find this very convenient when going to and from the spa just outside on the elevated garden terrace nearby.
The home was smartly designed to stay seasonally cool with the use of lower louvered windows that can be opened in the 2 Guest Bedrooms to allow gentle breezes to pass through. Bedroom Suite #2 has a queen-size bed and a full Bathroom with shower. Bedroom #3 has 2 twin beds and a Bathroom with shower/bathtub combination.
A detached Studio Guest Suite offers a wonderful space for those seeking a bit more privacy from the activity of the main house. With a king-size bed, full Bathroom and sofa sleeper, this could be the perfect haven for a couple, a small family, or overflow guests to share.
Clearly, it is the blending of the indoor and outdoor spaces that define this Montecito treasure. The wrap around deck runs the length of the home. Stepping down from the deck, the sloping lawn leads down to the newly constructed sparkling pool. The mountain views from the pool are spectacular.
The Upper Village of Montecito and Westmont College are each a short 5 minute drive from the property. Butterfly Beach and the wide sandy beaches off Cabrillo Boulevard are just 10 minutes away, as is downtown Santa Barbara. Or take a short walk to Lotusland, right down the street.

Stays of less than 30 nights are subject to a 10% Lodging Tax + $2/night Tourism Tax.
$350 Cleaning Fee (14+ night stays require additional cleaning fees), Booking Fee (varies based on reservation cost).
$2,000 security deposit refundable within 14 days of checkout. Deposit is reduced to $500 with purchase of Damage Waiver.

Great house for a family vacation. We had 9-month-old twins with us and the studio was perfect for that part of the family. Enjoyed the spa and kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Hope to come back again.

My husband and I have stayed at Shadowbrook twice, once with friends and once with family, and absolutely love it. The home exemplifies the relaxed, tasteful Santa Barbara lifestyle. The ranch style details and finishes are gorgeous. The master suite is quite large, as is the beautifully outfitted master bath. There are two smaller bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, off the main living area. The guest house offers privacy and lots of space to relax. The large deck that opens off the living area and overlooks the pond is the spot where we spent most of our time. We will definitely visit Shadowbrook on a future visit to Santa Barbara.
We reserved Shaddowbrook for the week of our daughter's wedding. It could not have been more perfect! It was warm and charming, with relaxing indoor and outdoor space. The separate Guest House is ideal for a couple needing privacy. We can't wait to come back!
One of the best homes I have ever rented. The house was tucked away in a private location yet close enough to downtown for dinners and activities. It has plenty of space for a large group and was so clean (having the hot tub is def an added bonus). I felt right at home when I arrived. The management is super responsive and was great to work with. On the day we left we had minimal clean up to do compared to other houses
I've rented in the past (ie stripping the beds and emptying garbage) because they take care of it all. I would def rent this house again.
The entire process and stay was easy, as promised and memorable in a good way. Paradise Rentals was particularly responsive from the reservation process through the stay and to the deposit return. Would work with the group again.
