Relaxing family time!
Our family, ages 1 to 69, enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful with a great yard for running around. We caught and ate crabs twice (about a dozen each time) while there. We are already talking about going back next year.
Spacious and clean home on an inlet of the Chesapeake Bay....comfortable and relaxing. Would definitely recommend.
The house was clean and well kept.
The owner was great to work with from the very beginning. The house was clean and the furniture was very comfortable. If you're looking for a private and relaxing home this is the one.
Wonderful weekend for multiple families
The home is very nice, and the pictures are representative of how incredible the property actually is. I was amazed at the size of the the backyard. The kayaks and dock were excellent, too. The owner was also incredibly helpful with all my inquiries.
The jellyfish were in full force during our stay, but the house provided many more options to make the weekend excellent. We also caught a ton of crabs off the dock in the traps provided by the owner.
Helpful hint, be sure to go to the store in Easton or Cambridge before getting to the house, because no one wants to hop in the car and do a minimum 20-minute drive back to town.
A long weekend right out of Michener's "Chesapeake" !
The house was GREAT. Everything described and shown was as good as expected or better. Bikes and kayaks were a great plus - - all in good condition. We didn't use the firepit because it was 95' but we caught crabs, kayaked on the beautiful river, biked, went into town and enjoyed the spacious, clean, well-equipped and well-laid out house, yard and dock including gas grille. We're not boaters but if someone was the dock looks like it would be great. Alan was easy to communicate with. Bedrooms are spacious and clean. If you're not familiar with area, its about 20 minutes from stores and Cambridge historical attractions, so stock up on way in, except for local produce from roadside stands ( and crabs, which are there in season!). Ospreys, eagles, herons, egrets, many smaller birds commonly seen in short weekend. Recommend Blackwater NWR for nice bike ride, about 25 minutes away by car. Had a good meal at Jimmy & Sooks on Alan's recommendation. Only downer was that heat and season caused jellyfish to proliferate inshore on the channels - - these wouldn't be an issue at the nearby ocean beaches but they did limit our dockside swimming. But they were interesting to observe as well. An excellent house for a large, active group. Fishing from the dock is probably worth checking out - - we didn't because of short weekend. We'd return if the occasion presents itself. Thanks, Alan!
Great place on the water
Just returned from our 32nd annual old guy friends weekend and the house accommodated us twelve 60 somethings nicely. We crabbed, fished, kayaked and enjoyed the firepit and spacious deck. Plenty of outdoor furniture for the twelve of us. The dock, gas grill and kayaks were all in excellent condition. Kitchen well equipped, beds, living room furniture clean and comfortable. Nice bar in side room and a dining room table that seated 8 comfortably.
Beautiful sunrises and no biting bugs (except the flies were a bit of a nusiance). The crew voted to rent this place again in the future - which is a resounding recommendation from these old curmudgeons.
The owner was easy to reach and responded to our inquiry promptly.
