About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 4.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Our Cypress Point Home is ideally located in the center of Kiawah Island. We are well inside the security gate and our private enclave of 17 homes @ Cypress Point sits in a lovely wooded setting. Recently featured in Ocean Homes Magazine ( March 2011), Cypress Point was included as one of the top 20 ocean island developments in the world, highly regarded for its eco friendliness and preservation of the natural setting in which it dwells. This community offers security, great neighbours, and a relaxing Zen Pool for owners and guests.

Cypress Point appealed to us in many ways. Landscaped courtyards, bright well laid out interiors, the high quality appointments, eco friendly, and the preservation of nature in mind.

Our home was completed July 2011. It is airy and well lit, and is decorated with Asian accents, a wonderful getaway for extended families uniting, good friends gathering, And significant celebrations.

We offer 2 King Suites a Queen Suite and a superb suite with 2 Double Beds. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, walk in closets, and cable TV . The generous use of marble and tile contributes to the modern, luxurious motif. A powder room is located off the Great Room and entertaining areas.

I have equipped the kitchen for gourmet food prep with a gas range, electric oven, convection microwave, refrigerator ice maker, top of the line cooking utensils, and service for ten people.

In the Great Room there is Surround Sound, Blu-Ray DVD, IPOD docking station, HD Cable and TV, and the spaciousness of 10 ft. ceilings.

The screened porch is at ground level by the main entry, garage, and grilling area. It offers a cottage like getaway to relax, read, snooze and listen to your favorite music.

Kiawah is a hidden gem. Drive here, fly here, so convenient to Historic Charleston. Kiawah's ten mile beach is rated as one of the top 10 beaches in North America, and our house is a short walk or bike ride away. Kiawah is rated as the number one tennis facility in the US and there is championship golf readily available, one of which is the world famous Ocean Course.

There is a friendly playground nearby and over thirty miles of trails for biking and blading.

For the discriminating traveller, vacationing in our home will start a tradition. We have.

About Pauline

Hi. My name is Pauline. My husband and I first discovered and fell in love with Kiawah Island in 1998. We are Canadians from the Ottawa area and when we were looking for a place in the sun we wanted something away from the intense commercialism associated with Florida. I grew up surrounded by nature and an appreciation for lakes, flora and fauna from early childhood. When looking for our getaway my early years were a strong influence in choosing our Kiawah home.

Pauline purchased this house in 2011

Why Pauline chose Charleston Area

We consider Kiawah to be a wonderful family vacation setting and second home for our family. It is a great place to unwind. The golf courses are unsurpassed and the available world class dining is superb

Beautiful

We loved this beautiful home. A family vacation with grandparents, children and grandchildren. The elevator came in handy. Clean relaxing and close to the beach. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

It could not be better !!!

  • 5 of 5

If you liked the photos of the house (which we did), the actual home is better!! We enjoyed a week with (4) generations of family. All (4) bedrooms are beautifully decorated and have a perfect private bath. The elevator was a big plus for my 91 year old Mom. The kitchen had it all...you don't need to bring anything. The living room was open to dining area and kitchen and has all the space you will ever need. We grilled some burger downstairs and relaxed at the adjacent screened porch. The zen pool was very convenient and we had it all to ourselves most days.

If you are looking for the perfect place, go no further. Make your booking today!!!! You will not be disappointed.

What a wonderful way to escape the winter blues!

  • 5 of 5

Having survived "record breaking" snow in Pennsylvania, my husband and I were in sore need of a little time down South where the ground was green. Needing to bring our two 13 year old dogs with us, we were ecstatic to find Bruce and Pauline's house with an elevator on line. Even though it was just the two of us, it was the pictures of the house that sold me. After seeing how wonderful the upstairs was, I almost wish we had brought more family with us. Truly a beautiful house. I believe my husband's favorite part may have been the master bedroom shower pressure. Mine was the nearby park where we took our faithful companions every afternoon. Travelling in the off season was wonderful, as we never felt that it was crowded anywhere. We rented bikes for the week and had a blast exploring the area. We spent two days in Charleston and also visited a plantation. Fresh Fields Village was another highlight. Great restaurants and stores. Pauline, thanks for the helpful paperwork at the house and I enjoyed reading all the old magazines I found! Tomasso's was my favorite restaurant and we had drinks at the Ocean Course our final afternoon, heavenly! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous home with us, it was perfect.

We Has a Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Kiawah Cottage for 6 nights in August 2015 with a total of two families - 4 adults and 5 children. It was our first trip to Kiawah and the Island is spectacular. We actually stayed two nights at the Sanctuary hotel, and then 6 nights at the cottage. It was a lot of fun to experience both the high end resort hotel and all its amenities and then stay in a private home. Overall, we were very happy with the home. It fit both of our families very well, was clean, well equipped and centrally located for trips to the beach, Night Heron Park and all over the Island. We spent most of our days alternating between the beach (7 minute bike ride to the beach path) and the Night Heron Splash Park (since we stayed at the Sanctuary Hotel the staff at the pool gave us access all week for free when we asked). The house itself had a nice charm to it, was comfortable and seemed to have everything we needed. It was very nice that the house includes beach chairs for all. The kitchen and Master Bath were extremely nice. We had a personal chef come in and cook two meals for the group, and the the kitchen seemed to suit him well as it did for the morning breakfasts we cooked. If there was any downside to the house, it it is that it doesn't have any type of out door deck open to the sun and a view. There is a screened in porch, but that is kind of secluded and on the darker side. But the Zen pool for the community, which is very close to house, was terrific and helped to offset not having that deck with a view. On the island itself, we highly recommend going to the Ocean Club (Ocean front golf course) in the early evening for drinks or dinner, going for long bike rides on the beach, hanging on the beach, visiting the amenities at the Sanctuary Hotel including the main pool and bar, the Harris Teeter at Fresh Fields Village, happy hour at the Zen Pool:), the splash park at Night Heron Park, and biking around the island. It was a terrific vacation, and the Cottage played a nice role for us.

One Luxurious Home!

  • 5 of 5

Another family recommended this place to us, so I expected the place to be nice but it was way more than nice. We like to go out for dinner so we didn't cook there but it was a fabulous kitchen and had every convenience imaginable. We had plenty of room for everyone but it was homely enough to enjoy playing a game at the table in the evening. There were 7 of us with ages ranging from 8 to 65 and it worked for everyone. The owners were great to deal with and we all said we would go back. We highly recommend the place!
