Dear Ed, You texted about a rat eating through your peanut can on Saturday. I responded on Saturday and miraculously the Terminix guy came on Monday afternoon. You “checked out” aka left Monday morning. I can’t wish away a rat that walks in the open doors. I responded promptly. They refunded your money. What was the correct response ? I have monthly pest control. They caught one rat. I can’t stop the pests in key west. The sugar ants are relentless… Hello…. But a little more to the story: I was there in January. And I thought I heard rats in the little key west attic and I am like OMG. So I called the terminix guy ,again , and they put traps in the attic. He came back a few days later to check… no rats. But I’m still hearing these noises up in the attic late at night. So I call him again and I’m like dude there are rats in my attic, put some traps in there , gas them, whatever. So more traps and poison in the attic. Next night, I AM STILL HEARING THE RATS IN THE ATTIC. I am like beside myself. I run a wholesale food company, I don’t tolerate vermin. So I go outside with a flash light and low and behold I find the “rats” outside on the roof. Except it was about 5 times the size of a rat and green. Iguanas… the invasive big green iguanas, not the little key west geckos. Scampering around on my roof. I suspect maybe because the house roof is warmer when it’s cold out. So we cut the neighbors tree branches back so they would really have to jump to get to my roof. But I’m sure your thought the house was infested with rats because I was having a meltdown thinking the house was infested with rats too! Sorry for the trouble.But I don’t think I was unresponsive.
